Cleis
Sleep, darling
I have a small
daughter called
Cleis, who is
like a golden
flower
I wouldn't
take all Croesus'
kingdom with love
thrown in, for her
---
Don't ask me what to wear
I have no embroidered
headband from Sardis to
give you, Cleis, such as
I wore
and my mother

What I Never Wanted
The door to Turkey
a road to Aleppo
far from the Euro
more misery.
The red compass
is not turning
to the West
and we at best
do turn our backs
at them.
Return to sender
our defender
remains
while
bloodclodded
children
escape from hell.

Be these people either Conservatives or Socialists, Yellows or Reds, the most important thing is - and that is the point I want to stress - that all of them are right in the plain and moral sense of the word.

Wild Wild Party In The Loquat Tree
Out in the back by the grape stake fence
Is a place where nature makes so much sense
All the creatures livin in harmony
Its a wild wild party in the loquat tree
Fuzzies and furries run walk or fly
Havin a feast beneath a clear blue sky
Animals comin from miles around
To bounce the branch and shake the loquat down
The squirrel and the sparrow and the mouse and the bee
All havin a party in the loquat tree
Eatin all the yellow fruit they can see
Its a wild wild party in the loquat tree
Peckin at em pickin at em hidin em away
Savin em up for a rainy day
No matter how big no matter how small
Theres more than enough theres plenty for all
The squirrel and the sparrow and the mouse and the bee
All havin a party in the loquat tree
Eatin all the yellow fruit they can see
Its a wild wild party in the loquat tree

The Lovely Encounter
if you could only see what
i have seen as i try to write these lines
how many times have i told you
about seeing love and then
writing about it?
love is not just an idea
there is flesh, younger flesh on strong bones
there is that softness of the hair
the scent of magnolias
there is this sound of the sea breeze
there is color like the yellowness of the fabric
that covers desire
there is this taste of a little salt from the sea
the sweetness of cherry
and the flavor of rum and
the sound of a hum

Primrose
Yellow, yellow, yellow, yellow!
It is not a color.
It is summer!
It is the wind on a willow,
the lap of waves, the shadow
under a bush, a bird, a bluebird,
three herons, a dead hawk
rotting on a pole--
Clear yellow!
It is a piece of blue paper
in the grass or a threecluster of
green walnuts swaying, children
playing croquet or one boy
fishing, a man
swinging his pink fists
as he walks--
It is ladysthumb, forget-me-nots
in the ditch, moss under
the flange of the carrail, the
wavy lines in split rock, a

Winter Blue
Kiss your lashes, hiss you low
Im driven to you like the driven snow
Theres a place for us to lie
For every lover theres a piece of sky
To every life a light that shines
To every heart a beat thats true
Baby youre my yellow summer
Baby youre my winterblue
You know that this was meant to be
Long ago a hundred years from now
Tossing on an open sea
Love so good its easy to go down
To every life a light that shines
To every heart a beat thats true
Baby youre my yellow summer
Baby youre my winterblue
Baby youre my yellow summer
Baby youre my winterblue
To every life a light that shines
To every heart a beat thats true

Martian Gothic
the time when water cannot be seen
the time when our shadow lays eggs
on the cozy bed of the barrel
how i love the gelatinous pipes!
each shiny heart forgets my will
six round clouds above the brewery...
on the far quicksand beaches
yellowish-black guns lost their voice
silence was never so green!

New For Old
Bud blisters into life
Stretching for the light
Unfolding radiant green
Upturned palm to the sun
Life seeping in, breathing out
Green, Green so Green
Resurrected hope, so Green
Summer breeze stroking
Branches ebb and flow
Leaves so Green strong now
Fear not wind of change
Mellow summer turns
Green, green, green-yellow
Yellow area of dieing heart
Green lingers no more
Limp transparent yellow
Barely a breeze takes one
Fierce Hyde-like wind now
Cracking and ripping
Wind torn leaves fall

Sanguine Sun spotted red with ruby
Ingrained wheat for food salty sweatly
Milky Moon moving around white and pearly
Rich and ricey for minds and hearts happy
Coral Mars in enraged orange balled colorfully
Feasting leguminous with red legume family
Ever green Mercury enrolled with emerald verdantly
Fed with green bean pulsatively
Giant Jupiter yellowing in sapphire edifyingly

