Nephilim
They have killed the seminal rain
Took away all the lightening
Now we only have happiness
Heal my sorrow you shills of gold
We huddle together in the planned cold
Hour of madness ending
Hour of awakening
Into the vaults where minds subside
Get your chacras opened
See the outlines of ancient shadows
They have solved nothing
Knowledge turns into prisons
Genetically modified life
We are the outsiders
Do you hear the drills of Neptune?
Tiny machines in the brain
Trance armies of the drone nation
Parley like the Nephilim, clones

If Teardrops Were Pennies
Wagon and dolly parton
An acre of diamonds Id offer to you
A solid gold mansion, an airplane or two
This whole world would be yours to have and to hold
If teardrops were pennies and heartaches were gold
Chorus
If teardrops were pennies and heartaches were gold
Id have all the riches my pockets would hold
Id be oh so wealthy with treasures untold
If teardrops were pennies and heartaches were gold.
The tears that have fallen wont buy you a thing
The heartaches you caused me wont pay for a ring
The love that I wanted would not have grown cold
If teardrops were pennies and heartaches were gold.
Repeat chorus
But teardrops arent pennies
And heartaches arent gold

Phenomena
Great-enough both accepts and subdues; the great frame takes
all creatures;
From the greatness of their element they all take beauty.
Gulls; and the dingy freightship lurching south in the eye of a
rain-wind;
The airplane dipping over the hill; hawks hovering
The white grass of the headland; cormorants roosting upon the
guano-
Whitened skerries; pelicans awind; sea-slime
Shining at night in the wave-stir like drowned men's lanterns;
smugglers signaling
A cargo to land; or the old Point Pinos lighthouse
Lawfully winking over dark water; the flight of the twilight
herons,
Lonely wings and a cry; or with motor-vibrations
That hum in the rock like a new storm-tone of the ocean's to
turn eyes westward
The navy's new-bought Zeppelin going by in the twilight,
Far out seaward; relative only to the evening star and the ocean
It slides into a cloud over Point Lobos.

The Platonic Lady
I could love thee till I die,
Would'st thou love me modestly,
And ne'er press, whilst I live,
For more than willingly I would give:
Which should sufficient be to prove
I'd understand the art of love.
I hate the thing is called enjoyment:
Besides it is a dull employment,
It cuts off all that's life and fire
From that which may be termed desire;
Just like the bee whose sting is gone
Converts the owner to a drone.
I love a youth will give me leave
His body in my arms to wreathe;
To press him gently, and to kiss;
To sigh, and look with eyes that wish
For what, if I could once obtain,
I would neglect with flat disdain.

Cherry Blossom Clinic
Discovered that the papers have been signed
To my bed I am confined
Owing to my state of mind
Special food for thought I must be fed
The authorities have said Im going off my head
Suddenly from flowered skies
Twenty thousand butterflies
Glorify my bed...
Turn from hot to very cool
Though it seems incredible
I could ride a bike around the moon.
Cherry blossom clinic
Is there any truth in what they say
Cherry blossom clinic
Lock me in and throw the key away
In this sad position where I lie
From the corner of my eye
Callous friends just pass me by
Doctor pays a visit
Everyday I keep asking for my dad

How I Wish I Was A Child
I took my children out one night,
They shouted out, what's that,
I said that thing that just flew by,
Well that is called a Bat.
A Bat they said's for baseball,
They think I'm telling lies,
They said it's used to hit a ball,
It's not a thing that flies.
I tried to say it's similar,
To an Aeroplane or a Bird,
They love to soar across the sky,
But they're saying that's absurd.
I then tried to explain myself,
To make them understand,
That I would never lie to them,
There was nothing underhand.

