Snow in (Progress!)

We loved the snow when we were young
With friends on sledges, snowball fights,
Making snowmen, Oh what fun!
Get to school and try to find
Who can make the longest slide?

And then at school the following day
Arms in slings would come our way.
Then they brought in Health & Safety
Making fun for kids less plenty
They close the schools because of fear
Now the kids will have to catch up throughout the year

The trains would travel come what may
Getting us to work for another day
But now we have the wrong snow on lines
For trains to travel they need the right kind
I do hope we don’t get another bout
As they are running out of salt they shout

The Three Quiet Gentlemen

There is a quiet gentleman a-motoring in France
(Oh, don’t you hear the honking of a British motor-car?)—
Like any quiet gentleman that you may meet by chance,
Who doesn’t wear a uniform, and doesn’t sport a star.
Another quiet gentleman is sitting by his side
(Oh, do you hear the “shuffling feet” tonight in Gay Paree?)—
The honking of their motor-car, when they go for a ride,
Is louder than the biggest gun that’s made in Germany.
Another quiet gentleman, who’s very like the first

Is riding out in Russia now to watch the best and worst.

Springtime feelins in the middle of december

Hot Rod Sleigh

I saw one of Santa's helpers at the grocery store today
He was standin' at the front door givin' candy canes away
And I told him I was worried about a certain situation
How's Santa gonna get here with this risin' population
He said, I talked to the north pole sometime late last week
And it seems that dear ol' Santa has got somethin' up his sleeve
As I leaned in to listen, he whispered in my hear
He said, don't you dare repeat a single word of this, you hear
He said, boss man's all excited 'cause his new sled's almost ready
And they say he's got it painted up, looks just like Richard Petty's
And Rudolph and the reindeer, they're lookin' long and mean
It's the fastest, highest flyin' winter wonderland machine
I ain't seen it for myself, but I heard say
Santa Claus has got a hot rod sleigh

I made a big mistake with him the first day I shot. We're shooting the scene where I come back from the party, the dance, in the sleigh with Julie Christie and we turn the corner and go past the camera and the camera follows us just a little bit and we disappear.

You know there's Dasher and Dancer
Prancer and Vixen
Comet and Cupid
Donner and Blitzen

The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
