Into Homelessness

into homelessness

today suddenly I woke up from deadness
I was dead peacefully
All a beautiful death

My home -your home could only be this beautiful earth-
So I presumed I also reign high on this beautiful earth like you

When you leave to live
from one country to another country
You say
one home to another home

I thence also drew a border in my mind
When people say you are homeless and
I am into homelessness…into bigger home called the BIG EARTH.
And my heart turning in that pulse into another heart so BIG

Dream - Refugee-free Civil Society

Refugee is some one who was
REFUsed the right to reside further
In the land to which he belongs
Got Evicted and guardedly placed
Elsewhere

When a new system of governance
Comes in replacing an existing one
This issue arises

War and one of its attendant social issues
Is managing refugees

A civilized society
Cannot claim it to be so
If it has in its midst
A number of refugees
And an exclusive camp where refugees stay

It is scar on the entire human race

The Animal Refugees

I’m the only elephant in Phnomh Penh
No more of my kind you’ll see
My wife ran off from the killing fields
She’s an animal refugee

I’m a Mekong crocodile from Vietnam
When the napalm scorched each tree

I swam to Laos at dead of night
I’m an animal refugee

I’m a slithery snake from Angkor Wat
Where the mountains churned the sea
Now tourists squat in my habitat
I’m an animal refugee

When people’s homes are ripped apart
There’s appeals on world TV
No one saves us. There’s little fuss
For an animal refugee.

Refugee

We got some thin we both know it,
We dont talk too much about it
Aint no real big secret, all the same,
Somehow we get around it
Listen, it dont really matter to me
Baby, you believe what you wanna believe
You see, you dont have to live like a refugee
Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have
Kicked you around some
Tell me why you wanna lay there,
Revel in your abandon
Honey, it dont make no difference to me
Baby, everybodys had to fight to be fre e
You see, you dont have to live like a refugee
No baby, you dont have to live like a refugee
Baby, we aint the first
Im sure a lot of other lovers been burned
Right now this aint real to you
Its one of those things you got to feel to be true
Somewhere, somehow, somebody must have

The Refugee

Oh, oh
Shes the refugee.
I see your face,
I see you staring back at me.
Oh, oh
Shes the refugee
Her mama say one day shes gonna live in america.
In the morning,
She is waiting,
Waiting for the ship to sail,
Sail away.
Her papa go to war.
He gonna fight,
But he dont know what for.
Her papa go to war
Her mama say one day hes gonna come back from far away.
Help me.
How can you help me?
In the evening,
She is waiting,

Only Of A Better Life

Just to keep on living from day to day
Most people are brave in their own sort of way
Just hanging in there when the going is tough
Survival for some it is quite hard enough
Millions of people by life knocked about
Living in war zones and Lands ravaged by drought
Millions sleep rough under the open sky
Who said success is there for those who try?
In refugee camps millions of refugees
Waiting for placements in Lands overseas
Yet in refugee camps they are destined for to stay
With their daydreams of a better life far away
Hunger and racism erodes their self esteem
Only of a better life they can dream.

We are also assisting the refugees who have fled across the border to Chad. As many of them have been subject to attacks by militia crossing from Sudan, UNHCR is mounting a major logistical operation to establish camps and transfer refugees away from the border zone.

I Am Not That Privileged

What is it you are thinking?

'I'm thinking of all the people,
Referred to as refugees.
When that hurricane Katrina,
Left 'those' people desperate...
Homeless and hungry.'

They were not 'refugees'.
They were citizens.

'Oh.
I see.
And why no mention of 'refugees' left,
Desperate, hungry and homeless...
By a wider devastation,
Created by the hurricane Sandy? '

A depiction of priorities have changed.
And obviously quite different.

The People That We Love (Speed Kills)

Speed kills coming down the mountain
Speed kills coming down the street
Speed kills with presence of mind and
Speed kills if you know what I mean
Got to feel - woke up inside again
Got to feel less broke more fixed
Got to feel when I got outside myself
Got to feel when I touched your lips
The things we do to the people that we love
The way we break if there's something we can't take
Destroy the world that we took so long to make
We expect her gone for some time
I wish her safe from harm
To find yourself in a foreign land
Another refugee outsider refugee
How's it feel she's coming up roses
How's it feel she's coming up sweet
How's it feel when it's all in spite of you
How's it feel when she's out of your reach
The things we do to the people that we love

The Enemy in the Mirror

We looked in the mirror, saw the enemy but he was disguised,
We cancelled hanging killers long ago and who was surprised?
Without referendums our politicians can do what they like,
Political correctness gone mad though we surely dislike.

We seem helpless in the face of refugees coming in old ships,
Sent the navy out to help them finish the long dangerous trips,
As though we had an obligation not to rock their boat,
And invite other refugees and anyone else they promote.

As we demonstrate a complete lack of leadership all around,
Can't stop a million or two illegal refugees inbound,
Used to counteract the abortions and increase population,
And none of this is mentioned in any of our education.

I could forget
Everything
I have had and not.

The Epanders OF Wars

The expander of wars are
White continents of dim
Thee the expander of disaster
Explosive mechanical
Thee rolled explosive to peaceful africa
For peace in reverse order

The expanders of wars are
The looters of our afrians resources
Return the golds to africa
The oil to libya
Thee poverish africa
The rejecter of africans
Free thee came to africa
Africans paid to her land

The wars expanders are
The destroyer of immemorial africa
Beautiful libya fell
South africa was possessed

We Refugees

I come from a musical place
Where they shoot me for my song
And my brother has been tortured
By my brother in my land.

I come from a beautiful place
Where they hate my shade of skin
They don't like the way I pray
And they ban free poetry.

I come from a beautiful place
Where girls cannot go to school
There you are told what to believe
And even young boys must grow beards.

I come from a great old forest
I think it is now a field
And the people I once knew
Are not there now.

Kevin Andrews

Kevin Andrews the Australian Minister for Immigration says African refugees don't adjust to life in this Land
That Australian ways and culture they do not understand
His excuse for accepting less of African refugees
Seems nothing but latent racism of varying degrees.

He says African refugees are not well educated I only quote what he say
His remarks smack of racism in a very latent way
Kevin Andrews will never be seen as a great
He's not the type of person we should celebrate.

With words he is clever as most politicians are
He just says so much without taking it too far
Just to appease the racist voters amongst the voters out there
And racists as we well know have never been rare.

The accusation that he is a racist of course Kevin denies
Though his feelings on the matter he can barely disguise
And though many with what he says may well agree
It does sound like latent racism to me.