All Roads Lead To You
Headed north on a one-way trip
I never thought Id be back this way
I never thought Id be missing you
Enough to suffer for the whole night through
Headed south and I didnt look back
I rode the wind off a beaten track
Tried running from the thought of you
Haunted down by what I know is true
To the north
To the south
It dont matter
Every road leads to you
(Im coming home)
Chorus:
All roads lead to you
Wherever I go
Everytime I told you I was just passing through
What my heart didnt know, was all roads lead to you
Headed east on an amtrak train
I hit the city in the pouring rain

Watching The Sky
(v. peterson/s. hoffs)
Vicki
Watching the sky
And the moon we both lie under
Miles and miles between us
It makes me wonder
Are you watching the sky too
You fly in circles around the dark side of your soul
While Im flying in this airplane with no sense of control
Black sky wraps around us
Like skin it keeps us whole
And are you watching the sky too
Big hotel island in a small town
They send me flowers for my room
But tonight Ill drink their wind
Tonight Im gonna have a good time
Hanging on the telephone as if it were my friend
Craving some of that sweetness on the other end
Ill lay under the stars tonight
Instead of sleep, pretend

The First Steps of Outside
Making love in front of coquina fireplaces sometime
After school,
While all of the debutants were getting ready for
Their decathlon of enviable plays,
Jogging in place, and combing their hair:
The unmistakable angels in the iron clad air, kissing the
Follicles of their perfect skin,
The tryst of crepuscule make vulgar machinations
Around the four corners of their house,
Like liquor around an Indian reservations:
But they would soon all go out into this, a sorority fully on
The metamorphosis,
With or with out roller-skates, and making love,
But never so far as to make it across the canal,
Or to think so long of the commercial voyages of the wishing
Airplanes,
As to remember or think of me, as I laid like something
Amphibian against the banks of their parks which they would
Hardy think about anymore, which they would so
Easily be stolen away from,

Speed
Express train
Excess pain
Jet plane
Insane
When the heart gets taken away
Won and lost in a day
Never would concede
But I knew I'd bleed
A prince without his steed
For one brief hour was freed
Yet mugged and robbed at lightning speed.
The ink still wet
On the page where we met.
Before sunset -
My heart broken like your promise of love
When I was woken by the storm from above
All that I'd ever need
A hungry heart your lips could feed
But time is a thief with its greed
Rose of love was only a weed

Terrorist Riders In The Sky
A very dark rewrite of the classic song-Ghost Riders In The Sky
Well ole Bin Laden went camel ridin' one dark and windy day
Upon an evil throne he planned as he went along his way
When all at once it came to him
Out of the stormy black sky
The perfect plan to destory those nasty hated Americans
With a flame of maddness alight in his eyes he saw
burning in the stormy skies
Aeroplanes on fire with their steel wings melting
As aboard the passengers kept right on screaming
Their bodies burnt crisp and black and their decaying breath he could feel
A bolt of sheer joy shot through him as the pieces of his horrid vision fell from the sky
For he saw America falling to its collective knees hard and he heard those monster's cries of triumph

A Poem To Change The World
I wish I could write a poem that would change the world
A world with barbwire fences
Try to cross and you get stuck
You get pinned and you can’t come back
Ya
If I could just write a poem that would take those barbwire fences down
I wish I could write a poem that would change the world
With spotlights that blind rather than show the way
You have to look away
With spots in your eyes you cannot see
Ya
If I could just write a poem that would turn those spot lights away
I wish I could write a poem that would change the world
Airplanes that get you there if you can pay the fair
If you’re poor, you will work hard but go no where
Those who fly, are they thankful to the sky
Ya
If I could just write a poem that would make this world fair

Swan
Traffic jams, Concorde drones
TV's and radios drown me out
You won't change slamming doors
Temper, temper, that tongue of yours, drown me out
I've told you once when it comes to love
I'm like a swan, I only love once
I've told you once push comes to shove
I'm like a swan
I only love, only love, only love once
Dumbells crash, babies cry
A thousand voices, mostly lies, drown me out
The underground, Marble Arch
The deafening snap of breaking hearts, drown me out
I've told you once when it comes to love
I'm like a swan, I only love once
I've told you once push comes to shove
I'm like a swan
I only love, only love, only love once
Barking dogs, the lonely roam
The great unlaid making their way home, drown me out

The Camp Fires of the Past
A thousand, thousand camp fires every night,
in ages gone, would twinkle to the dark
from crest and valley in the rolling bush,
from mulga scrub and mallee scrub, from dunes
of Central sand, from gaps in straggling ranges,
from gibber plains and plains of iron-wood,
through leaves and in the open, from the mangroves
by shore of Carpenteria, from rocks
and beaches of the Bight.....for countless aeons,
a thousand, thousand camp fires burned each night,
and, by the fires, the Old Men told their tales
which held their listeners spellbound.... Every night
among the fires men chanted to the beat
of stick and boomerangs and clap of hands,
or drone-and-boom of didgeridoo, the songs
rising and falling, trailing, quickening,
while eyes gleamed bright, through smoke drift, bodies shone
and dusked in fitful glow amid the shadows.......

