Uncontrolled Substance
*eerie winds blow*
*winds die down as beat drops*
[inspectah deck]
It had to be this way
This is for real
Nobody said it would be easy
So let it be (ooh.. oh yeah)
Aiyyo, s.i.n.y., killa bee hive
Eastside, duckin the 5, roll wit the live
Sweet love, sweep me in the bug eye, we bout to glide
Head fried, spittin the scribe, move in disguise
Wan test i? access denied
I live and die by the motto: let none survive
Livin off my last cut, cant hold the sword up
You can have that for free before I take your best offer
Stalker, preparin for your sianora
Torture, test my word as I come like orca
Niggaz need life supporters, for bein so weak
I speak as a veteran and lace the heads Ive creased
And live my footprints wherever Ive blessed my presence

Murdergram
Aiyyo don't go near the speakers
[LL Cool J]
The big showdown the display is skill
I'm the type of Picasso witcha girl on the pill
Take a family snap shot kiss ya wife
Cause I'm like a knife, the concrete is right
And I'll take ya life and take ya like python
I'ma do you wrong
Any emcee who you wanna name?
I want pain that I can be tamed
Talkin about guns punk it don't alarm me
Got enough cash to make a whole damn army
I can't hold back the way that I feel
Cause when I bust a rhyme it's like ya slippin off banana peels
Ya like fruit cake ya fruit cocktails
First your title now I'm takin your female
All of a sudden you're so proud of a black
A baseball hat but you ain't sayin jack
The ripper is back and you can't escape
Cause one of my records will sell more than your whole tape

The Royal Air Force Hero and the Luftwaffe General
Britain fought for her life.
Hitler’s armies prepared
For an invasion of England.
Savage air battles took place
Over the skies of Albion.
Then a miracle happened:
In the summer and autumn of 1940
The Royal Air Force defeated
The numerically superior Luftwaffe.
This was a turning point in the war.
Lacking adequate air support,
The Fuehrer could not carry out
His invasion plans.
Deeply touched by the heroism
Of the pilots, Winston Churchill said:
“Never in the field of human conflict
Was so much owed by so many

Voyage around the Square Root of Minus One
I often heard
that while the sciences concern themselves
with objective truths
the arts deal with subjective phenomena.
Many years ago I held the same view,
but later came to the conclusion
that this is just a well-combed popular myth.
It is an untenable credo
because the sharp separation
of the arts and sciences is a rigid
and arbitrary mandate, full of holes.
Although all subjects have their specificities,
at the same time they also share
many common traits with each other.
There is art in science and science in art.

At The Bar-Code Ranch
A stellar job in the bullpen
C.B.S. Baseball
I lie in a converted garage, sun coming up
and the chuck-chuck of unfamiliar birds
from Lake Mizell.
The lamp grows ineffectual
under a skylight; the great world
washes in, humid, composed of small numbered parts.
Sometime after nine, the classical music station stops
for the landing of a space shuttle
a sonic boom
shakes the bungalow
and Vladomir Horowitz
is abruptly terminated.
Yesterday, at New Smyrna, north of Canaveral:
knotted shoreline
