In Every City, Town And Village

In every City, Town and Village the haves and have nots reside
But even the poorest of the poor have got their sense of pride
And it must be soul destroying for them to have to beg to stay alive
But pride has to take second place to the will to survive.

The wealthy growing wealthier and the poor growing poorer in the great social divide
And sad to say the gap between the haves and the have nots has never been so wide
Millions are dying of hunger and in camps for the homeless and Stateless overseas
At least thirty million people that's a lot of refugees.

Poverty is a relative thing some have been known to say
And the poor one in a prosperous Nation would be seen as wealthy in a poor Nation far away
But to live short of money anywhere is not a pleasant thing
'Tis seldom of the homeless soul that the balladeer does sing.

In every City, Town and Village there is inequality
And even in the wealthiest of Nations there is want and poverty
And though everybody in the World cannot be a millionaire
The unequal distribution of wealth seems so very unfair.

Wild horses we
Pricked at the wind,

That all the lord of our fortunes bought

Was poverty grass.

The paupered seed

21st century cries.

World has advanced in many ways, yet poverty still cries.
Looking at this old man with tears in his eyes.
Desperately searching for food love and clothes.
We all know what it clearly indicates and shows.

I see poverty in a rich man trying to break the law.
I see poverty in a well-educated man who thinks the subject is a bore.
I see poverty in a literate man who lacks respect for poor.
I see poverty in you yes you who wants more and more.

When Does Poverty Get Poor

Seated in the confinds of poverty, dressed in overall butten up to his neck
and close fitted shoes that elope the streets,
now becoming aware;
the influences of poverty from being the richest man alive captures the mass,
bent on ignorance, that shows no gain;
garbage bins becomes there prey,
cleaning windows of car is income, suffice the day,
supervised by poverty! and out scoring all the other delligates,
poverty also own the trade that teaches the longivity of hardship,
rested enough on a king size sidewalk spread with carboard denim
providing comfort paid for by poverty as a treat to the best laborer,
but poverty takes no break, seemingly a workaholic.......
proclaim'i'm a hustler'.and
Has the fleet of his employee's feet get wearsome, poverty dear not to retreat! but relent the surviving scares that ridge their free created flesh
at a cost!
classified bumbs they become victims to the slums, coke-cocaine, cannabis and rum!
enslaving the mindstead of the innocent and young, the future remains unchanged!
but who do they liberate, when life bounds them at the expense of living another day!
who showers their skin from the residue of misfortune and bad luck
moreso, who is to be blame,

You Will Find Poverty

You will find poverty in the U S and Great Britain, in France and in Japan,
In Canada and in Australia, New Zealand as well as Iran
In South America and Europe, Africa and all through Asia as well
Throughout the Human World some in their Earthly Hell
In the past decade millions of people of hunger have died
As the gap between the haves and the have nots grow wide
In the World's wealthiest Countries homeless people not rare
So many poor people for every millionaire
And the social divide growing wider by the day
And that the poor are growing poorer does seem sad to say
In The Human World poverty of varying degrees
In the refugee camps millions of refugees
And poverty not a stranger anywhere
So many poor souls in the big World out there.

Poem Of Poverty

Poverty, brothers, is a mouthful that's hard to swallow,
A bite that sticks in your throat and leaves you in sorrow,
When you watch the pale faces and rheumy eyes
Observing you like ghosts and holding out thin hands;
Behind you they lie, stretched out
Their whole lives through, until the moment of death.
Above them in the air, as if in disdain,
Crosses and stony minarets pierce the sky,
Prophets and saints in many colours radiate splendour.
And poverty feels betrayed.

Poverty carries its own vile imprint,
It is hideous, repulsive, disgusting.
The brow that bears it, the eyes that express it,
The lips that try in vain to hide it
Are the offspring of ignorance, the victims of disdain
The filthy scraps flung from the table
At which for centuries
Some pitiless, insatiable dog has fed.
