Here Come The People In Grey

I got a letter this morning with serious news thats gone and ruined my day,
The borough surveyors used compulsory purchase to acquire my domaine,
Theyre gonna pull up the floors, theyre gonna knock down the walls,
Theyre gonna dig up the drains.
Here come the people in grey theyre gonna take me away to lord knows where,
But Im so unprepared I got no time to pack and I got nothing to wear,
Here come the people in grey,
To take me away.
Me and my babys gonna get on a train thats gonna take us away,
Im gonna live in a tent, were gonna pay no more rent were gonna pay no more rates,
Were gonna live in a field, were gonna buy me gun, to keep the policemen away.
Im gonna pass me a brand new resolution,
Im gonna fight me a one man revolution, someway,
Gonna beat those people in grey,
But here come the people in grey,
To take me away.
The people in grey have gone and taken away my right to voice my complaint,
Her majestys government have sent me a form I must complete it today.
But its making me blue, dont wanna tell all my secrets to
The people in grey.

Long Grey Mare

Written by peter green.
Ive got a long grey mare, she wont let me ride
I got a long grey mare, she wont let me ride
She makes me brush her in the morning
And put her to bed every night
Long grey mare, why cant we be just like before
Long grey mare, why cant we be just like before
We used to ride so hard
Until we just couldnt ride no more
Break:
Look at me grey mare, dont I feed you everyday
Look at me grey mare, dont I feed you everyday
But when I dig you with my spurs
You turn around the other way

The Blue And Gray

The Blue and the Gray collided one day
In the future great town of Missouri,
And if all that we hear is the truth, 'twould appear
That they tackled each other with fury.

While the weather waxed hot they hove and they sot,
Like the scow in the famous old story,
And what made the fight an enjoyable sight
Was the fact that they fought con amore.

They as participants fought in such wise as was taught,
As beseemed the old days of the dragons,
When you led to the dance and defended with lance
The damsel you pledged in your flagons.

In their dialect way the knights of the Gray
Gave a flout at the buckeye bandana,
And the buckeye came back with a gosh-awful whack,
And that's what's the matter with Hannah.

An Irony of World!

Blue East longs for grey

Grey West longs for blue

It's irony of one world!

My humanity

In the day there’s light
and at night it’s dark
and yet life
is not all that simple.

Most probably I am somewhere
between the dark and the light
and in the greyness
of either dusk or dawn
and still have to decide
what my words and deeds
of either night or day will be.

Into A Happy Song

When in the morn
I cast my eyes
On garage roofs so forlorn
So dismal in the skies so grey
For the sun does not shine today.
But, wait a moment, have I seen
The sun begin to move the clouds
And raise my spirits once again
To see those scenes in a different light.
The greys have gone,
And colours come
To raise my voice
Into a happy song

Rain

In Seattle one could count on it!
Barometric pressure falling daily...
With the probalbility of rain-
Oft' times morphing into a steady drizzle
And grayer than gray skies;
In those days, depressive illness ran rife...
Much of it was linked to the bleak weather-
That chilly precipitation that keeps Washington evergreen;
That same miserable rain fell
The day my father died;
Some ask me today, if, i miss Seattle
And, of course, i reply: 'yes'
But, i do not miss that infernal rainfall
That always chilled me to the bone...
That literally dumped from the heavens
On May 7-
Leaving me drenched and oh so alone;

Eyes Of Green And Gray

Eyes of green and gray
i wish you'd look my way
smile for me today
O eyes of green and gray

Eyes of black and white
of sorrow and delight
i behold every sight
through eyes of black and white

Eyes as hard as stone
so cold and all alone
lost without a home
with eyes as hard as stone

Eyes of green and gray
it's here i want to stay
and never look away
from eyes of green and gray

Sunset

THE river sleeps beneath the sky,
And clasps the shadows to its breast;
The crescent moon shines dim on high;
And in the lately radiant west
The gold is fading into gray.
Now stills the lark his festive lay,
And mourns with me the dying day.
While in the south the first faint star
Lifts to the night its silver face,
And twinkles to the moon afar
Across the heaven's graying space,
Low murmurs reach me from the town,
As Day puts on her sombre crown,
And shakes her mantle darkly down.

