handwashing

Quotes about handwashing, page 4

Top Taps

At the Royal Festival Hall, on the third floor,
There is an experience which I just adore.
Every time that I visit there, I always choose
To wash my hands under the taps in their loos.

Out of the tap, the water suddenly gushes;
On to my waiting hands, hot water rushes.
Into the basin, water froths and foams:
I really wish we had these taps at home.

Round my wrists, the white water swirls
Like a precious bracelet, made of pearl.
Bubbles coat my hands, just like a glove:
It is a sensation which I simply love.

By the bubbles, my hands are massaged.
Luckily, for these loos, there isn't a charge.
With these taps, I am a little obsessed.
These are the taps which I love the best!

Photo From Lost Days At Stillborn Falls

You see them all morning while driving,
broken cars, omens, those towns you drive
through graveyards now. Your one good
tooth a headache, windshield wipers break in
the storm. Road side glass cuts your feet.
You curse your shoes in the back seat,
fumble with blades in the rain.

One good town out of six and that's the one
you leave behind where your shorts hang content
at home on the line, back yard neighbors
speculating over lingerie with black lace.
The sun can barely contain itself.
The mail man wishes he was me.

The story is Jalise - I was nearby - she dripped in
soaked from rain announcing, 'I need to get
out of these wet clothes and into a dry martini.'
For me? only a towel to dry her and nothing more.

Dont You Think?

Some people
Dont worry
bout nothing
Dont know whats going on
Im not one
Who cant say theyre sorry
I just care whats going on
Theres more important things
Than making sure your watch looks just right
And second hand opinions
Dont make you look any smarter
Dont you think
Dont you think
Dont you think that maybe
Its time , yes its time
Time you started thinking
Time you started thinking
And dont just sweeten up the taste
Brother shoots brother
But meanwhile youre fixing up your face

The Freshmen

When I was young and knew everything
And she a punk who rarely ever took advice
Now Im guilt stricken,
Sobbing with my head on the floor
Stop a babys breath and a shoe full of rice
I cant be held responsible
Cause she was touching her face
I wont be held responsible
She fell in love in the first place
For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and
Wed never comprimise
For the life of me cannot believe
Wed ever die for these sins
We were merely freshman
My best friend took a weeks
Vacation to forget her
His girl took a weeks worth of
Valium and slept
Now hes guilt stricken sobbing with his

Eighth Air Force

If, in an odd angle of the hutment,
A puppy laps the water from a can
Of flowers, and the drunk sergeant shaving
Whistles O Paradiso!--shall I say that man
Is not as men have said: a wolf to man?

The other murderers troop in yawning;
Three of them play Pitch, one sleeps, and one
Lies counting missions, lies there sweating
Till even his heart beats: One; One; One.
O murderers! . . . Still, this is how it's done:

This is a war . . . But since these play, before they die,
Like puppies with their puppy; since, a man,
I did as these have done, but did not die--
I will content the people as I can
And give up these to them: Behold the man!

I have suffered, in a dream, because of him,
Many things; for this last saviour, man,

Scream

Scream!
Fell forth, destroy the source
Can't see and my voice is hoarse
Trying to wash your hands off
You should know better than to leave us in disgust
Let me take you right to the point
All you ever do is encage in disjoint
That does it the time has arrived
Take it or leave it you better not side!
You did it again
All you ever did was doubt
What do you want?
Let me tell you what it's all about
One life
Nine hearts
And eighteen hands that'll rip you all apart
We're here to decimate
To show you all we will never fall
It's gonna get serious
And critical

Neglecting Oneself

I stop by the mirror
to wash my hands
on a public comfort room
I have no intention of looking at myself
like a map
trying to find the path for a
treasure hunt
there is none i think
that makes day
a story for a pot of gold or what
but by chance i am caught by the face of the mirror
looking at me
copying me
mimicking me
as though i am not myself in there anymore
I dread
and so i washed my hands too quickly
and did not bother
drying them
with that paper or cloth hanging on the side

Sink Monster

I am a hole in a sink
I don't care what people think
Flushed with success and full of pride
I swallow everything inside
Hair, nail cuttings, toothpaste, spit and dirt too
It may sound awful to some of you
But then again I thank the person above it's not worst
I could be something you sit on when you're about to burst
I'm not a loo and therefore cannot complain
You see everything you give me goes down the drain
I know I'm going to get a lovely feast
When I see you wash your hands, face or feet
So next time before you do just look into the hole and you might just see
Something strange - what can that be?
A pair of red staring eyes, a dark furry face
Whose teeth love chomping at your waste.

Daddy Can I Turn This?

