Quotes about hippie, page 2
Describing Woodstock as the "big bang," I think that's a great way to describe it, because the important thing about it wasn't how many people were there or that it was a lot of truly wonderful music that got played.

Stumble
Well stumble through the yard
Well stumble through the yard
Well stumble through the a-p-t
Well stumble through the yard
Force fields. explorer racing home, the ancient star.
Yellow mixed with golden hue.
Scan the graveyard, dead there be.
Ball and chain. ball and chain.
Ball and chain. ball and chain.
(repeat 1st verse 3 times)
It was round about midnight. hipster town.
Imagine going for a walk.
Things get around to taking place. its not a waste of time.
The rich got a little poorer.
Things get around to taking place. if theyre gonna happen at all.
Dont need that jazz. dont need that stuff.
It was round about midnight. hipster town.
It was round about midnight. hipster town.
(repeat 1st verse)

Hippy is an establishment label for a profound, invisible, underground, evolutionary process. For every visible hippy, barefoot, beflowered, beaded, there are a thousand invisible members of the turned-on underground. Persons whose lives are tuned in to their inner vision, who are dropping out of the TV comedy of American Life.

It Dont Smell Like Freedom!
'hippies, nuts, and the like...'
i went from hippie
to blue collar Joe
to respected businessman...
from renegade,
to family man,
church, and community.
and it took
getting ran over
by the corporate train,
to bring me back to myself!
primordial, raw, honest,
knocked down, get up,
hand in hand...
heretic, sacred dance,
moment to moment...

Always Hate Hippies
You are a hippie
You smell like skunk
I'm your arch-enemy
A middle class punk
Get out
Get a life
Get a job
Everyone's smoking grass
Everyone is an ass
Can't you afford to cut your hair?
Cause Frank and I will cut it off for free
Never trus a hippie
They'll sell you bad drugs

Hippie Dream
Take my advice
Dont listen to me
It aint paradise
But it used to be
There was a time
When the river was wide
And the water came running down
To the rising tide
But the wooden ships
Were just a hippie dream
Just a hippie dream.
Dont bat an eye
Dont waste a word
Dont mention nothin
That could go unheard
cause the tie-dye sails
Are the screamin sheets
And the dusty trail
Leads to blood in the streets
And the wooden ships

Born in 1966
Born in the year 1966,
It was a hippy society
with hippies and chicks.
Now if I add my birth
numbers up minus the one,
I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s done.
Anyways, it comes to the number 44,
They say it stands for Atlantis
in it’s ancient forklore.
Now I was around during Atlantis time,
I had to die for committing no crime.
I probably wrote a “peeve” poem
making a political statement that rhymed.
