To take the measure of oneself by reference to one's colleagues leads to envy or complacency rather than constructive self-examination.

Graduation Day (July 29,2007)
A day to part
Away from scholarly books
And mind boggling journals
Running words and trawling letters
Leaving behind the assignments
And examinations.
Graduation day
A fulfillment of recognition
Granted to measure the tough journey
Traveled in months and years
Browsing pages of papers
Now, insignificantly lie somewhere.
The sleepless nights
The restless moments
All have vanished with the crown
Received on this day.
A lot of happy smiles

Cambridge Exam
Cambridge exam is too hard,
Why study science but not art,
Working too much like retard,
Wanna tear the handouts apart,
Skipping lectures cause they s**k,
Falling asleep my eyes shut,
Slacking a lot from the start,
Having no choice but work smart,
Without solutions I am stuck,
Singaporeans love to mug,
They think fail is 2nd upper class,
No more london roasted duck,
Miss playing soccer at the park,
My Xbox is collecting dust,
Hope my motivation will last,
Library camping is a must,
Accidentally there I fart,
It smells like rotten apple tart,
Day by day I go nuts,
Like zombie with no soul & heart,

To A Wife Who Is Taking Things For Granted
i am an examination
and you fill in the blanks
and i decide
what answers are right
if you fail
you know what teachers
can do
please pass
please.

A Swinburnian Interlude
Short space shall be hereafter
Ere April brings the hour
Of weeping and of laughter,
Of sunshine and of shower,
Of groaning and of gladness,
Of singing and of sadness,
Of melody and madness,
Of all sweet things and sour.
Sweet to the blithe bucolic
Who knows nor cribs nor crams,
Who sees the frisky frolic
Of lanky little lambs;
But sour beyond expression
To one in deep depression
Who sees the closing session
And imminent exams.
He cannot hear the singing
Of birds upon the bents,

Of course, it is very important to be sober when you take an exam. Many worthwhile careers in the street- cleansing, fruit-picking and subway-guitar-playing industries have been founded on a lack of understanding of this simple fact.

Reality Check Rewards
bedazzled by dreams
of fat fame fortune
wealth power which
can be a double edged
sword thus can students
who strived tried yet
failed exams yet purchase
a greater reality success
greater glory than false fruits
of mere mass materialism

Not Seduced By Gloss
The time to evaluate and assess one's life,
Should be done with a clear consciousness.
With a self examination taken day and night.
However...
Many do take flight from flaws they wish to cover.
Until all exits are closed that imposes,
One to face truth.
A truth that reduces its sweetness.
Or seduced by gloss one chooses others to perceive.
'And when a dark night rises,
Seekers to do evil prowl to dupe folks.
Fed by produced videos to boost wicked egos.'
What?
'I said...
The time to evaluate and assess one's life,
Should be done with a clear consciousness.
