Seek Thy Death

First take a life
with a wife like thine
then take a knife
to end that life in time.

Mear rapid flick blade
instant end cut rage
swift resident blood
signals flick end rip age.

Soul doth slide
cannot abide
alongside beating heart.

Torn asunder
plunging under
doth crimson feed hunger; part?

Spring Poem

Fluffy yellow balls appear
near long thin leaves
signalling an Aussie Spring
bare branches show specks
of green - soon purple petals
will carpet my patio floor

orchid-like the humble
onion weed reveals it's
stubborn beauty
forest search for harden
bergia - purple creeper
where blue wrens flit

wonder why I'm drawn
to spikey leaf and wild
flowers Everlastings

Big Star

Whoa
I saw a big star running from me
A world from a record on my bed
Turn the tables on me
What would happen if I fell
To the tune of a dreamer
To the tune of my heart
Big star running from me
I saw a world out sunning on my head
Turn the tables on me now
I would fall from heaven and ring your bell
Baby, catch me
In the middle of a lie
The boys are out tonight
Yeah, the boys are out tonight
The big shots singin from me
I saw a world out sunning on my head
Pity my heart signals
Center of a storm inside my head
Center of my

Static

Stark patterns rent by winter storms
Sweep the blood-red sky,
By haunted mills and frozen rills
The static crackles by;
But not a stone stands on a stone
To halt its whispered sigh.

Through twisted steel and molten glass
The signal spends its force
Then mutters on through blackened wheat,
Bent on its wayward course;
But none may hear the crackling tear
That shimmers through the gorse.

Twice round the earth the signal runs
To seek that whip of steel,
The midnight radio of man
Has ceased to hear or feel,
And silence reigns, where once had seen
The skirling of the reel.

Jimmy The Accountant

how can he forget
he saw me in that city
with that woman
(whom i married later
at the age of 35)
i was at the counter
of a pharmacy
buying
Rogin E, he was at the
other end
signaling to the
salesgirl that he
preferred a
strawberry flavored
condom.

he was there
alone.
I wasn't, though he

Everybody Like A Sunset

Everybody likes a sunset
With
Its gold and crimson
Freshly painted across the sky
A wonder to behold
But it has signaled
The end
Of a day that must have been
Beautiful.
For at the end of an overcast day
The sunset will be present
But hidden.
So the day
Must be lived
And before the day
The sunrise
Which normally passes unnoticed.
Just as few
Are there
To welcome new-born baby

Perhaps, Death Is Like That....

perhaps
when one is conscious of
an impending death,

time becomes a
line thinning into
lips sealing
itself

one falls out of
words

settles upon a chasm
of silence

trying to forget
what good is there that remains
in life

imagining what is next

An Oasis

I basked in the ordinariness of the day, where it demanded nothing of me, nor I of it
An afternoon unfolding in it's own shapeless way, a temporary truce, that did my mood befit.
This signalled a change and sought a cycle to break, for days of late have drained like a temperamental child,
Came this day to cherish where so little seemed at stake, a sereneness tethering thoughts that have run wild.
