This song was first released on the take me to tomorrow album. it is the only album it has been released on.

There not my mother's specials

My experience in Amsterdam is that cyclists ride where the hell they like and aim in a state of rage at all pedestrians while ringing their bell loudly, the concept of avoiding people being foreign to them.

Christmas in Amsterdam

I spent Christmas in Amsterdam
Next I will try Japan, It wouldn’t harm
Stayed in a hostel at a farm
That grew only potatoes and yam

I visited the town on the towns’ tram
Breakfast was fried eggs and cold ham
I tipped the waitress calling her 'Madam'
Rode on the river canal across the dam
Waved across to who I believe was Uncle Sam
Clear sights hindered by snowy traffic jams
Allowed my camera to stay warm in my palm
Preventing pictures from been erased in ram

Lunch was stewed rice and lamb
I ate and ignored a baby crying in its pram
Then went to bed and took a nap to feel calm
Woke up to the sound of junkie trams
Opened my window and screamed out 'Damn'
Threw a bottle out missing someone’s arm

No Country of Romance

Blue skies over Amsterdam reveal a kingdom far from clean.
As we do the best we feel we can in an attempt to make true the dream.
For this is no country of romance and not a single tulip did I see.
Yet in truth there was the freedom we had been promised.
Simply a freedom hidden behind a wall of demon-like stares.
It seems as though its so hard for anyone to care in the place.
Its as though no one is really ever there. As the ghost of memories
Wavering runs her fingers through my hair I know that I was there.
If only it were my form that bore the storm my soul was loosened from the
Constrictions of its self knowing - yet I wish I had the ability to show you
Through an expression of wonderment all it is you mean to me.
More than the Blue skies of Amsterdam and more than the deepest sea
Regardless of its treasures concealed. For within any relationship there are
Pleasures to be sought and lessons to be taught as there are revelations revealed - I try not to get caught up in it all
But it is for you that I have fallen. And now upon my knees I'm asking of you
To set sail your soul upon the breeze of un known whisperings melodic.

On the Isle of Sky

dry fog lying on my palms
holding my ankles
dry fog in my mouth

as I reach for your back
to caress it with clouds of silk
I've woven from the wetness of my skin
from words deemed unspeakable
deft truth and mimicry of angels
that have risen from dark sod of the murk wasteland
