Ever Rest

I stand upon a mountaintop,
and I yell out my name.
All I hear in reply is an echo.

The voice that comes back to me,
whispers upon the mountain’s breeze.
Its words sound hauntingly hollow.

But I cannot stop myself,
I continue to talk my twin in reply.
Telling her of my sorrow.

Her whispered words come to me,
reflecting upon my feelings.
In her voice I wallow.

But at least she is my friend,
Everest and her rocky minions.

an academic with aged masters
readings in English Literature
read a new poet in comparisons
blinkered in rules rigid time set
points fix of similarity difference
comparisons define what is not
lacks insight to see embryo what is
blinded eyes cannot see flame sun

blinded blink sight error shadow eyes
Petrarchan sonnet is Italian Literature
Shakespeare did not mirror fashions
inward journeys dwarf summit Everest
consider mark wonder soul penance
range human contemplation in reverence

Yielding

Time sets upon the arcane taboos
you wear the unknown fear
like cowries around your neck,

a bulletproof jacket did not work,
the fish in the brain
was the religion.

Whom do you trust now
in the caveful of seekers? They were demanding
every dropp of your blood from a waning relic.

Climbing Mt Everest was a raw deal,
dismantling the heights
like plasma, as naked as the ice on unmarked grave.

Hyper-sided, the priest was confused
in repetition of a prayer,
and the floor trembled in uplifting the god.

I have to cross the great ocean
with my little boat
which has thousand holes

The waves of the ocean are too high
than that of height of mount Everest
thousand Tsunamis are yet to come

The little boat gifted to me by my Lord
I do not find another boat
due to my carelessness there is thousand holes
no mechanics can repair it

Early Morning Light

November, all is grey
but the sweat on our lips, fire on our tongues,
the moist, subtle dew on the dawn

This love, not understated by the moon,
not by lyrics in a song,
the stars shine, first night
like Everest's kiss.

take my air

Have Hope

Have hope, friend
Because with it you can move mountains
With hope you can climb the Everest.
Nothing can stop you from you aims
When you have hope.
I saw you when you are down
Thinking that all mountain of life
Are too high for climbing
But with hope you can do it.
You think that all things are impossible
But with hope all things are possible.
I saw you when you cry
And shed many tears
Because many scorn you
They reject you because they thought you are failure
But have hope
Because the rejected might be the appreciated

A Bow And An Arrow..

The bent bows are the eye brows,
the Piercing eyes are the arrows,
Those who are shot, still trapped,
Punctured are not their thoughts,
Flowered arrow does its works,
Both are in trance for a while,
and then they are as cloudy as the nerds,
They seem to understand the facts,
But the doubts erupt as volcanoes,
Hold their hands, they douse it,
Arguments arrive after each sentence,
Bonded minds make an agreement,
They are the birds, flying high and wide,
Paired up as one to leave the legacy,
Their nests are clean and then dirtied,
Not their love, it is as white and pure as,
the snow of Everest.

Rondeau Reclimbing Childhood Tree

In rhyme reclimbing childhood tree we try
to paint trunk soaring through dark clouds to sky
as tot from cot in garden grot advanced
upon strong branch in innocence. Dream chanced
reclimbing childhood tree.

Tot tottering trotted to Spring sprig so spry
that, tempting, seemed to beckon on the sly:
imagination is thereby enhanced,
reclimbing childhood tree.

Child's venture wild seemed Everest so high,
as on a whim adventured, - tree limbs fly
towards the heavens where their branches danced.
Sage in old age keeps image deep entranced
recalling day way up above grass dry
reclimbing childhood tree.

In Head or Ahead - 1910

What lies in head, ahead what lies? Lies past
no hold retain spite hope sustaining scope,
while trial and tribulation very fast
fade phantom wraith when faith helps heart to cope.
New morn no mourning knows for past regrets,
old, cold and barren, sere upon the stem,
reach is not risk, no need for hedging bets,
cats' curiosity scoffs at 'condemn'.
Appearances as superficial waves
now spume, now fume, now perfume scent life's gift,
effect and cause from subterranean caves
soar, reassure, Miss, taken, sore, may lift
to summits far above mount Everest,
as sinfree judgement scorns worn second bests.

