My feminism is humanism, with the weakest being those who I represent, and that includes many beings and life forms, including some men.

Let it never be said by future generations that indifference, cynicism or selfishness made us fail to live up to the ideals of
humanism which the Nobel Peace Prize encapsulates. Let the strivings of us all, prove Martin Luther King Jr. to have been correct, when he said that humanity can no longer be tragically bound to the starless midnight of racism and war. Let the efforts of us all, prove that he was not a mere dreamer when he spoke of the beauty of genuine brotherhood and peace being more precious than diamonds or silver or gold. Let a new age dawn!

A person who has sympathy for mankind in the lump, faith in its future progress, and desire to serve the great cause of this progress, should be called not a humanist, but a humanitarian, and his creed may be designated as humanitarianism.

Knee-jerk liberals and all the certified saints of sanctified humanism are quick to condemn this great and much-maligned Transylvanian statesman.

But basically what I like are the possibilities, and the fantasy element of the show. Not science fantasy so much, but fantasy, the humanistic elements and how people relate when they're in a dire situation or comedic situation.

One can't understand the Christian Right and similar movements unless one sees them as reactive - they're reacting to what they call secular humanism.

I am trying to make art that relates to the deepest and most mythic concerns of human kind and I believe that, at this moment of history, feminism is humanism.

It seems to me that in our lifetime we have passed from the wreck of liberal humanism to the beginning of a new recognition of dogma: isn't it rather tremendous?

Humanism was not wrong in thinking that truth, beauty, liberty, and equality are of infinite value, but in thinking that man can get them for himself without grace.

Internationalism on the other hand admits that spiritual achievements have their roots deep in national life; from this national consciousness art and literature derive their character and strength and on it even many of the humanistic sciences are firmly based.

If those committed to the quest fail, they will be forgiven. When lost, they will find another way. The moral imperative of humanism is the endeavor alone, whether successful or not, provided the effort is honorable and failure memorable.

Turning Backs Away With Shut Lips
There is a campaign that permits,
Denying truth an existence.
And if allowed to continue...
Threatens a valued humanness.
Blinded in stubbornness,
Our very presence will become dismissed.
Finding no refuge in silence...
Nor an ignorance lifted into eternal bliss.
And turning backs away with shut lips,
Has created today's array of conflicts.
In a convenience so many have come to enjoy...
Unapposed and unrestricted!

Whom Do I Belong To?
Sometimes I wonder
If there is a better species than me
But I found after so much search and hard work
Human being is the supreme
Whom I belong to……..
Then how I could do the deeds
Which can be done by the lower species.
I have the great responsibility and duty
To uplift the human dignity
As I belong to the same community.
How could I believe in those ideas
Where my humanism is wishfully lowered?
I could not bow down to any thing, to any one
The planets, the stars, the moon and the sun
All are suppose to serve the purpose of mine
I have the intellect
I have the language

For humanism also appeals to man as man. It seeks to liberate the universal qualities of human nature from the narrow limitations of blood and soil and class and to create a common language and a common culture in which men can realize their common humanity.

Not a Word of Criticism
Not a word of criticism
But confine to a world of humanism
Of starts and sky of moon light
Only love in same places at night
Some fasciations of unknown life
Knowing not about the double edged knife
Yet trying to touch the emotions and plight
Trying to find the ways and means right
Poets are not meant to please
They must come out and release
Whatever they can contribute
Whether in peace time or in dispute
They may share the burden
Contribute a lot to remove the hurdles
Create awareness by useful writing
Educate the people and discourage violence and fighting

Eye Witness
With faith I am committed to fulfill one wish!
To keep my blessings recognized.
With a focus on The Creator...
As an eye witness to be commanded.
And that is it.
With an attempt to keep this acknowledged.
Leaving the frills and temptations to tease,
To taste as I have done at times without hesitation.
And in prayer...
Discuss my mistakes made with The Creator.
Hoping my 'humanness' will be forgiven.
Since totally pious I am not!
I witness, I fumble and to this I admit!

Potato Heaven
Though a thousand miles away
I hear roots sprout from ground to ground
potatoes growing all around
likened unto Jacks magic beans
I'd love to watch them grow
simply because you told me so
you told me how healthy they can be
as part of this humanistic
depleting society
the varieties are plenty
soups, salads, casseroles
even pancakes too
potato heaven for me and you
the thought of a belly full
makes me want to go
a vacation, my family along
