Cherry Pie
Hey
Yeah you
You had a dark, sexy vibe about ya
And a strange way you turn me on
The way you look said a lot about ya
As if you really didn't give a-unh!
I told myself not to fall for you
'Cause I can see that you don't follow rules
I should've just walked away
But your eyes were telling me to stay
Damn, why do the wild ones turn me on
Chorus:
It's like cherry pie, you can't deny it
Driving fast, you ought to try it
That's what it feels like
??? touch you everywhere
Breaking rules and didn't care
That's what it feels like
A real rebel kinda fella
The kind that I would never trust

Nag
Waltzing down street Mulberry
Barry and his noble steed saw Cherry
A pretty butterfly with blueberry
He took out his heartberry
And saved her face as sweet cherry
Cheery Barry danced in Mulberry
Love had come to maul Barry
Sweep him off his feet, his eyes stary
His hers, will you marry me?
Cherry married Barry in festivity
And made him merry in longevity
Time had come with activity
And left love lame in passivity
Less witty, less sweety, just Cherry
In poverty, lack of love and serenity
The time had come to maul Barry
Barreling him down with quarreling
And worrying and murmuring
Barry had in time learned to drown her voice with:
A crumbling rumble in a tumbling world

Cherry- Tree Inn
The rafters are open to sun, moon, and star,
Thistles and nettles grow high in the bar --
The chimneys are crumbling, the log fires are dead,
And green mosses spring from the hearthstone instead.
The voices are silent, the bustle and din,
For the railroad hath ruined the Cherry-tree Inn.
Save the glimmer of stars, or the moon's pallid streams,
And the sounds of the 'possums that camp on the beams,
The bar-room is dark and the stable is still,
For the coach comes no more over Cherry-tree Hill.
No riders push on through the darkness to win
The rest and the comfort of Cherry-tree Inn.
I drift from my theme, for my memory strays
To the carrying, digging, and bushranging days --
Far back to the seasons that I love the best,
When a stream of wild diggers rushed into the west,
But the `rushes' grew feeble, and sluggish, and thin,
Till scarcely a swagman passed Cherry-tree Inn.

Thoughts While Watching A Still Painting Of Pears And Cherries
upon a tray
are the still orange pears
below are the three cherries
and the wilting leaves
i like the way the pears'
way of seducing me into biting it
the cherries compete with
the enticement
the leaves wilt with envy
and here i am watching and not
even allowed to touch anything

There Was a Cherry-Tree
There was a cherry-tree. Its bloomy snows
Cool even now the fevered sight that knows
No more its airy visions of pure joy --
As when you were a boy.
There was a cherry-tree. The Bluejay sat
His blue against its white -- O blue as jet
He seemed there then!-- But now -- Whoever knew
He was so pale a blue!
There was a cherry-tree -- our child-eyes saw
The miracle:-- Its pure white snows did thaw
Into a crimson fruitage, far too sweet
But for a boy to eat.
There was a cherry-tree, give thanks and joy!--
There was a bloom of snow -- There was a boy --
There was a bluejay of the realest blue --
And fruit for both of you.
