Epsilons In Nail Salons

Go to work, get paid then spend it fast
You need more stuff cuz things don't last
forever. - Hurry! Run to the store!
Corporate slaves and Wal-mart whores
In this world it would be a crime to wait
Impatient infant - - look what you create
A life controlled from start to end
A shopping cart - your new best friend

Alphas; Betas; Deltas too
In 1930, Aldous Huxley knew
'End, don't mend! ' - 'Just buy it new! '
Push a button and it's done for you.

We sit possessed, engulfed in our distractions
Stimulation = Satisfaction
The joint in your mouth; the beer in my hand
American Idol; Brand Names; On Demand (and)
High-tech phones stuck to our heads
The drones; the clones; the walking dead

Rainbow Blues

Through northern lights on back streets ---
I told the coachman, ''just drive me on,
Its the same old destination
But a different world to sing upon.
So he threw back his head and he counted.
I jumped out about five to nine.
And I waved at the stage door-keeper ---
Said, ''mister, get me to the stage on time.
Oh, but the rain wasnt made of water
And the snow didnt have a place in the sun
So I slipped behind a rainbow
And waited till the show had done.
I packed my ammunition.
Inside the crowd was shouting, ''encore,
But I had a most funny feeling ---
It wasnt me they were shouting for.
So when the tall dark lady smiled at me
I said, ''oh, baby let us go for a ride.
And we came upon two drinks or four
And popped them oh so neatly inside.

A Country God

WHEN groping farms are lanterned up
And stolchy ploughlands hid in grief,
And glimmering byroads catch the drop
That weeps from sprawling twig and leaf,
And heavy-hearted spins the wind
Among the tattered flags of Mirth,—
Then who but I flit to and fro,
With shuddering speech, with mope and mow,
And glass the eyes of Earth?

Then haunting by some moanish brook
Where lank and snaky brambles swim
Or where the hill pines swarthy look
I whirry through the dark and hymn
A dull-voiced dirge and threnody,
An echo of the world's sad drone
That now appals the friendly stars—
O wail for blind brave youth whose wars
Turn happiness to stone.

Octopus

Trip to heave and ho, up down, to and fro
You have no word
Trip, trip to a dream dragon
Hide your wings in a ghost tower
Sails cackling at every plate we break
Cracked by scattered needles
The little minute gong
Coughs and clears his throat
Madam you see before you stand
Hey ho, never be still
The old original favorite grand
Grasshoppers green herbarian band
And the tune they play is in us confide
So trip to heave and ho, up down, to and fro
You have no word
Please leave us here
Close our eyes to the octopus ride!
Isnt it good to be lost in the wood
Isnt it bad so quiet there, in the wood
Meant even less to me than I thought

Seventeen Again

Yay though we venture through
The Valley of the stars
You and all your jewelry
And my bleeding heart
Who couldn't be together
And who could not be apart
We shouldve jumped out
Of that airplane after all
Flying skyways overhead
It wasnt hard to fall
And I had so many crashes
That I couldn't feel
At all...
And it feels like
Im 17 Again
Feels like Im 17
Times might break you
God forsake you
Leave you burned and bruised
Innocence will teach you

IDP: Prisoner with out number

walking barefooted without any direction in the humid
dry land, under a wrecked super tank; flesh blood smell racking
the firing canon aim to the mountainous camps of cave fighters,
arms only with their AK’s and rocket lancer, with strength of
dream that freedom be achieved only in exchange of life

wounded as the exchange of bully fire, with high power
machine gun and Apache Helicopter, firing without mercy, to
the fighter of their own land, the night becomes a day of blows
of fire, as the day turn into a living inferno of black of clouds
paving the riders of death to haul as many as the sand

thirst drifted my foot, the heat of the sun burn my forehead
and my skin, waiting the vulture to come with the sweet saliva
the Scorpion hunting for a lunch, the sting of death march to the
doorstep in the fuming smoke of the barrel and the bullets with
out cause, leaving death bodies, in the rocks and dunes, while
the silent of the star watch the night fall in the desert I behold i
lay my hand

