The patient watches

The patient watches. Six days long
In frenzy blizzards rave relentlessly,
Roll over rooftops, roar along,
Brace, rage, and fall, collapsing senselessly.

In snowstorms Christmas is consumed.
He dreams: they came and lifted someone.
He starts: 'Whom? Me?' There was a call,
A tolling bell… Not New Year's summons?

Far, in the Kremlin, booms Ivan,
Dives, drowns, resounds in swaying motion.
He sleeps. When great, a blizzard can
Be called Pacific, as the Ocean.

With the hint of a teardropp in my eye

The wedding at the beach
The limo ride to a television show
Being in the audience of another
Being a juror
The insanity of a terrorist.

I think we are bound to, and by, nature. We may want to deny this connection and try to believe we control the external world, but every time there's a snowstorm or drought, we know our fate is tied to the world around us.

Oh! Blizzard, you scalped me out the tree
Where was I ecstatic and free
Seperated being am I, can't be in glee,

Mindfog

this day
the frost has
frozen over the glass, and
the doors are snow-stuck shut

fog is dense,
milky like blind eyes
and my feet fall
through unexpected inches
when I step past sidewalk

What weary loneliness
When I'm swimming alone
In such dreadful weather at dawn.

When I saw you last,
We were sweltering
In unrelenting summer
