If the world
If the world were an galaxy we'd be miles apart
If the world is a street we'd be closer together
It the world were nothing we would be nothing
If the world cared we would care for it
What has this world become?

Night Call
In cosmic celestial stillness
infusing frozen moments
stretching
into eternities unknown.
Is felt faint pulse
of pristine primeval galaxies.
Gaze into galvanic compelling
emptiness of stirring dark starry sky.
Untouched
by industrial pollutants
muddying cobalt skyline.
Where
poisonous slime
sucks forth fevered souls.
Darkness
coal black plasmatic poetry
neutral celestial migratory friend.

Outside The Orbit
the galaxy is too big
and planets do not really care
and stars too
that glitter but
indifferently
out of orbit
a planetoid goes free willy
another uncertainty
soundlessly trekking
in the pursuit of its own space

incessant incantation of I love you
Unspoken words can have a chasm
As far and as wide as galaxies
But there is nothing as fathomless
And empty and hollow
As the "I Love Youes" that are shallow
That are swallowed
easily by the serpent of doubt
And withers at first sign of the cold.

Don't you see what's at stake here? The ultimate aim of all science to penetrate the unknown. Do you realize we know less about the earth we live on than about the stars and the galaxies of outer space? The greatest mystery is right here, right under our feet.

solar flares flame
kinda hard to tell
when scientists
are telling the truth
beating around the Bush
had over a thousand
scientists in his pocket
stating crisis global warming
a false fantasy does not exist

Your Presence Fills My Heart in a Beat
Your presence fills my heart in a beat
The moment stops Niagara Falls,
My heart holds you seated on a silver seat
The sheer pleasure of eyes pulsating calls,
Melts my core...The Taj Mahal a vanity fair.
My love dances to embracing tunes
As the Sphinx’s gold runs thru your hair,
The pyramids return to sandy dunes
Wings unfold I feel a galactic flyer,
You alone set the stars fires blinking
I’m so rich with you I can aspire no higher,
Your hands prevent my heart from sinking,
Down life’s path always together
In love holding hands forever.

Star Traveler
Looking up at the stars at night
we can see a wonderful sight.
Galaxies from light years away
we wehre once there like on Earth today.
So be thankful you visited Earth again-
you are a space traveler and a star friend.

Cartoon Physics, Part 1
Children under, say, ten, shouldn't know
that the universe is ever-expanding,
inexorably pushing into the vacuum, galaxies
swallowed by galaxies, whole
solar systems collapsing, all of it
acted out in silence. At ten we are still learning
the rules of cartoon animation,
that if a man draws a door on a rock
only he can pass through it.
Anyone else who tries
will crash into the rock. Ten-year-olds
should stick with burning houses, car wrecks,
ships going down -- earthbound, tangible
disasters, arenas

There are 1011 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers.

According to the standard model billions of years ago some little quantum fluctuation, perhaps a slightly lower density of matter, maybe right where we're sitting right now, caused our galaxy to start collapsing around here.

Siege
Your love threw me
In the land of wonders.
It took me by surprise
From my neck
While I was
At my preferred café,
At my preferred table,
While I was teasing my poems,
While my poems were teasing me.
I forgot my preferred café
And I forgot my preferred table
I forgot my poems
I forgot whom I was teasing
And who was teasing me.
.
Your love surprised me
While I was reading my hand
For luck
And fate.
I forgot my hand,

I Wrote A Poem Across The Universe
I wrote a poem across the Universe
It was read among the stars-
Cosmic messages were sent endlessly reinterpreting it-
It appeared in Galactic anthologies
And whole Civilizations taught it in their schools-
Worlds were born with it and worlds lamented their dying with it-
It became the Text of the Text of the Text of the Text of the Text
Of cosmic intergalactic meaningfulness-
I wrote a poem across the Universe-
It was read for billions of years
And then somehow
No attention was paid to it anymore-
And it vanished for as long as forever can be understood to be.

Two minds in Harmony for Tom Mariani
A myriad stars, bright points of light
are twinkling in the darkling sky
and many more beyond my sight
far from this island galaxy.
Another planet family
may orbit round some distant sun.
Considered mathematically
the odds are that there might be one.
Which is the same or similar
as those orbit our sun.
Perhaps some being sees our star
and sits and meditates upon.
The remote possibility.
a life form of a different sort
in some far distant galaxy.
A being capable of thought.

Summer
It's finally summer!
Can you feel the air burn?
Warmth finally has its turn!
Gliding down the hills,
to the world's end,
brings such thrill!
Suffocating is this thralldom to gravity.
Please, let me flee far from this galaxy.

Daring Night
In the daring night when all the
Stars are shining bright
Squeeze me dont leave me
In the daring night
Galactic swirl in the firmament tonight
Oh with the lord of the dance
With the lord of the dance
In the daring night
I see orion and the hunters
Standing by the light of the moon
In the daring night
In the daring night
And the heart and the soul
As we look up in awe and wonder at the heavens
Oh and we go with the lord of the dance
With the lord of the dance, the lord of the dance
In the daring night
In the daring night when all the stars are
Shining bright
Oh baby squeeze me dont leave me in the daring night

Another Learning
there is a door
between us as though
we are just
two adjacent rooms
to enter into your door
i need to have that key
you keep on telling me
the key was lost and you
do not know
where to find it anymore
there is another door
and you are allowing someone else to come in
at first i say 'This is unfair! ' and
I thought of forcing
that door open

Like The Galaxies The World Is Moving Away From Me
Like the galaxies
The world is moving away from me
I struggle to retain my place
As so many many things I know little about
And will know less about
Accelerate away from me
Growing old is being left behind
And every day discovering new distances
One will never be able to reach.