Boulder To Birmingham

(emmylou harris/bill danoff)
I dont want to hear a love song
I got on this airplane just to fly
And I know theres life below
But all that it can show me
Is the prairie and the sky
And I dont want to hear a sad story
Full of heartbreak and desire
The last time I felt like this
It was in the wilderness and the canyon was on fire
And I stood on the mountain in the night and I watched it burn
I watched it burn, I watched it burn.
I would rock my soul in the bosom of abraham
I would hold my life in his saving grace.
I would walk all the way from boulder to birmingham
If I thought I could see, I could see your face.
Well you really got me this time
And the hardest part is knowing Ill survive.
I have come to listen for the sound
Of the trucks as they move down

That Was Lulu

Music by richard marx
Lyrics by dean pichford
When you woke up this morning
On your front lawn
You had a smile on your lips and
Your wallet was gone
You remember some girl
But the rest is all a blur
Well, youre not the first one to fall under
Her spell
I know dozens of guys whove been there
As well
Theyve got scars to show
And the owe em all to her
That was lulu
Did she fool you?
That was lulu
That aint legal
That aint voodoo
That was lulu

Cocaine

Take a snip of this then play a little riff, don't be afraid to try
Don't need no airplane to get off the ground there's more than one way to fly
Have a little taste, Baby, don't hesitate, every hit don't have to be a song
Gonna take you to the cosmos, Baby, and boogie with you all night long
Riding out on a rail, feels so fine
Talking 'bout that cocaine express, mainline, got a good head of steam
Never lived down on the Bayou, but I been busted in New Orleans, New Orleans
I can roll all night with you, Baby got a land? I'm just in from Marin
Can't get it off, but I can get it on and we'll be truckin' 'till the break of day
Here comes the doo-dah dealer on his Hog three wheeler, 250 pounds of sin
He's made your car the main attraction. you wanna beef up his action
But he will cut you, before he would cut you in, the only place to win
Riding out on a rail, feels so fine
Talking 'bout that cocaine express, mainline, taking a midnight cruise
Never lived up in the Northlands, but I been snowblind out in Sandford Dew
Snowblind in Sanford Dew, that's enough for you, snowblind

Leaves On The Line

Britain's debt hits a trillion pounds,
What we owe is rising fast,
The response from Cameron really astounds,
Everything's the fault of the past.

Youth unemployment hits a record high,
To the chancellors eternal shame,
His excuses would make a grown man cry
He claims their policies are not to blame.

Billions of pounds of new spyplanes are binned,
Aircraft carriers without one plane,
Our armed forces are being skinned,
Having no defence is utterly insane.

Utility bills are out of control,
As people are dying from the cold,
Culling the weak is this government's goal,
Be worried if you're disabled or old.

Dust Bowl

[ music: robert buck/words: natalie merchant ]
I should know to leave them home.
They follow me through the store with these toys I cant afford.
Kids, take them back, you know better than that.
Dolls that talk, astronauts, t.v. games, airplanes, they dont understand and how can I explain?
I try and try but I cant save.
Pennies, nickels, dollars slip away.
Ive tried and tried but I cant save.
My youngest girl has bad fever, sure.
All night with alcohol to cool and rub her down.
Ruby, Im tired, try and get some sleep.
Im adding doctors fees to remedies with the cost of three days work lost.
I try and try but I cant save.
Pennies, nickels, dollars slip away.
Ive tried and tried but I cant save.
The hole in my pocketbook is growing.
Theres a new wind blowing they say, its gonna be a cold, cold one.
So brace yourselves my darlings, it wont bring anything much our way but more dust bowl days.
I played a card in this weeks game.
Took the first and the last letters in three of their names.

