Taxi Dancing
I think that its high time we had a talk
I think that were making a big mistake
Ive been feeling lately the magic is gone
Are we just together for convenience sake, baby
I dont believe it (feeling)
I dont think thats true (tied down)
Itll just pass if we allow it to (need to break free)
Its just a stage were going through (they say clean cuts)
I think youre just restless for something new (heal much faster)
Baby, feeling like we pay our dime
And all we get in return
Is a piece of each others time
Are we just taxi dancing
Lost somewhere in a slow dance for two
And the band that was playing
Has finally stopped playing our favorite song
Are we just taxi dancing
Youre paying for me and Im paying for you
And are we holding on to a feeling with desperation
Dont know if youre right

I'd sing with Roberta Flack in a taxi if you called up and said she'd be in it.

Plexiglass
As your father peered in
at us through the plexi-glass wall
and haunted the banks
that skirted our home
I was holding you in the back
of my mind and I realized
that it was entirely possible for a taxi-cab
to cris-cross Paris at least eight times
in one night
before we'd even notice.

Further study of central nervous action, however, finds central inhibition too extensive and ubiquitous to make it likely that it is confined solely to the taxis of antagonistic muscles.

On Seeing Him Draw
Paper and pencil
And a blue-purple alma
Full, full and fragment.
Light grey
Same old spray;
Shadowed fainter on paper
That's your you,
Red-purple-blue;
Line, curve, angle
Depth
Depth
Depth.
Slumbering at solitude artery,
Taxied through limb and
Organ. Finally rising to
Centre Brain,
Motor neurones ringing,
Electerrific velocities,
Coursing down his fingers,
Transferring, jumping

Lost In The City
i thought i were bright enough to go anywhere
to meet anyone as i go
to explore the world on my own
but here i am in the city
feeling so confused
looking up and down
but there's no way out
everyone are passing by without stopping
there's no one i could turn to
i'm here yelling, screaming in the big city
tears burn my eyes
i called my friend emmanuela petit frere
but i no answer
my feet are tremble
my heart shook like an earthquake
my hand is cold as ice
what could i do
run, but where
cry, to who '
yell, at who

marie Devereaux
There once was a girl named Marie Devereaux
Who was born in a small village near Bordeaux
Marie’s Papa was master-maker of fine wine
He made nectar from “The fruit of the vine”
Marie dreamed of one day going to Paris
To dance the “cancan” in some fine cabaret
She’d take her best friend Margeaux with her
Altho Papa longed for Marie to learn ballet
At only 16 Marie looked more like twenty
A dark haired beauty with beautiful legs
She ran across town to fetch Margeaux
Nearly tripped on one of Papa’s wine kegs
Margeaux bowed out at the last minute
“I can’t leave my widowed Mom Alone
I’m the oldest of 9 children Marie
They’d starve if I were to leave home”

Handshake Drugs
I was chewin' gum for something to do
The blinds were being pulled down on the dew
Inside, out of love, what a laugh
I was looking for you
Saxophones started blowing me down
I was buried in sound
Taxicabs were driving me around
To the handshake drugs I bought downtown
To the handshake drugs I bought downtown
They were translated poorly, I felt like a clown
I looked like someone I used to know
I felt alright
And if I ever was myself
I wasn't that night
Oh it's okay for you to say
What you want from me
I believe that's the only
Way for me to be, exactly
What you want me to be
Oh it's okay for you to say

When a man and a woman see each other and like each other they ought to come together - wham - like a couple of taxis on Broadway, not sit around analyzing each other like two specimens in a bottle.

The White Lady of Balete Drive
In my country there's a frightening story
Called the white lady of Balete Drive
And though the witnesses there have been many
The story is a legend that's still alive.
They say there was a beautiful young lady
Who went riding a taxi quite late
Alone in that taxi and the driver took a fancy
She met rape and murder as her fate.
Although there was no proof of a body
And the mystery had for years eluded ending,
The street Balete Drive became eerie
For a white lady there was appearing.
Some say she would flag down a taxi and ride
Through the same route, the drivers say.
But from the rearview mirror, there's no one inside
And the drivers, in horror, would run away.

Rapid thoughts
Rapid thoughts come and go
and I don't even know
where they're from
or how they did come?
But I don't rack my brain anymore.
For they will come again.
And I will capture some of them
and hold on to them if I can.
Just like hailing a taxi cab
that goes right on by,
rapid thoughts are hard to catch
but sooner or later if you try
they'll stop.

Bora Bora Button
Riding in a taxi around the mountain side
I was in Bora Bora have a very funtime.
I was with Melodie and Razel who wore
their island gowns-
we were being driven all around Bora Bora's towns.
Taxi driver was sweet and Melodie said so
she gave him a button that sparkled not glowed.
He wore on his dress to the Pearl Jewelry store,
the pearl jewelry owner remembered Melodie
who she adored.
For we met her in the airports first class waiting room
she recognized Melodie first as Melodie sang her tune.
Jewelry store lady said "I saw you on a button when the
taxi driver came in—he was very happy to have met you both—
he is a true fan."
One day I will go back and visit, I hope his button is holding up
if not I will give many more he can wear around to the shops.

Music thumped out of the minibus taxi rank
Music thumped out of the minibus taxi rank
with a few indigenous females dancing
bare chest with whopping breasts
shaking along with the beat
with sweat glistening on their
half-naked bodies
and some of taxi drivers grinned
at the maids of their harem
displaying their wares
to the stares of passing
European men
and Japanese foreigners
with flashing cameras
and they clapped their hands to the beat.

My Lady The Taxi Driver!
My lady the taxi driver!
Driving so fast to take me to my destination;
For, the muse of my love was in your hands,
And, you were ready to take me along.
My lady the taxi driver!
With the works of your hands and,
Of the muse of your love;
But, you were ready to take me along.
To my destination,
With the works of joy! !
And, i do thank you for everything;
Because, you were able to take me along.

I am a big fan of the TV series Taxi which combined comedy and pathos better than any other show I've seen.

I Realized
He sat on the step asking for change
'I haven't got any spare'
pretend I don't care
wonder how he got there
ask him? Do I dare?
He tells me hes slow
at an all time low
kicked out of hostels
three times in a row
I tell him I've gotta go
my taxis waiting...
In the back seat
I speak to the girl I'm dating
'whats with the tramp? '
I tell her 'I'm loving, not hating'.
My flirting's not working
the taxi driver laughs
sees a couple, taking separate paths
life's like algebra, not making sense

I've Come to be One who Cries
I've come to be one who cries when the plane the guys built in shop class on the TV
news is going to fly and everyone's there, parents, little kids, the teachers not even
dressed up, the mayor and the principal making speeches, the shop teacher saying
these are real fine boys, the guys standing around saying it's gonna crash, putting
their arms around girls and the teachers don't stop them, the band playing the school
song while the pilot gets in and checks everything out like you're supposed to, finally
kicks it over and taxies to the end of the runway with a drum roll and everybody
screaming already, and it goes off the line like a dragster and takes off! The band
starts 'Off we go, into the wild blue yonder' and the guys are slapping five and grabbing
girls and telling each other it flies! that piece of shit flies!