This Hard Land
Hey there mister can you tell me what happened to the seeds Ive sown
Can you give me a reason sir as to why theyve never grown
Theyve just blown around from town to town
Till theyre back out on these fields
Where they fall from my hand
Back into the dirt of this hard land
Now me and my sister from germantown
We did ride
We made our bed sir from the rock on the mountainside
We been blowin around from town to town
Lookin for a place to stand
Where the sun burst through the cloud
To fall like a circle
Like a circle of fire down on this hard land
Now even the rain it dont come round
It dont come round here no more
And the only sound at nights the wind
Slammin the back porch door
It just stirs you up like it wants to blow you down
Twistin and churnin up the sand

Born To Fight
Theyre tryin to take away my pride
By stripping me of everyhing I own
Theyre tryin to hurt me inside
And make me into a white mans drone
But this ones not for sale
And I was born to fight
I aint been knocked down yet
I was born to fight
Im the surest bet
There aint no man no woman
No beast alive that can beat me
cause Im born to fight
Theyre tryin to dig into my soul
And take away the spirit of my god
Theyre tryin to take control
And monitor my every thought
I wont let down my guard
And I was born to fight
I aint been knocked down yet
I was born to fight

The Slothful Metamorphosis of Aphoristic Midnight
Sand-lion, mountain lion,
Hermaphrodite- Some f%cker has stolen
My kite,
And the waves come up phosphorous all
Damp, enraptured honeybees-
Golf courses of crinkling foil
The never-ending beauties of uneven verisimilitude,
Jujubees and lightning bugs caught in the can
Of a young mongoloid and pitied up,
Made to sing dying fire:
Rope tricks slender knots around the woman going
Up into the sky
Who really isn’t there, suicide of smoke signals,
Her bangs, weathervanes and occult fingerpointing
Over the old bathrooms of high school and
College,
Worlds of young homes fitting in a peg board
In a game of restaurateurs- proving there really is
No easy solution for mutton headed ingeniousness,
The airplanes like flares leaping from point

ODE TO A SUPERHERO
Parody of "Piano Man" by Billy Joel
Poor Peter Parker was pitiful
Couldn't have been any shyer
Mary Jane still wouldn't notice him
Even if his hair was on fire
But then one day he went to that science lab
That mutated spider came down
Oh, and now Peter crawls over everyone's walls
And he's swingin' all over town
La li la, li de da
La la, li le la da dom
Sling us a web, you're the Spider-Man
Sling us a web tonight
'Cause we're all in the mood for a hero now
And there's evil-doers to fight
Now Harry the rich kid's a friend of his
Who horns in on Mary Jane
But to his great surprise it seems she prefers guys
Who can kiss upside-down in the rain
"With great power comes great responsibility"

So Glad To See You Here
Someones got a home tonight.
Someones got a road tonight.
Someones got a wad, action will be red,
You you wanna worry?
Oo, youre gonna knock em dead.
Someones got a show tonight.
Someones gotta go tonight.
Someones doing rhyme, someone turn your mind.
Someone to lift your eyes up
Leanin toward the light.
So glad to see you here, so glad you could come. (yeah!)
So glad to see you here. carry on. carry on.
Yeah, yeah!
Oh, were going up tonight.
Well in time to make a flight.
The airplanes standing on the runway
Engine nervously waiting for something to bite.
Got to roll tonight.
You got to roll tonight.
Some have got it bad, some have got to do it,

Oh terrible, beloved! A poet's loving
Oh terrible, beloved! A poet's loving
Is a restless god's passionate rage,
And chaos out into the world comes creeping,
As in the ancient fossil age.
His eyes weep him mist by the ton,
Enveloped in tears he is mammoth-like,
Out of fashion. He knows it must not be done.
Ages have passed-he does not know why.
He sees wedding parties all around,
Drunken unions celebrated unaware,
Common frogspawn found in every pond
Ritually adorned as precious caviare.
Like some Watteau pearl, how cleverly
A snuffbox embraces all life's matter,
And vengeance is wreaked on him, probably
Because, where they distort and flatter,
