You can't trample infidels when you're a tortoise. I mean, all you could do is give them a meaningful look.

The Turtle Pool
After a cup of organic coffee
From the gift shop...I feel refreshed
My mind finally still enough to absorb
The serene surroundings of 'Rushton Garden'
The setting sun winks at my computer screen
Glinting through a canopy of tall oaks
The circle of birches sway in the August breeze
Their barks very chapped
Perchance in need of- plant vaseline
Seven bees keep us constant company
Stirred up by the coffee aroma, your minty scent
The bottle of orange juice in your knapsack
The water cascade is soothing
I stretch a moment and look deep into the pebbled pool
No turtles there, not even in the crevices
All I see is the reflection of rushes and the brown metal sign
'Please do not to poke or harass the turtles'
Where are they I wonder- adjusting my glasses

With in the tortoise
Don’t hate the rough and tough,
Into whom you can peep for a heart
As soft as a tortoise flesh.

Plaster of Paris
My beloved bought a plaster of Paris mold
A couple of tortoises saying 'Welcome',
From a Dollar shop
And we hanged that at the entrance of our Halcyon cottage.
At midnight my wife was fast asleep with a smile and I am sure that she dreams the Heaven,
But I am still awake with the nightcap.
I heard the tortoise's whisper
And the dialect is very familiar to me from my early births it seems.
'The old couple is very quiet like us and their offspring must have living abroad.
They too very slow and steady,
But the Man seems to be an alcoholic.
I sniffed while he was hanging us on the wall.
We must pray day & night for their welfare otherwise they could have bring a watchdog by throwing us to the nearby pond.

Emotions Walk
Sorrow took the bus
to town and met
Happy at the square
but Happy was too busy
so Sorrow went on
vacation with Solitude
who though a bit crazy
was quite a listener, dude
Sorrow decided to change
his name and so became
Relieved, Relieved ran
a marathon with Happy
hare, and Sorrow the
tortoise like snail, Relieved
was not in the perpetual
competition between the
Tortoise and the Hare
and reflected the scenery
better to the spectators there

Crisis Counselor
She was a coat of arms
seasoned for the job -- tough
and polished like tortoise shell.
When the women were tougher,
she'd tuck her advice-giving head
back against the executive chair,
let them try to fluff bent feathers,
watch them falling to their feet.
Then, her little turtle arms
would stretch out across the desk;
try to float a form --
a restraining order, maybe
a list of early warning signs --
but they'd keep on sleeping, sleep
hard through the sessions she'd spend
blowing on plastic ships, paper sails
rarely reaching port, and they would cry
like little children watching helpless,
dazed as she sunk their dreamboats,
sat on them, no coming up for air.
