Inscription For A Stone Erected At The Sowing Of A Grove Of Oaks At Chillington, Anno 1791
Reader! behold a monument
That asks no sigh or tear,
Though it perpetuate the event
Of a great burial here.

Tombs are the clothes of the dead and a grave is a plain suit; while an expensive monument is one with embroidery.

The Age Old Terrapin
Wordless Calliope- what are you,
Standing there
As a blue monument: what do you mean
After so much tragedy;
The Roman Candles are only shooting forth
A jealous blue,
And another night is ruined into the world:
The monuments float unstructured:
The witches curse the baseball diamonds,
And the schoolyards aren’t even fully formed:
The air-conditioning escapes outdoors
And all of the football teams lose, lose:
And I lye weeping underneath the school bus
Even as it rains and the age old terrapin
Eats my muse-
My muse.

Naturally Superior
An ancient Cypress tree still stands
Beside a ruined monument.
Outlasts the works of human hands.
Nothing man made is permanent.
The tree is self sufficient.
It needs no other maintenance.
Apart from the nourishment.
The soil provides and rains enhance.
The builders of the monument.
Erected by them to impress
Are long since dead that's evident.
Outlasted by this grand Cypress.
The ancient tree's content to be.
Just what it is a simple tree.

On a hillock outside the city
On a hillock outside the city
a monument build from marble and stone
guards forevermore,
catching the sun’s
rays one new day dutifully.
It tells true stories
of a nation’s struggle to survive and be free
from oppression and a great trek
across the veldt and over high mountains,
of vicious wild men
and the belief
in the creator God
who came to aid
to save from total annihilation
when they called on Him.

Time factors for merit
Today’s computer is marvelous today.
Yesterday’s calculator was marvelous
yesterday.
Merit counts with time factors.
Exceptions are literature and monuments.

Disturbance At The Heron House
theyre going wild, the call came in
At early morning pre-dawn, then
the followers of chaos out of control
Theyre numbering the monkeys
The monkeys and the monkeys,
The followers of chaos out of control
theyre meeting at the monument,
The call came in the monument
To liberty and honor under the honor roll
theyve gathered up the cages the cages and courageous,
The followers of chaos out of control
The call came in to party central
meeting of the green and simple,
Try to tell us something we dont know
disturbance at the heron house
A stampede at the monument
To liberty and honor under the honor roll
The gathering of grunts and greens
Cogs and grunts and hirelings
A meeting of a mean idea to hold

Monuments and archaeological pieces serve as testimonies of man's greatness and establish a dialogue between civilizations showing the extent to which human beings are linked.

I'm thrilled of the acceptance I get abroad. The people are so hearty, warm and grateful and I feel privileged having seen so many countries and some of the greatest monuments.

Who could look on these monuments without reflecting on the vanity of mortals in thus offering up testimonials of their respect for persons of whose very names posterity is ignorant?

Leaving Impressions
Proverbs are quotes
Whose authors went to oblivion.
Most monuments
Bear names that have gone irrelevant.
Must you do something
To stay back and tell your name since then?

It is unacceptable that disabled veterans in Illinois rank at the bottom of the list when it comes to disability pay. We owe our disabled veterans more than speeches, parades and monuments.

Reflections Of Joy
The flower in the garden smiled-
The multifarious birds when chirped
When given alms to an ill- clad
Or received an infinitesimal unexpected gift
They all gave joy
Some flickering, some solidifying
But all eroded in distant horizon
None remained in eternity.
What glitters now are reflections
That sometimes gave joy
Indeed made the day
Their degrees, qualities, quantities varied
Did the same event fetch every time the same joy?
They escalated, became zero, decreased
The everlasting joy of reality
That abides in selfless services and creativity

Deathblow
at that very moment,
whilst erecting your precious monument,
comes a small gust of wind
and you realize—
it was a house of cards
all along.
