Farkash

Cincinnati! !
Love fever;
The new age,
To save a life,
To save my life,
To save your life,
Keep it up!
Keep on moving,
Freeze,
Breeze,
Lead, head, dread;
Back-shot,
Steppers,
Bread, mead, read;
Dynamite! !

Version,
Roots,

Catch Another Butterfly

This song appears on three albums, and was first released on the rhymes and reasons album, and has also been released on the this is john denver and the country roads collection albums.
Do you remember days
Not so very long ago
When the world was run by
People twice your size
And the days were full of laughter
And the nights were full of stars
And when you grew tired you
Could close your eyes
Yes the stars were were there for wishin
And the wind was there for kites
And the morning sun was
There for rise and shine
And even in the sniffles
Kept you home from school in bed
You couldnt hardly
Stay there after nine
And I wonder if the
Smell of mornings faded
What happened to the robins

Boston Hymn

The word of the Lord by night
To the watching Pilgrims came,
As they sat by the seaside,
And filled their hearts with flame.

God said, I am tired of kings,
I suffer them no more;
Up to my ear the morning brings
The outrage of the poor.

Think ye I made this ball
A field of havoc and war,
Where tyrants great and tyrants small
Might harry the weak and poor?

My angel, his name is Freedom,--
Choose him to be your king;
He shall cut pathways east and west,
And fend you with his wing.

Did you see?

‘Did you see my father alighting?

I failed to catch in dark lighting”

Saw a little girl with beautiful flowers,

Felt so happy but with no answers,

Why did you come alone?

Why you are not with some one?

No, I am not alone but with friend,

He always wishes and messages send,

Babies are Heroes In Rysai

Babies are being bombarded in the mangers.
Somebody is urgently needed to stop the malefactors.
Babies are being slaughtered inside the wombs.
Holms is not a town, it is a makeshift cemetery,
The victims have no home, no market and no pharmacy,
Everyone is afraid to venture outside. The bombs
Are fallen non-stop. The rockets are bulldozing
The buildings, the hospitals and the schools.
The thugs have no respect for nobody. Those fools
Are worse than mad vampires; they are sucking
The blood of the towns. Any males over twelve years
Old are summarily executed. When will the vespers
End? When will the civilized world intervene?
Which gutsy superpowers will stop this genocide?
Oh! God Almighty, send the drones and the eagles
To neutralize this chaos. Send the planes and the seagulls.
This siege is inhuman, surreal and obscene.
Too many human beings are dying. This is sad!
No one can explain how an army of thugs
Can get away with these murders? Those slimy frogs

Scarecrow People

Hope you enjoyed your flight,
In one of our new straw aeroplanes,
Youll find things here are just like what youre used to.
Theres lots of waste and razor wire,
And no one gives a damn about the land,
We just stand around and stare like you folks do.
For we aint got no brains,
And we aint got no hearts,
Its just that wild old wind that tears us all apart.
Were the scarecrow people,
Have we got lots in common with you.
And if you dont start living well,
Youre all gonna wind up scarecrow people too.
Hope you enjoyed your meal,
Its only gas and chemicals,
We thought that youd prefer something not nature made.
Now while youre here can you advise us,
On a war wed like to start,
Against some scarecrows over there, a different shade?
For we aint got no brains,

What I Meant By Being Sincere

Let me nuzzle up to your gorgeous golf
Courses,
To the bows in your swayed esplanade:
Let me ruin endings and
Airplanes for you:
Let me talk straight out; Oh, gosh, I’d like
To say your name,
But who are you listening to now,
The baby tugging your long list of satin
Accomplishments;
I’ll just sit here and refrain as one of your hounds.
You help me put down the gun:
And I can pretend for you to be on a ride in the sea,
Each of your sisters nibbling our gunny sides,
My toned biceps scrimshawed with chorus
Lines from Tex-Arkana; say that you remember me
Now, some gumshoe out lost around the
Terrible borders of high-school,
And I’ll gallop you all the faster to the dinner of
Scallops and sweet disaster,

Winthrop

When we get back to winthrop
A few miles from the airport
On a plastic chair
On a deck where my friends live
I watch the taking off airplanes
I watch the ocean waves crashing
With all of this movement somethings got to give
Down at the high tide
Passed down through the family
The fishermen gather to complain about the catch
They talk about time
They talk about tides
The pull of the moon and the coffee deep night black
And I listen to them
And I listen to you
And for everyone there is something never coming back
But for all that weve been through
For all that weve promised
Your wayward direction seems insensible
Words fall off like breathless fish

Old School Management 0123

Director D. described his drive
as 'urge to acquisition',
and so did nothing but contrive
to prop up his position:
his happiness would still derive
deferring all decision.

To drone as master of the hive
implies some sense of mission,
and so he primed his poisoned chive
with silent, spot precision,
colleagues who tried to look alive
were stifled by suspicion.

To toil four hours, sometimes five,
was felt an impositon,
for lunch, however, he'd arrive
poor corporate politician.
In order corpulence to shrive,
the firm paid his physician.

