Quotes about motorcycles, page 4
There's a pretty good chance that you're going to go down when you're on a motorcycle or if you're sky diving or whatever, but that happened before I even got this job, and I haven't sky dived since.

Wherever there are rock 'n' rollers, we'll play. That's what we've been doing for more than 30 years - rock 'n' roll. It's made me everything from an honorary mayor to honorary member of a motorcycle gang.

A Red Motorcycle With Least Meaning
it is raining.
this is the first rain for the month of June
in Katipunan
i sit facing a screen
i press words
i look through a glass window
much older than my being here,
out there
the mango tree is heavy with its fruits
under its shade is
a red motorcycle beside a hollow block fence
which separates a dilapidated house
from the public market
a woman holds a blue umbrella

Contrasting Sounds Of Sunday Morning
rain is pit pattering
on the roof
the wind is as gentle
as a whisper
of a new lover
when the rain stops
the footfalls pass by
the church bell rings
on a call to prayer
the sound of motorcycles
get louder towards the flea market
the cock crows and
jumps to the ground from a tree
here i am

A Dead End
When racing motorbikes
around the Isle of Man
one must be aware
of deadly hairpin corners...
one does not see
until it is too late
to avoid or escape
a life racing out of line.
Many a great rider
has died an early death
racing rained, washed out, corners
‘the (sudden) dead don’t see’...
when never
going fast enough
until they have to stop

A Walk in the Country
I walked by the river
Where it is usually so quiet and peaceful.
Crazy kids on motorbikes sounded
Like trapped bluebottles in a summer kitchen,
But the January light was still beautiful.
Jackdaws wheeled above with their sharp cries
And there were dead rabbits among the puddles,
Victims of weasels or foxes or who knows what.
Suddenly a jet-fighter ripped the sky open with a loud scream.
A gun went off, some enthusiast shooting
At the jackdaws or rabbits.
Then silence again.

Dark Water was one of my favourite films to shoot because of Walter. I had seen the previous films he had directed, Central Station and Motorcycle Diaries, and I thought they were great. I really trusted him.

If I want to work, I can. If I want to play golf, or ride my motorcycle, I can. But the rest of it is family. Sometimes you're not really needed by your family, but you're there. And my kids like to know I'm there.

In this winter
In this winter
it is as if it’s spring
when I get on my motorbike
and in a flash
drive down the road to Pretoria
and even if the cold folds around me
there is a sun
coming out of your arms
and your perfume
has a noble fragrance
like a garden
full of jasmine.

When I was 21, I got into a motorcycle accident while traveling in Europe and I had to lie around a lot in the aftermath, which was really the first time in my life that I became really focused and inspired to write.

Uneasy Curiosity
One particular night
I was drifting like an aimless breeze
And walked into a 24 hour grocery store;
I saw a raven-haired woman
In a long black dress
Purchasing cigarettes and mints.
I failed to speak to her
But was strangely obsessed
By her existence.
Breathing with uneasy curiosity,
I followed her down the summer midnight street
To a dark residence of illicit mystery;
I saw her exchange a secret sign
With a motorcycle hood
With a dragon tattoo
Branded upon his throat.
I also attempted to enter
This foreboding lair

Cul de sac
At the parking
of the Ok-bazaar / Shoprite in Springs
a one-way street runs out
straight into a traffic light
that cuts a T
into two directions.
This morning the traffic light
is blocked
by a crowd of rioters
that comes from the right side,
from where I want to go.
The police block the road
to the left with a car
and some policemen walk along
with the uprising.
There’s a foreman, instigator
or head man

Outlaw Man
I came out of the fifties
now that's when men were men
I am like the red red rooster,
always couping hens
I guess that I'm a rarity
some call a dying breed
I am a macho bronco stallion
call me Mr Seed
I'm a rocker
I'm a rocker
I'm a rolling stone
I'm a rocker
I'm a rocker
I'm one big bone
I'm a rocker
I'm a rocker
Motorcycle man
love don't fit in a can
When you're talking Elvis,
well I saw him yesterday

Out There, A Mishap
out there is a crowd of people
motorcars stop and the blinking of the ambulance
look like the eyes of a frightened child,
two motorbikes collide at top speed
two bodies lie bloody on the road
pictures are taken
no one touches the placement of the broken glass
the stains of blood on the leather seat
another mishap
another realization that death comes
when you least expect it
i lock the door of the car that i am driving
i swear i do not want to have any involvement in this
i take speed and dissolve in the dark distance.

Reality...one
in a field of grass
underneath the morning clouds
a man with a black hat
white polo and marine blue pants
rides on a red motorbike
followed by a brown dog
and a black horse
one upon the other they tread
upon the road that you are talking
blue birds fly the skies
above the poplars

And, actually it was interesting because I had done a lot of traveling in the United States and Canada and Mexico on my motorcycle; and I was really, it was the first time I had really gotten out of the Minnesota area to speak of.

The sidecar ride
The tyres kiss the tarmac
Pushing us forward
Past the trees and bushes
Past the men and women
Steal into a life
A man cleans his roof
Children go to Sunday prayers
All watching as we rush by
Be amazed as I go by
Something new, different
A motorbike but more
It's little baby setlles beside it

Can You Roll Her
* fast as light our jets were burnin
On the road a distant siren song
Hands upon my engines growin
Vincents[+++] deep throat breathin out so strong
I can hold her, can you roll her
Ride her like theres no tomorrow
Sirens song sure is growin stronger
Shadow reached a high note
And in the distance [electric lights]++++ no longer
I can hold her, can you roll her
I can hold her, can you roll her
I can hold her, can you roll her
* repeat
*
I can hold her, can you roll her
I can hold her, can you roll her
I can hold her, can you roll her
I can hold her, can you roll her

My Motorcycle
i bought one in 1998.
i left it to the care of my
brother-in-law and it was
well taken-cared of. Shiny.
Then he broke his leg
because of the black dog
that crossed the street
early dawn when the
streets are still dark.
then my other sisters
and brothers claim that
they have rights over the
wheel, and the cover and
the steer. I keep my mouth
shut. And they were talking
about the prostitute,
how cheap she was, and
still roams the street at

Like Job
Like Job I talked
with the Lord
and couldn’t comprehend,
where my life was going
and from where
all my misery comes?
Then I saw an old man
with a metal cup
in his hand
walking past my motorbike
and his clothes was in tatters
and hope was in his eyes
Then I realized
how much better my life is
and that God
still sees every thing.
