Roll Another Number

Its too dark to put the keys in my ignition,
And the mornin sun is yet to climb my hood ornament.
But before too long I might see those flashing red lights
Look out, mama, cause Im comin home tonight.
Think Ill roll another number for the road,
I feel able to get under any load.
Though my feet arent on the ground,
I been standin on the sound
Of some open-hearted people goin down.
Im not goin back to woodstock for a while,
Though I long to hear that lonesome hippie smile.

Many movements ago...
When the land seemed active,
With reactive participation.
Weed puffed and flowers worn in the hair,
Upon the heads of people who cared...

Singing 'Up Up and Away'.

Technophobia

What has technology done for me?
Well, for one—
It's made me unnecessarily happy,
But I'm very grateful for it.
I mean, my whole life has followed me on the computer,
Transposed to a screen—
The human condition to me, my experience,

Mississippi Limerick

On the raft down the Mississippi
were the wife and her husband Hippie.
When they brought back the melons
from the striped, shackled felons
they soon sank and the water was nippy.

But they had, for the voyage, prepared
and that is why both of them fared
rather well in the end
and this limerick was penned
so the story could truly be shared.

My Father's Hand

I like to wear a band around my wrist,
an amulet of copper, links of bling,
a hippy weave of cotton or dried grass.

Reminds me of a change my father made
as I grew up from toddler to walker;
crossing the road he stops holding my hand
and wraps his finger and thumb around my wrist.

My bracelet now is like the brag of a teenager leaving home
and flashing his cell-phone where father's number sleeps.
I wear my father's hand around my wrist.

A Child Is Angel Ever!

Any child is a sweet little angel anywhere!
Idea of angel would have evolved by child!
Child nature and Universal Spirit are God.

Born of love child is the sense of joy ever
That gives hope to family to pull on well
And the cheerful mood gives confidence!

Smiling as freshly bloomed flower child is
Cynosure of all everywhere moving all
To do great things at least to keep her joy!

We have to make the world better at least
For the child to live better in joy than us..
We have to do best things to make it better!

Child is God in the human form ever to lead
All in cheerful mood to cherish love and hope!

We don’t think the world can be Woodstock … Who’d think the world could be a perpetual carnival? But we do think that the world could rediscover values that used to be automatically produced by culture but aren’t anymore because culture is subject to the commodification in our world. Everything is sold back to us, targeted to demographics. What we have to do is make progress in the quality of connection between people, not the quantity of consumption.