Airline To Heaven

There's an airline plane
Flies to heaven everyday
Past the pearly gates
If you want to ride this train
Have your ticket in your hand
Before it is too late
If the world looks wrong
And your money's spent and gone
And your friend has turned away
You can get away to heaven
On this aeroplane
Just bow your head and pray
Them's got ears, let them hear
Them's got eyes, let them see
Turn your eyes to the lord of the skies
Take this airline plane
It'll take you home again
To your home behind the skies
Well a lot of people guess
Some say no and some say yes

Sky Soup

The birds
Cutthrough
The blue—
Thick, azure porridge
Of the astral plane.
Steam building,
Billowing in
Cumulonimbus clouds
Blowing in thhhhecool front.
The aluminum wings
Of an airplane
Tear a ____
Through it allllllllllllllllll,
` The stew drains simmering—
A whirlpool bent around the jagged edge
Of the sunbeams emanating
From the soup
We call a sky,
It all mixes
With alphabet letters

Driver 8

The walls are built up, stone by stone,
The fields divided one by one.
And the train conductor says
take a break driver 8, driver 8 take a break
Weve been on this shift too long
And the train conductor says
take a break driver 8, driver 8 take a break
We can reach our destination, but were still a ways away
I saw a treehouse on the outskirts of the farm.
The power lines have floaters so the airplanes wont get snagged.
Bells are ringing through the town again,
Children look up, all they hear is sky-blue, bells ringing
And the train conductor says
take a break driver 8, driver 8 take a break
We can reach our destination, but were still a ways away
Way to shield the hated heat.
Way to put myself to sleep.
Way to shield the hated heat.
Way to put myself, my children to sleep.
He piloted this song in a plane like that one.

And then the voice came out

Some heard the sibilant siffling of Cerces' hordes
Some heard the oration of a great states person
To others the sounds resembled the squabbling of high flying geese
Or a yard full of primary school children
A monotonous drone buzzed in some ears
While the in-crowd claimed to have witnessed
The auditory incantations of a collapsing wizard
As yet others grooved on the suspended Om
Of an old Om Mane Padme hummer

Was it not Swami Satchitananda-ji who said,
Way back in '72: In every home there is an OM
His Om lasting a full half-hour - for effect
And the crowd totally blissed out on the vibe, man

To the fringe element, hallucinatory displacements of air waves
Yielded harmonics akin to the World beat

Of course there were those who heard speak
The devil incarnate

Radio Silence

Signal fading, listen to what I'm saying
Testing, testing
This better be worth all of the breath I'm wasting
Maintaining radio silence from now on
Barricaded in the talk radio station
Hostage taken
The red "On Air" light shines on
Something cheaper that passes for free speech
Will have to do
Hear him coming through loud and clear
Trickling in your ear
He'll tell you anything you want to hear
The tape starts running
He's going to tell you something
The strings start strumming
Another humdrum conundrum
Signing off now
Maintaining radio silence from now on
But there's one thing I should have said
"The hostage will end up dead"

Something About Insight, Intuition and Awareness

There is something about insight, intuition and awareness
That can not be taught.
Like common sense is not a family trait.
It is either there or it isn't.
Experience in observation seems to be a prerequisite.
And some folks are born to walk around,
With their heads in the clouds.

I have actually had conversations,
With those who can lie easily with a straight face.
And then embellish that with something else.
Not aware they do not have to split their lips...
Before my radar detects dishonesty about to arrive.
Dressed elegantly in full BS.

There is something about insight, intuition and awareness...
That uplifts a consciousness that is far less expensive,
Than daydreaming during a college lecture.
And much more adventurous,
Than sitting to listen to a professor's drone!

This Is No Horror Fairy Tale Poem

This is no fairytale poem this is the reality
Of the twenty first century,
The era of religious political minds gone mad
Preying on the young manipulating robbing their souls
As,
Graveyard eyelids close and open over compassionless eyes,
The young female drone obsessed with promised martyrdom
Moves into the centre of the busy market place.
Her young slim body is now swollen to an obese size
With the aid of dynamite strapped to her body
Hidden under her dark clothing of lies,
Make no mistake here moves a killer
A mini 911 creature a black plague,
A killer of women and children all innocent souls
Where the Hell is the route of this insanity
Is it the Aztecs digging hearts out for the sun God?
The Romans digging roads in other people’s back yards?
Gengus Khan preaching his beheading technique?
Each side of the many faces of man
Pointing the trigger finger at each other,

There Is Never A Home For A Vagabond

you arrive from a long trip
you take the stairs back home
the sound of the jet plane
still hounds your ears

you step into a garden
and the grass tells you
with each
blade that you have not arrived
at all

it is always strange
always
you miss home but there is really no home
when you step upon
the floor of the house
you plea for
a home but there is really no home

no little boy meets you and calls your name

Which Side Do You Belong To?

i hear the cry of the hawk and the rabbit,
i feel the talons tearing flesh.
i smell gunpowder, and bodies burning,
i hear the sound of boots on the road.
the groan of the tanks turning without faces,
the buzz of the drones flying above.
the mechanical order, as life is destroyed,
the cry of babies on their mother's dead breasts.
the mourning sisters who bury their brothers.
light making shadows on all the colors of skin.
the shout of the flags, the bowls left empty.
the bolt of the rifle, the knife slid from the sheath,
the sound of the falling just before impact.
the cry for freedom on the lips of the martyr.
the pages of the holy book turned down forever.
the prayer of justice over equality's grave.
the soldiers of poverty who fought against all odds.
the sound of dead elders drawing in their breath.
the wind named liberty howling and lost.
the fingers of the child touching dead lips.

When I Get Home

I cant kiss the telephone, I cant hug your picture
And these postcards just remind me how far away you are
Theres two thousand miles of highway lyin between us
But the way I feel tonight it doesnt seem like all that far
'cus when I get home
I know the first thing were gonna do
When I get home
Im gonna turn my body loose on you
Its been so long, Ive been so true
I want you when I get home
If I could Id order you for breakfast every morning
Thered be a headline story about you in my usa today
Every in-flight movied feature you and all your glory
And into your friendly skies, this airplane would carry me away
'cus when I get home
I know the first thing were gonna do...
Now you could move and leave no forwarding address
You could be living on the moon
But I know just where you are, I dont have to guess
Youre waiting up for me and praying that Ill be home safe and soon