The Night Santa Went Crazy

Down in the workshop all the elves were makin toys
For the good gentile girls and the good gentile boys
When the boss busted in, nearly scared em half to death
Had a rifle in his hands and cheap whiskey on his breath
From his beard to his boots he was covered with ammo
Like a big fat drunk disgruntled yuletide rambo
And he smiled and said, with a twinkle in his eye,
merry christmas to all, now youre all gonna die!
The night santa went crazy
The night st. nick went insane
Realized hed been gettin a raw deal
Something finally must have snapped in his brain
Well, the workshop is gone now, he decided to bomb it
Everywhere youll find pieces of cupid and comet
And he tied up his helpers and he held the elves hostage
And he ground up poor rudolph into reindeer sausage
He got dancer and prancer with an old german luger
And he slashed up dasher just like freddie krueger
And he picked up a flamethrower and barbecued blitzen
And he took a big bite and said, it tastes just like chicken!

Good News- Bad News

Bad news-I am driving along and a car is bearing down me from the rear.
It keeps coming.

Bad news-The car hits my little car at 60 miles an hour-bam!

Good news-I keep control of the car for a second or two
then the car begins to skid.

Bad news-The car skids, swerves and overturns, flipping, flipping.
The world outside the wind shield revolves upside down.

Bad news-Things go blank and I see water coming into the car;
I had landed in the river.

Good news-I am sinking but not yet under water.

Bad news- The water starts to come in faster and faster.

Bad news- The water keeps coming in the car. It is sinking.
It is over my head.

Harrys House-centerpiece

Heatwaves on the runway
As the wheels set down
He takes his baggage off the carousel
He takes a taxi into town
Yellow schools of taxi fishes
Jonah in a ticking whale
Caught up at the light in the fishnet windows
Of bloomingdales
Watching those high fashion girls
Skinny black models with raveen curls
Beauty parlor blondes with credit card eyes
Looking for the chic and the fancy
To buy
He opens up his suitcase
In the continental suite
And people twenty stories down
Colored currents in the street
A helicopter lands on the pan am roof
Like a dragonfly on a tomb
And business men in button downs

Wearing A Raincoat

Wearing a raincoat is flying around in a plane
Made of a raincoat
But when you think of that
You hurt your mind
And you'll need a friend
To talk you down
Needing a friend to talk you down
Is food that comes from a pipe
But when you hate the food
That comes from a pipe
You will turn to drugs
To help you sleep
Turning to drugs to help you sleep
Will only lead to sleep
And sleeping is a gateway drug
To being awake, being awake, being awake again
Being awake is swimming around in a lake
Of the undead
And the undead are like
A bunch of friends

The Tyre

Just how it came to rest where it rested,
miles out, miles from the last farmhouse even,
was a fair question. Dropped by hurricane
or aeroplane perhaps for some reason,
put down as a cairn or marker, then lost.
Tractor-size, six or seven feet across,
it was sloughed, unconscious, warm to the touch,
its gashed, rhinoceros, sea-lion skin
nursing a gallon of rain in its gut.
Lashed to the planet with grasses and roots,
it had to be cut. Stood up it was drunk
or slugged, wanted nothing more than to slump,
to spiral back to its circle of sleep,
dream another year in its nest of peat.
We bullied it over the moor, drove it,
pushed from the back or turned it from the side,
unspooling a thread in the shape and form
of its tread, in its length, and in its line,
rolled its weight through broken walls, felt the shock
when it met with stones, guided its sleepwalk

Stop Acting! We Have Issues To Address!

More than hundred million of our people,
Live in luxury. The luxury you can't find in any castle,
Of a European country, as the labor law is strict there,
Here in my father's land India, abused are our workers,
Who can work nonstop for the peanut salaries and old clothes,
Modern day slaves bend their heads to the floor,
Most of them not protected against ills and injuries,
Mansions and factories filled with cheap laborers,
Where the dogs are well fed, cared and have a clean place,
To call it their home, but the children of our brothers,
Have waited silently for a new dawn for many years,
During the visit of our ministers, our roads are spotless,
During inspection days, everything is kept in order to impress,
During the arrival of foreign dignitaries, the dramas enacted,
To show the prosperity of the poverty stricken political ideology,
When climb down the steps of the red carpeted,
Pathway of the airplane staircases, everyone with a nose,
Can smell the decaying of the uncollected rubbish,
Few kilometers away, the sides of the modern and old roads occupied,
By the homeless, who have nothing to say it their own,
