More Exams Please

I am super crazy about the school exams
For I think they don’t let my grey cells jam
And what makes me sad is that they are few and far
The new board rule of a few exams is so bizarre
Everything we do should be evaluated and tested
If fact there should be a test on sleeping too
So that I enjoy the task and don’t feel depreciated
What fun tests are, all the weekly, monthly, bi yearly, yearly and of course the surprise tests!
My life is full of tests in the school, in the tuition cases, and the tests in judo and guitar classes just adds to the fests.
What more can a child ask for but, evaluated every second of their life for everything they do
Hey how about exam on breathing, eating and even smiling
Can’t wait can you?
And since we are on the topic of education can someone increase the load of homework too?

Two papers more,
Two lovers more,

Minister for Exams

When I was a child I sat an exam.
This test was so simple
There was no way i could fail.

Q1. Describe the taste of the Moon.

It tastes like Creation I wrote,
it has the flavour of starlight.

Q2. What colour is Love?

Love is the colour of the water a man
lost in the desert finds, I wrote.

Q3. Why do snowflakes melt?

I wrote, they melt because they fall
on to the warm tongue of God.

The Music Exam

I sit outside the exam room, waiting, patiently, for my turn;
Anxiety has, long since, set in, and my stomach is all a-churn.
These music exams, have always been really rather formal,
So, I guess, to get this nervous, is just completely normal.

I enter the exam room, and, having warmed up, I start,
But, all too soon, things, very slightly, begin to fall apart.
For this moment, in my life, I have, relentlessly, rehearsed;
Of the times, I’ve played this piece; this is, by far, the worst.

I’m unable to stop my two hands from, literally, shaking,
And I’m feeling annoyed at the mistakes, I’m now making.
At home, I’ve played this piece, hundreds of times before,
But my fingers just don’t seem to want to work any more.

At my mistakes, I’m now feeling really rather frustrated,
And deep inside, my spirit is now, somewhat, deflated.
At home, feeling relaxed, I played these pieces just fine;
Now my fingers, no longer feel as though they are even mine.

My Feverish Brow

Restless, angry with myself, doing stupid things
while waiting for the French exam, so excited to
write a real exam at last and what do I do with
this chance - grow tense and confused, cannot
concentrate to revise again, telling myself this is
bad behaviour does not help, feet freezing in the
icy air-con which cools my feverish brow, the long
wait leads to a tension headache and I wish that
I could calm down, wish I could feel better and
study with more self-confidence…

Final Exams

Final Exams are such a big hassle
But I suppose it is worth all the stress
If it is for the cap, gown and tassel
Even though I wish the stress was much less
If only the finals were trouble-free
No one would worry this much or freak out
And we'd be done quick and effortlessly
Finals being easy? I really doubt
So I'll keep trying to get a good grade
And from a big college I'll graduate
Then when I'm a doctor, I'll have it made
But first, my finals, before it's too late
So here I am, still taking my exam
Using everything I just had to cram