Study Of Two Pears
I
Opusculum paedagogum.
The pears are not viols,
Nudes or bottles.
They resemble nothing else.
II
They are yellow forms
Composed of curves
Bulging toward the base.
They are touched red.
III
They are not flat surfaces
Having curved outlines.
They are round
Tapering toward the top.
IV
In the way they are modelled

A Flower To Auroville Mother-77
Rain Lily Rose(Zephyranthes rosea)
Primrose Rain Lily(Zephyranthes primulina)
Yellow Rain Lily(Zephyranthes citrina)
Fairy Lily(pink rain lily, Zephyranthes carinata)
Fairy Lily(white rain lily, Zephyranthes candida)
Ah, o'dear I found you at Kalakad
Brought and planted in my yard
Knowing not then much of matter
About you and your family fatter
And when you grew prettily wide
Rain God in love one day pattered
Awesome to see you basked in joy
Blossoming making me too enjoy
You were rose with sister yellow
White or pink or primrose yellow-
Somewhere yonder all far farther
Only you rose and yellow together

Symphony in Yellow
An omnibus across the bridge
Crawls like a yellow butterfly,
And, here and therem a passer-by
Shows like a little restless midge.
Big barges full of yellow hay
Are moored against the shadowy wharf,
And, like a yellow silken scarf,
The thick fog hangs along the quay.
The yellow leaves begin to fade
And flutter from the temple elms,
And at my feet the pale green Thames
Lies like a rod of rippled jade.

Backstreet Beauty
in Abbotsford
Rusty corrugated iron fences
concrete slabbed
loading bays
of old factories.
In pitted courtyards
disdainful weeds
sprouting
gaudy and tall
through cracking tarmac
purples and yellows
mirror-imaged
in oily-puddled
potholes.

Memories In Yellow
In August, she hung yellow curtains in the window
She danced and sang along to the radio
She flung paint across a canvas and
Laughed when the walls were splattered
And when she awoke in his arms
They were bathed in the yellow light from the window.
In August, she put yellow flowers on the table
She smiled at the fingered shadows they cast on the floor
She sketched them on every page of a notebook and
Drew them in the margins of her newspaper
And when she looked into the mirror
She saw yellow flowers reflected in the glass.
In August, a yellow cat lived in the alleyway
She scratched its ears until it purred
She took photographs of the sunlight on its fur and
Thought about beginnings and endings
And, in the dark of the night, lost in dreams,
She journeyed with the yellow cat to desert sands.

The Yellow Brick Road of Life
Yellow means wisdom, bricks are challenges,
Getting off the yellow road is getting into problems, open spaces.
At the end of the yellow road we find what we always looked for,
The truth, the power is within us, not in any counselor.
We have to step through all the yellow bricks,
Solve each challenges, find wisdom, & never believe in the statistics.
Go through all problems, if we solve them well, we become wiser,
Weakling no longer, better, healthier, richer and stronger.
If we fall out of the yellow brick road we loose time,
Running away from life, stagnate, get into grime.
Some of us makes it back and learns more wisdom,
Some withers away in sickness, alcohol, drugs and do not blossom.
However, if we get to the end and we find the answer,
We'll continue on the yellow brick road as a seasoned traveler.
We'll find wisdom to face life and find true happiness,
By calling everything 'good', all turns into real success.

A Ballade of Waiting
No girdle hath weaver or goldsmith wrought
So rich as the arms of my love can be;
No gems with a lovelier lustre fraught
Than her eyes, when they answer me liquidly.
Dear lady of love, be kind to me
In days when the waters of hope abate,
And doubt like a shimmer on sand shall be,
In the year yet, Lady, to dream and wait.
Sweet mouth, that the wear of the world hath taught
No glitter of wile or traitorie,
More soft than a cloud in the sunset caught,
Or the heart of a crimson peony;
Oh turn not its beauty away from me;
To kiss it and cling to it early and late
Shall make sweet minutes of days that flee,
In the year yet, Lady, to dream and wait.
Rich hair, that a painter of old had sought
For the weaving of some soft phantasy,
