Weep Day
I never went to the tropical island
Though everybody said they saw me there
And it wasnt me you punched a hole in
At the west german protest march
Simultaneous events dont happen
We are isolated temporally
And a part is never called the whole thing
Though it bothers us to know its so
Every man is made of two opinions
Every woman has a second half
And its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
Yes, its samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man (samba time for tambo and weep day for urine man)
I didnt write the words you hear me singing (didnt write the words you hear me singing)
I didnt sing the line before this one (didnt sing the line before this one)
You are not the one I was addressing (you are not the one I was addressing)
That person took a train to africa (africa)
Where he met the consulate from belgium
Who is now a buddhist in a cave
Who is pitching for the oakland raiders
Striking out the batter she became

Desperation Samba
Desperation samba (halloween in tijuana)
By: jimmy buffett, will jennings, timothy b. schmit
1985
This song brings to mind two things. first, an image of robert mitchum
Standing in the doorway of a bar in tijuana, and second, a line by
Thomas mcguane, my brother-in-law, from his book, panama,
"the night wrote a check the morning couldn't cash."
- used by permission of author
Halloween in tijuana
Full moon in my eyes
I wonder how in the hell i got here
Without a disguise
Should i take this last step
Or turn myself around
Or follow my intuition into that border town
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico [i want to dance in mexico]
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos [...with our friends]
Yo quiero a bailar en mexico
We do the desperation samba con nos amigos
Pretty girls they beckon

The Dance
See the picture in the hall
Framed in magic on the wall
Aint it funny how it glows
Whats on the inside
No one knows
What makes this picture
So inviting
To those who stand outside it
Maybe its the dancers
Or maybe its the dance
The dancer dances
Thousands fill the gallery
They pay their price to see a dream
They can make believe for free
Two hours worth of fantasy
Maybe they pretend
The pictures them
Or maybe they just love
To sit and blend
Tonight the picture has no frame

Dance dance dance
Dance in the moon light with,
All the stars in sight
Dance to the smiles
Dance in the shadows my love
Dance dance dance.
You may think I'm crazy
I'd dance in the moonlight
I'll dance when I want to
Please let me dance
Dance dance dance
Dancer take my hand to your,
Hand
I need to dance
Close your blue eyes,
Hold me in your arms and,
Dance dance dance.

We Have Danced Tango
We have danced tango in exploiting the earth
We stamp our feet as we move to explore
the whole dancing space on the stage
We only look into the gaiety in our own eyes
as we seek to declare ourselves the winner
in our mastery of the magical move of our body
We explore the mother earth, making believe
that the whole stage is ours to exploit without limit.
With the rhythm of our tango dance
we create atom bombs and other weapons
for the countless crowd
We choke the trees, plants and animals
with our inventions and chemicals
We stuff our water and air
with poison and carbon from our own hands.
We continue to dance our tango dance
claiming that the whole stage is ours.
And we dance and dance our tango dance

Everybody Dance (The Dance Of The Dead)
As the sun sinks upon the horizon,
As the dark night creeps in,
The dead dance.
On the streets they roam,
Silent,
Alone.
Everybody dances,
The saints and the sinners,
Everybody dances,
To the sound of the rhythm,
Everybody dances,
The dance of the dead.
The dance of the dead goes on,
And on,
Never stops,
Never slows,
Time does not matter to the dead.
Everybody dances,
The poor and the rich,

A Waltz-Quadrille
The band was playing a waltz-quadrille,
I felt as light as a wind-blown feather,
As we floated away, at the caller’s will,
Through the intricate, mazy dance together.
Like mimic armies our lines were meeting,
Slowly advancing, and then retreating,
All decked in their bright array;
And back and forth to the music’s rhyme
We moved together, and all the time
I knew you were going away.
The fold of your strong arm sent a thrill
From heart to brain as we gently glided
Like leaves on the wave of that waltz-quadrille;
Parted, met, and again divided –
You drifting one way, and I another,
Then suddenly turning and facing each other,
Then off in the blithe chasse.
Then airily back to our places swaying,
While every beat of the music seemed saying

All Africa
Feel me talk proud
Hear me talk loud
Of Africa, the black land
The Sahel and the sand
Among swarthy men
The rythm and rumba
The samba and the conga
In the land of the oil den
My Africa is beloved
Of the setting sun
In the evening, tired
I loll and have fun
With the sea in my ear
The wind is in full gear
I am happy and smug
My ridges are all dug.

La lyra es, telemann, suite
You were wearing a polka dot one piece
Got your pic
From that white sand beach
You look smaller this time
The sadness is not visible
On your face smiling at the
Digital camera
Got your pic
My own pick
Is the sound of the lyre
On polka dot
On a polka dot one piece
Hiding the bruises
In your breasts
There is really no sense
There is really no sense

Il Grande Baboomba
Belli come me
Non ne fanno ancora
Cho una cartola
Che fa paura
Dove vai, dove vai
E prestami la faccia dai
Che devo fare brutta figura
E dopo vado a mille allora
Arriva la bomba, oh yeah, il grande baboomba per te
La rumba e la tromba, oh yeah, il grande baboomba per te
Sani come me
Non ne trovi in giro
Cho una calamita
Per la sfiga
Chi e la star di questo show
E prestami la faccia oh
Che devo fare brutta figura
E dopo vado finche dura
Arriva la bomba, oh yeah, il grande baboomba per te
La rumba e la tromba, oh yeah, il grande baboomba per te

William Butler Yeats
To Helen Vendler
To accomplish the simplicity
Of words that learned how to dance
Without much support from a dancer
Who learned the steps of deserved living
From the vigor of his dancing mind.
Is it a dance or the dancing?
Is it to live or to be lived?
It was not the dancer, but the dancing;
It was not the life, but the living mind;
The truth of living found in dancing.
If he had chosen only to live,
The dance would have been much less lively.
It was the dancer who followed the dance;
The dance, living the dancer's life.

Look Who's Dancing
Look who's dancing
Look who's dancing
Look who's dancing now
Look who's dancing
oh look who's dancing
Look who's dancing now
Well, first the dance floor
was like a forbidden land
where people would never dare to go
but now everyone's doing it
I said it's a dance galore
Look who's dancing
Look who's dancing
Look who's dancing now
Look who's dancing
oh look who's dancing
Look who's dancing now
And some are dancing on their feet
some are jumping off the floor
and look at old Granny "B"

The Safety Dance
Ssss-aaaa-ffff-eeee-tttt-yyyy
Safety-dance!
Ah we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends dont dance and if they dont dance
Well theyre are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to, a place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind,
And we can dance
We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
Cause your friends dont dance and if they dont dance
Well theyre are no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to a place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance.
Francois!
Ah we can go when we want to the night is young and so am i
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
And surprise em with the victory cry

Jambo - Hakuna Matata
Jambo, jambo bwana - jambo, jambo bwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - you are welcome, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - take it easy, hakuna matata.
Can you hear the drum beat? hakuna matata.
Can you hear the singing? hakuna matata.
Can you see the dancing? hakuna matata.
If you want romancing. hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - jambo, jambo bwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
The scent of the sweet chacaranda, its nirwana, hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - have a good time, enjoy the samba.
Jambo, jambo bwana - take it easy, hakuna matata.
Can you hear the drum beat? hakuna matata.
Can you hear the singing? hakuna matata.
See them dancing. hakuna matata. and romancing. hakuna matata.
Jambo, jambo bwana - jambo, jambo bwana, hakuna matata.