My Future In Khatmandu

MY FUTURE IN KHATMANDU

The old man read my palm
shook his head
and sighed.
You shall have no power, he declared.
Excuse me?
No power, he repeated.
No power and no children.
No power, no children and a short life.
Dust half as old as Jesus
fell silently around us
and water streamed
From sculpted elephant trunks.
Everest ignored us.
Massive tectonic plates

Not today but maybe tomorrow?

I want to climb Mount Everest
hang-glide over the Rockies
swim alongside Killer Whales
walk from Pole to Pole.
I want to go deep sea diving
discover shipwrecks in the oceans
go down the Angel Falls in a barrel
have a wrestle with a big bear.
I want to go fast in a Toboggan
chop down trees in a Canadian forest
soar high over a desert in a hot-air-balloon
be an Olympic downhill skiing champion.
I want to be an Astronaut in outer space
or tame Lions in a travelling circus
discover a long lost tribe in a jungle
have an island named after me.
I want to cycle around the world
and be a pilot of a powerful jet
I really want to do all these things
but I really don't feel up to it just yet!

The Sweet Vessels

Are you thirsty of love?
Then do come to the sweet vessels of my home and drink;
Are you hungry for love?
Then do attach yourself to the sweet vessels in my room;
Are you lonely without love?
Then do bring yourself to the sweet bed of roses of my love;
Because i do have enough to make glad always.

Like to drink the tea from Kenya,
Come to me before the hand of the clock changes;
And do not accept fake offers from others.
Come to me like Mount Everest,
Which is 8850 metres high;
And share my love like cocoa from Ghana.

I am the one to satisfy you,
I am the one who really understands who you are;
Because i do have enough to make you glad always.

What Else Can?

Beauty of Nature makes all love much;
Natural beauty has a special value ever;
Beauty of flower influences love sure....!

Beauty of sea, sky, misty mounts absorb all!
Cascading water fall of Niagara is lovely ever!
Peaceful snow mountains of Himalayas is blissful!

Height of Everest and depth of Pacific are exquisite!
Half setting sun and half rising moon are ever a wonder!
Seas and oceans with such beauty are wonder par excellence!

Colourful butterflies hopping from flower to flower
Surely reflect angels of heaven on earth forever!
Oyster with white pearl is flower unique of sea ever!

If such beautiful Nature does not kindle love, what else can?
If you fail to love such beauty, your life is a great waste sure!

I let her know about my windfall

Yes, I have promised you my Cleopatra.
If I win a lottery,
I take you a long trip around the World in three hundred and sixty five days.
Firstly to the Mount Everest and from there to Venice as you like gondolas.
Then straight away to Egypt as I like boating in the river Nile.
And you may be surprise when you see a Mummy in a Cairo Pyramid.
An old festered king; That resembles me.
Now you believe me darling once I told you that I was a king.
But you thought I was almost drunk.
Hey! I won that lottery but they refused to give money
As I do not posses my own identity.

* Sadly I dedicate this poem to the innocent victims and survivors of Onna.
[The Quake may finish off the fading town Onna where there's almost been a death in every house.

Where Clowns Are Outlawed

My concerns are not with you anymore.
However that infighting prepared me,
For emotional battle.
I felt if I could get you off my back...
I was prepared to deal with climbing Mt. Everest,
Barefoot!
Or be declared the first on my block,
To actually have clearing vision.
You are the best at what you do!
However...
I do not recommend the path I took,
Since others might find themselves
Looking over their shoulders.
I didn't have to do that once I decided...
To become a stowaway on a ship,
I knew
Would sail as far away from you,
To dropp me off on safe ground where clowns

Indian Tiranga (tricolour)

First unfurled was the Indian tricolor
on Everest the world's highest peak.
All the three colors are deliberated
to give some message and to speak.

Dark saffron, white and Indian green
three colors of Indian national flag
all in horizontal rectangular bars
top to bottom respectively placed.

Green band at bottom say to everyone
grow with greenery and agriculture,
White band in middle of it, gives us
message of peace, truth and culture,

Saffron say us be brave and courageous
don't hesitate to sacrifice if nation needs,
Wheel of twenty four spokes at centre
tells, on path of progress always proceed.

Lust born of love is full of passion!
Passionate love rules life longer;
Ageless passion never diminishes
Even when death approaches fast!

Caught by the web of lust we live

Heat, drought, rain, snow and storm
Can't change the decree of lust long!

Born of lust all can't escape its clutches
Albeit drunkards promise to stop drinking!