There is a button and there's a switch
There is a needle and there's a dial
There is a lever I want to lift
And still you treat me like I'm a child
Daddy can I turn this?
Daddy can I turn this?
Will it be very dangerous?
Or will it taste nice?
You wash your hands with perfume and spice
I'll tell you when I want your advice
Daddy can I turn this?
Daddy can I turn this?
Is anybody acting your age?
You got a girl you keep in a cage
You give her present after a while
A birthday cake containing a file
Daddy can I turn this?
Daddy can I turn this?
The flashing lights go running 'round and 'round
It spits out money

Superstar pt1 (Super Nova)

No life on earth is perfect some will make it some will fail
There’s a dark side and twisted side to every single fairy tale

When you step into the public you’re a convict in a noose
One wrong move and you’re hung like the juries in lawsuits

And I gotta wash my hands where ever I may go
Cause the slime thrown my way always seems to come in droves

It’s better and worse than I thought but is it worth to last?
The show must go on till my final (autograph)

Life and The Giver

the giver has given to us the life
the art of life
is the science
within the mind
to live
acting as rationally thought
with realness,
pureness,
humility,
tolerance,
dignity,
self-thought/awareness,
self concept
and being in life

(to which at some variance and instance, all shall and must cease to effect at once) : not to just exist, for we all live to die!

'one one cocoa fill basket' - one thing at a time.
'one hand wash the other' - each of us needs the other to live as peeple in oneness.

Silver

There are clouds that hang
silver-grey in the air,
before the winter sun
gives its first rays
of a drawling day.

Silver-grey the Monday starts
and while the day’s hours
pass much to slowly,
I am summoned to the old chief
with his silver-grey hair.

One of the women clerks
who wants to be boss,
wants to push a silver knife
into a colleges back.

I leave them alone to count their silver pounds
and wash my hands in the bathroom,
with a silver ray of water that squirts out of the tap.

So Loftily Silent

Why buy newspapers when you refuse to discuss
anything appearing in it, totally unconcerned that
the farmers are tortured on their farms, killed for
their money and livestock - as long as YOU are
safe in a cushy job while the rest of the country
burns and dies and goes down the drain, you
simply will not say anything

FINE, swallow your bloomin' newspapers, delight
in your existence without sympathy wasted on farmer
martyrs - their function of food provision does not
concern anybody, especially the government, who
cares what happens to anybody as long as they
are safe far away from children suffocated in
boiling water, people burned with hot irons

Why should you care, you can import food from
overseas or anywhere, who needs farmers here
in South Africa, you cannot be bothered even to
express sympathy with their fate, may you wash

Rudyard Kipling

The Glory of the Garden

Our England is a garden that is full of stately views,
Of borders, beds and shrubberies and lawns and avenues,
With statues on the terraces and peacocks strutting by;
But the Glory of the Garden lies in more than meets the eye.

For where the thick laurels grow, along the thin red wall,
You will find the tool- and potting-sheds which are the heart of all;
The cold-frames and the hot-houses, the dungpits and the tanks,
The rollers, carts and drain-pipes, with the barrows and the planks.

And there you'll see the gardners, the men and 'prentice boys
Told off to do as they are bid and to it without noise;
For, except when seeds are planted and we shout to scare the birds,
The Glory of the Garden it abideth not in words.

And some can pot begonias and some can bud a rose,
And some are hardly fit to trust with anything that grows;
But they can roll and trim the lawns and sift the sand and loam,
For the Glory of the Garden occupieth all who come.

The Silver Birch

O SILVER one, O silver one,
Above the valley of the Bane:
O stem with snow-water agleam,
And glistening limbs, and trails of pearl.

The sun has sent a slanting kiss:
Red fire and gold, his arrows burn:
Now that he aims a shaft at thee,
Red fire and gold to silver turn!

When I am spent with the ways of men.
I'll wash my hands in melting snow:
And live with thee among the oaks,
And watch the river swirl below.

But I must ever be travelling
From sea to sea, from shoal to shoal:
Farewell ! O still and beautiful,
I would thy valley were my goal!

Love triangle

How do you face him?
When you are facing me
you see two, forgetting theres three
you look at him but you look at me.
you have access to the door handle
believing you are inside the right angle
I make up the numbers in this triangle
and you know I can not open the doors
so you come to my side
when he doesnt come to yours
you have put him in a place he doesnt know hes in
in a love triangle its a game the cheater doesnt win
blow out your unlit candle
because theres three sides to a love triangle
oh before you go. wash your hands with the finest soap
because he cant see me and i cant see him
but you can see us both
you cant love two people. you cant.
If anyone says you can... ill still say you cant.
I dont want to touch you making sure know one sees

Not in this universe

I did dream for more time
Wish and want for proper time
A first date....wine and dine
The cinema your hand in mine
A first time lips meet
An evening stroll along any street
A first mornings kissed
Nay this universe missed
That moment in the past was lost
Then permitting only time at cost
At an inconvenient date
Drawn together all too late
Precious sand falls by gravity's ask
Hear the ticking futility as deceptive hours pass
Time wistfully wasted
Longings end  is sorrowfully tasted
no will to wash my hands of kin
A life time made and saved here in
Pitiful heart beats on
Invested hearts continue strong
