Nip It In The Bud
From the time the lights come on,
And from dusk 'til dawn...
You're giving me the lip!
I don't need the clock to ding-a-dong,
Since my peace is gone.
And in my ear you babble lip.
Why can't you nip it in the bud, baybay.
Why can't you handle it?
Nip it in the bud.
Why can't you take a walk as I lay?
Do whatever it takes!
But don't bother me with it!
I don't need the clock to ding-a-dong,
Since my peace is gone.

The Budding
The budding.
A rebirth of a season missed.
Spring arrives to lift spirits high.
Clear blue skies are witnessed...
As white clouds drift.
The budding.
Of flowers and grass and the leaves,
On Oak, Maple and Birch Trees.
Welcomes a lilting done of wind,
Introducing a Spring breeze to ease...
With a life that seems to be enjoyed again.
The budding.
Of familiar love known,
Yet hibernated in the Winter...
Amidst snow drifts.
And we smile and laugh and again forget,
That stress we welcomed to separate us...

To K.M.D.
In the buds, before they burst,
Leaves and flowers are moulded;
Closely pressed they lie at first,
Exquisitely folded.
Though no hope of change they felt,
Folded hard together,
Soon their sap begins to melt
In the warmer weather.
Till, when Life returns with Spring,
Through them softly stealing,
All their freshness forth they fling,
Hidden forms revealing. [606]
Who can fold those flowers again,
In the way he found them?
Or those spreading leaves restrain,
In the buds that bound them?

Your lips…
Wanting. What?
To say
Rose buds…
Oh dear
Bloom for us.
Your lips
Saying go not
In stealth
O Rose buds
We’re for your
Blooming blush.
Your lips
Waiting to
Murmur the

And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.

Bud Johnson, God rest his soul of fame, a tenor saxophonist. Bud was always a big, big, big booster of mine and he always when I first met Bud in Pittsburgh when he came through there, he heard me sing and he wanted me to come to Chicago.

The scorching sun
Prying eyes are the scorching sun.
Prying eyes dry the sprouting love.
Prying eyes fail the budding love.
Yet there spring fresh sprouts and buds.

The 'budding' Poets
The 'budding' poets in early teens
Pen down here lyrics on love!
They write lines on ravishing beauty and craving eyes!
The 'budding' poets here flee from care
And embrace the images silhouetted
On the canvas of their dime-heroines of infatuations!
My past asks me, ' What about your lines in my times? '
I keep my eyes closed for some time and answer him,
' I was innocent of course, but a coward too then'.
I see the budding poets marching ahead
Enchanting the magic of sweet love and nectar
And I applaud them for their courage.

Nip This In the Bud and Split
Let's take a 'trip' over the border.
And spread our wings quick,
With unlimited ease.
To fly above what others believe...
To soar,
And reach.
And...
Let's take a 'trip' over the border.
And spread our wings quick,
With unlimited ease.
To fly above what others believe...
To soar,
And reach.
You and I out of hiding can be free.
To get rid of any darkness...
Holding onto us to suppress.
And...
You and I can slip from a safety net.
That has us boxed in perceiving,