Going Grey

I woke up late this morning
And looked into the mirror
But the woman looking back at me
Had a grey streak in her hair

Where did this grey streak come from?
It wasn’t there last night
How did it get into my hair?
My god I looked a sight

I washed and I washed my hair 3 times
And washed my hair some more
But the grey it would not come out
And I was getting stressed for sure

I grabbed the phone to ring my friend
And said get your arse round here
I have a big problem that you need to fix
And bring all your hairdressing gear

In A Eweleaze Near Weatherbury

THE years have gathered grayly
Since I danced upon this leaze
With one who kindled gayly
Love's fitful ecstasies!
But despite the term as teacher,
I remain what I was then
In each essential feature
Of the fantasies of men.

Yet I note the little chisel
Of ever-napping Time,
Defacing ghast and grizzel
The blazon of my prime.
When at night he thinks me sleeping,
I feel him boring sly
Within my bones, and heaping
Quaintest pains for by-and-by.

Still, I'd go the world with Beauty,
I would laugh with her and sing,

The mirror told me

The mirror told me
What matter of man
Makes me wet
And I drip
And I drip
Do not fall
In love with
Unfamiliar mirrors
For they lie
Even about
The steel grayness
Of your eyes
Some thinks
That the mirror
Will not lie
But this it self
Is the lie told
Despite what
Our eyes tell
Everything is flat

Hiding The Gray Side Of Life

because you want something
definite
then i must hide

what grays areas are there
nothing shady

something goes on
on this concealed portions of

the hair and this morning
i am ready

to let you know
that the world is only divided into two parts

black and white.

The greyer the storm light folds

What temperance cruel smile brakes
From the bars of the raging sea;
Where wave on salt corrosive wave
Once purged loves sweetest melody.

But age and faith are truer friends
Than youth in all her guise;
That's why lover's can allure, amends
From all their cold deceits
Because the greyer the storm light folds
The deeper and brighter love burns
In her autumn coals...

Rainbow

I live at one of those Grey Clouds
Not really know that I am lifeless

I heard people talking about rainbow,
They’d met each other, always in a happy occasion
I wish I met the rainbow myself
Then perhaps I would know,
What the people say is not true
That there is no thing such rainbow,
That could make people’s eyes glittering
In Blue color of the sky
In Green color of the valley
In Red color of the blood
In Yellow color of the sun

I am belongs to the Grey Clouds
I Love Grey, as it is all the color I have in life

Then one day, at the ticking time of my ordinary Grey-day
I see something really bright,

V

I lift my heavy heart up solemnly,
As once Electra her sepulchral urn,
And, looking in thine eyes, I overturn
The ashes at thy feet. Behold and see
What a great heap of grief lay hid in me,
And how the red wild sparkles dimly burn
Through the ashen grayness. If thy foot in scorn
Could tread them out to darkness utterly,
It might be well perhaps. But if instead
Thou wait beside me for the wind to blow
The gray dust up, . . . those laurels on thine head,
O my Beloved, will not shield thee so,
That none of all the fires shall scorch and shred
The hair beneath. Stand farther off then ! go.

Shades of Gray

Until now two extremes have shaped the days
From opposite ends of the scale of grays.
One without hue and not really white,
Because it couldn’t reflect all incident light.
The other lacked hue since rays that would fall
Were absorbed with no light reflecting at all.

Henceforth, a hopeful force steers a course of moderation.
Opposite ends of the spectrum will no longer stifle a nation.
Thoughtful, careful shades of gray soon will prevail
As crises require scalpel rather than hammer and nail.
Up to now opposite ends have been easiest to support;
Sadly, they have created an extreme world about to abort.

Intelligence and wisdom will finally have a strategic say,
Addressing issues here and abroad through shades of gray.
Problems are staggering and will need cooperation
Of electorate and politicians to avoid a depressed nation.
A miracle has happened to show that all are shades of gray,
As major changes are effected in this quest for a new day!
