the red of her dress, his tawny skin
fueling up the steps

I am only interested in bad taste if I can enjoy a gruesome tango or watch a movie that makes me cry.

The tango is really a combination of many cultures, though it eventually became the national music of Argentina.

Out of Step
It is not what is said that makes people miserable.
It is ignoring what has been said...
And paying the consequences!
There is no dance partner,
For one accustomed to foxtrots
The jitterbug and tangos...
In a ballroom full of those waltzing!
Being out of step,
Will surely attract attention and regret!
The competitors these days...
Are light on their feet!
And expected to glide with the rhythm.

Tango D'Amore
Staring at the one you love and perspire
Intense emotions confined in balls of fire
The black shirt covers his bold tattoos
While she stands and it's him she refuses
He challenges her love with a daring stare
Trembling she finally admits to the affair
Eyes lock and longing now rawly displayed
It's too late to be gentle and to persuade
The powerful rhythm of the Tango is heard
Surroundings are fading and no one stirred
The first touch is fueled with burning coals
Lovers standing still to surrender all controls
With a left step he is demanding the lead
Giving in she moves backwards as agreed
He pushes her but she comes back really strong
Both understand what's at stake and prolong
Movements are spontaneous and freely driven
The dance is a fight and no judgment is given

Philos' Beckon
Gone are the days of 'Jango'
Lizards running this fandango
You'll drink shakes of mango
Whilst with 'FED' we'll tango

Liber tango
You move like rain
Like drops too cold
Still burning the skin
You’re the sound
Of my heart
Something too fragile
Under my shirt
Beating fading out
You move like days
Summit hidden years
Oblivion scattered
Down the street
You’re the craving of time
Locked behind my door
Something too close
To my walk through it
My feet at war my heart at peace

Crazy Notes
I woke up the flowers before sunrise today
To hear about the imminent song
They seem to know your route to Eden
As wisdom paused too late and shuddered
Yesterday I was at the edge of the world
My silence around me did some crazy moves
The frangipani dew rained wet on my senses
Fragrant whispers as my sanity swayed with you
Our jasmines lit your radiance once more
Star-lights on me, your face from before sunrise
Your silver-hair kissed from my sated nights
Your arms slowly tightening their moon grip
You cant let go of me as yet, as we drench
Hand in hand in the rain, as I vapor in you
From days you are gone, till you return to us
Slivers of reality tangoing schizophrenic…

Vanity
My tangoing seemed to delight her;
With me it was love at first sight.
I mentioned That I was a writer:
She asked me: "What is it you write?"
"Oh, only best-sellers," I told her.
Their titles? . . . She shook her blonde head;
The atmosphere seemed to grow colder:
Not one of my books had she read.
Oh, she was a beauty ensnaring,
And I was an author of note;
But little I saw she'd be caring
If never a novel I wrote.
Alas for the caprice of Cupid!
Alack for the phantom of Fame!
I thought her just homely and stupid:
She didn't know even my name.
I saw her a score of years after;
She gushed as I took off my hat;

Even though I had pushed through the Tango album, it was just not a very good environment to be in on a daily basis. In many ways, this is the best time of my life.

Queen of tango
I swap ten of my stories for one letter from you.
Letter and gingerbread heart with a mirror in it.
I want to do the tango, I'm tired of chess.
We can: Hidalgo, guitar and Argentina are close
for the souls that fly across the ocean.
Chess is better: a game in which the queen checkmates the king.
But the queen wants to dance, not play.
Make a move and dance, and I'm going to watch.
The queen goes to the dance floor with a pawn.
Here is my castle shooting at your pawn.
The pawn falls; the queen is going for a new one.
The king resigns: Do not go for a new pawn, we will do the tango.

Pot of Gold
tell you what's gold
to the poet - it is when
he is walking in
the bamboo groove
and all of a sudden
the swivelling leaves
become friends, lipsing
welcome, their hands
doing a Thai dance
the sharp tipped fingers
in rows, waving, all over
tell you when the poet
has struck gold -
it is when the sea rushes
to shore, one luminous line
toppling over the other
metaphorising the the sun
and sky in dazzling ink
- that unreachable they are

The money part is one of the most difficult things. Coppola always said I should do a tango movie. If it hadn't been for him, I don't know where we would have gotten the money.

Explorations: XXIX
time,
in the form of rahu
quickly belched
and smacked its lips
as a finale to a great feast
the sky remained
a blank canvas
the last tango with the moon
came to an abrupt halt!

Gothic Romance
Dream and dance, dream and dance
As tango through the turquoise tide.
Dream, dream, flying at the flower's glance
As tango through the turquoise tide,
Keeping bumblebees in trance.
Mountain brooks in sunshine glance,
Glance and trickle their path to hide.
Love me, sweetheart, stay with me in this Gothic romance.
Romance me and stay, romance me and stay.
Do you hear the whistle's wonderfully song?
Stay, stay, this night we may search the milky way.
Do you hear the whistle's wonderfully song?
Wonderfully weird whistling demand the light of the day.
So let the tears go and they will flow away
And stay with me, when love may be so strong.
Just stay with me, sweetheart, love me in this Gothic romance.

Tango
takes two to tango
takes one
to ballet
it may take three to boogie
five or four to do the twist
but let me tell you friend
i am classical and i like ballet most
specially the split.

Tango The Night
Schwung gepflegt Im spare
Mit champagner ein coupl
Nur deine leidenschaft
Der leib
Die glut
Die kraft
I kiss your lips
I hold you tight
Your bodys swaying in the pale moonlight
We dance until the break of day
Well tango the night away
Ol
Was weit denn du, was liebe ist
Wenn alles du beim tanz vergit
Nur deine leidenschaft
Der leib
Die glut
Die kraft
I kiss your lips
I hold you tight

My Sister Rose
[ jerome augustyniak/natalie merchant ]
Big plans are being made for my sisters wedding day.
Well have a ball at the sons of roma hall.
Family, friends come one and all.
First the best man makes a toast to rocky and my sister rose,
A life of years free of tears. bottoms up and lots of luck!
'
Polka, tango everyone, cha-cha, mambo rose and rock alone.
Frankie rizzo and his combo play on.
Single girls all hear the call from a crowd at the back wall
And when the bouquet flies each one tries to be the best catch and next years bride.
Uncle sam and uncle joe take their places in the row.
Theyre standing by side to side for dollar dances with the bride.
Polka, tango everyone, cha-cha, mambo, rose and rock alone.
Hes a banker, shell be well off now.
Sister rose take your mothers place.
Trade your home and your maiden name.
For a list of vows and a veil of lace made a wife of you today.
Now they cut the five tier cake, that colucci, he can bake.
A frosted tower of sugar and flour for the couple of the hour.

Randolphs Tango
The senorita took off her bobby socks
She said shes gonna wear a skirt that shocks
Shes pulling out all the stops
To get her randolph back again
Meanwhile randolph, hes back at the ranch
Hes getting ready for tonights song and dance
Hes doesnt know he doesnt stand a chance
His last affair will be his last romance
The senorita will be there waiting
Dont go my randolph slow tango with me
Underneath the latin moonlight
The danced and seen a falling star in flight
To the strum of guitars she held him tight
She wants her randolph back again
Meanwhile its worthwhile for randolph to wait
till he gets the nerve then he wont hesitate
He doesnt know but hes just bit the bait
He just asked if he could make a date
The senorita will be there waiting
Dont go my randolph slow tango with me
