Quotes about Pablo Picasso, page 3
Let's look at people as artists and try to support them; just because Picasso painted a couple of bad paintings, that's no reason to say he's a lousy painter.

My mother said to me, 'If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.' Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso.

My heroes are people like Picasso and Miro and people who at last really reach something in their old age, which they absolutely couldn't ever have done in their youth.

There is a relationship between cartooning and people like Mir= and Picasso which may not be understood by the cartoonist, but it definitely is related even in the early Disney.

Sometimes it works. Sometimes I feel like playing ""Hospital"". Sometimes I feel like playing ""Pablo Picasso"". I've been playing a lot lately. I do it as long as I feel like it.

Everything will be all right - you know when? When people, just people, stop thinking of the United Nations as a weird Picasso abstraction and see it as a drawing they made themselves.

My heroes were Dylan, John Lennon and Picasso, because they each moved their particular medium forward, and when they got to the point where they were comfortable, they always moved on.

When I was a child, my mother said to me, "If you become a soldier, you'll be a general. If you become a monk you'll end up as the pope." Instead I became a painter and wound up as Picasso.

Michael Picasso
(ian hunter)
(transcribed by justin purington)
Once upon a time
Not so long ago
People used to stand and stare
At the spider with the platinum hair
They thought you were immortal
We had our ups and downs
Like brothers often do
But I was there for him
He was always there for me
And we were there for you
How can I put into words
What my heart feels?
Its the deepest thing
When somebody you love dies
I just wanted
To give something back to you
Gift to gift
Michael, michael picasso good night

There Is Only Art
Sickness
Health
Poverty
Wealth
It does not matter.
There is only art.
For Michelangelo
Picasso passion artists.
Weather seasons not
as El Niño or La Nina
but Il Divino
'the divine one'.

While You Sleep
And tonight while you sleep
i write poetry,
or perhaps prose.
I'll write something sad,
because sadness is a part of me.
It is my INSIDE.
Be glad is my OUTSIDE.
My life as a circus
and I'm Picasso sad clown.

In the Dim Light at the Threshold of a Parisian Bar!
Cezanne and Renoir
At a corner table
Younger Artists
Matisse and Picasso nearby
Finishing a bottle of Rum!
I want to ask them
About 'The Girl with green eyes'
Henry Matisse's best work for me
And 'Guernica' Pablo Picasso made me a mad!
My beloved switched on the ceiling lamp
And said; 'Hey! Honey it's Mother's day'
Then I thought of my two Mothers!
My poor Mom & Beloved!
And I collect my scattered pastel sticks,
Then wife says; 'You finish it next year that I am sure.'
'Certainly I want to send a painting for an International Art competition
And If I win darling I'll piggyback you up to the Eiffel Tower
As I heard in my dream poor deceased Mom works there in a Cafeteria!

When the painting is hanging on your wall for a long time, you don't notice it. You get tired of it, even if it's a Picasso. When the next generation inherits the painting, they sell it. I don't want to be sold.

Melt Down
In a way, even by still-life, sunlit
day. Visionary problematic Picasso, poet,
walks in serene snow covered night.
Leaving footprints in virgin untrod snow
silent select seekers may later follow.
Ever after several have melted in shadow.

My Bizarre Reality
I'm snow white
With an ash painted face
A Japanese Gangster
Tattoo's in lace
A night purple shade
I'm Van Gogh's Sky
A Picasso Dream

Nobody taught Picasso how to paint - he learned for himself. And nobody can teach you to be a producer. You can learn the mechanics, but you can't learn what's right about a script or a director or an actor. That comes from instinct and intuition. It comes from inside you.

How Bizarre Picasso's Guernica
had a strange bizarre idea
an explosive expression of force
a kind of Kung Fu high ya
to write split images
slicing Picasso's Guernica
are ambitious goals
‘Counting Skeletons

expendable human wave attacks
counting skeletons
military civilians animals
far too complex figures
for mind dumb numb critics
expecting classical critiques
lacking Geneva Conventions
