duel

Quotes about duel, page 4

Smile the scented wind

let me be the wind that wash the tiding sea and sudden
the illusion of this day and capture your heart in the endless
beauty of your destiny

thou, the living blue ocean always bring, happiness and
as the trumpeter echo of my call, nothing has come to live in
your bountiful scented smile in the wind, my dear soul rest

oh! my admirable dear desire, my passion shadowed in your
wisdom of love, enduring the holocaust of pain as you walks
amidst my trembling heart, I restore to live beyond today

let me ask a little pardon, the humble beginning of my love,
that leads me to kiss my ignorance of being, that hold me to
push the reason, why forgiveness comes first to your mercy

I come thou, in the brightness of today, blinded that you
Will just a dew to believe the point to accept that all lewd
I to know the zeal that begin the idyllic time with me

Nullam, Vare

Varus, when you plow the red loam of Tibur valley
there where the slopes of Catillis touch your walls
plant nothing before the dark vine stock
whose juice makes everything easy:
stewed, who cares if death alone ends toil?
pissed, who cares if life at the front sucks?
Those who refuse your refections, O Baccus, might
well skip the gifts of lovely Venus. By all means, drink-
but lightly-never lean too hard on lispy Liber.
Remember those noted spoilers, centaur and Lapith*
whose drunken duels made even Baccus blush?
may I never so abuse you, gentle Basso
or tell tipsy tales whispered in my ears,
tattle or
roll gossip's drum, or
chatter like one who
doesn't know that it shows him
for a fool, pleased to distort facts and spew
vile rumors behind another's back.

A Nature's Gift

She's magnetic without knowing
Nature's in love with her
that it bestowed on her beauties.
Can I be nature's rival?
Who am I?
What have I to offer?
Though nothing, I cherish her like life.
In duel with nature
I won in mercy.
Nature asked, 'Ask for anything'.
I demanded for her; the magnetic beauty.
I chose not life nor riches
but her, for whom I risked.
She remains my treasured gift.
Thanks to Mr. Nature.

Migrants and the Breeze

Upon the shore by Goree Island,
The Green Cape's western coast
Senghor's spirit of poetry
Perfumes the evening smoke

The night vibrates to duelling drums
Youthful fingers point to the north
To trace a path for emigrants
By bearings that the slaveboats took

The breeze is a playful character
Dancing a funana with the trees
Teasing, arousing the rushing waves
That grasp for home on the narrow shore

Great masks guard the coastline from invaders
Insisting on history that Africa owns
The Wolof spirit exceeds the present
Beachwalkers hold the future close.

Into The Dark

Long view into the dark
Moving your finger
You gonna make it for sure into the dark
Master of duel, rendezvoyeur
This is a walk into the dark
Playing the ball
Roll it on but not too fast
There she goes into the light
Close to your eye
Breaking the mirror
Gone out of sight
Flash in the rain
Sign of a walk into the dark..

Sherrie

While the masses, like auburn-eyed cattle
were engrossed in their meaningless prattle.
An opponent stood tall
with much spunk, all in all
and her spark then ignited the battle.

It was soon about matching our wits.
There were insults and other mean bits.
But when peace came at dawn
she would no longer yawn
but describe her formidable tits.

I am sorry to mention that word.
Just pretend you had really not heard
he who says that our chests
are the equal to breasts
is a very much ignorant nerd.

So I thank my opponent of old
who resides just like me in the fold.

Rebuff

Rebuff!
Reach, peach, leach, teach, beach;
And like the oracle of the one whose eyes are very sharp!
But how beautiful is your love?

Mule, fuel, cruel, duel, trend;
Alas! ! There i met your love;
But you uttered the oracle and i fell into the hole,
And the darkness of it was full of red.

Seven times of love and three times with your muse,
Alas! ! There i met your love;
But you were consumed like a burning fire.

The E Street Shuffle

Sparks fly on e street when the boy prophets walk it handsome and hot,
All the little girls souls grow weak when the manchild gives them a double shot,
The schoolboy pops pull out all the stops on a friday night,
The teenage tramps in skin-tight pants do the e street dance and everythings alright,
Little kids down there either dancin or hooked up in a scuffle,
Dressed in snake-skin suits packed with detroit muscle
Theyre doin the e street shuffle.
Now those e street brats in twilight duel flashlight phantoms in full star stream,
Down fire trails on silver nights with blonde girls pledged sweet sixteen,
The newsboys say the heats been bad since power thirteen gave a trooper all he had in a summer scuffle,
And powers girl, little angel, been on the corner keepin those crazy boys out of trouble,
Little angel steps the shuffle like she aint got no brains,
Shes deaf in combat down on lovers lane
She drives all them local boys insane.
Little angel says, oh, everybody form a line. oh, everybody form a line.
Sparks fly on e street when the boy-prophets walk it handsome and hot,
All them little girls souls grow weak when the manchild gives them a double shot,
Little angel hangs out at easy joes. its a club where all the riot squad goes when theyre cashin in for a cheap hustle,
But them boys are still on the corner loose and doin that lazy e street shuffle,
As them sweet summer nights turn into summer dreams little angel picks up power and he slips on his jeans as they move on out down to the scene

D & G

between David
and Goliath
between the slingshot
the stone
and the eyes

let me be
just a page of a book
telling the story
about
the distance between
defeat and triumph

let me just be the air
between the stone
and the slingshot

i have too much
already of this
indulgence

Chess Like That? (Mumbai 2008)

Just another round of the chess game
Rooks and bishops fall dead on the board

Apolitical horses have gone lame
As the dead count to a hundred soared

Black and white squares are now bloody red
Grieve for the pawns who've been blown up dead

Regroup, restart, this political game
Plot a quick 'rechauffe' of the same

And then fix a duel of nuclear kings-
For aren't your motives, just a chess thing?

Punchestown

Twas the music took me there,
not the horses, funny that;
Bets and tunes in harmony interweaving,
busking like mad
the duelling whistlers
turned some heads
on ladies day.

Unlike Raifteirí we could
see our conceited audience
we played to the full
but tight pockets,
a crew that would make
Carolan himself cringe
or drive Dáibhí Ó Bruadair
into a rant
of satirical lampoon.

Hats, shades, zany dresses
and fake tan,

War And Peace.

What is peace if there is
No war, something to fight
Wordy or towards murder,
We cannot but exist
Without war, tired we find
The peace, sometines
A momemnt. sometimes
A long time, till our tiredness
Wears off, then again
It is fight all right,
Like life is made to fight
To finish till the last breath,
While we fight away
To gain some goods, fame,
Our life is never complete
Without great many
Number of wars, battles
Or at least a wordy duel daily.......

Some Fear No Hell

The serious run deep into their minds
Some never come out

Have you seen the hunt of the Spartans?
Have you witnessed the demise of Nietzsche?
Audiences brave with gold
Time running like a disease

So tired of holding on to the duel nature
We struggle on giving our time away
Accomplishing nothing
Prosecuted by our conscience
Some have lost it
Some no longer love
Some no longer care
Let it burn
Let it slide
Some dance like freedom
Some fear no hell

Evariste Galois

A duel, only mist will intervene,
Two men, a line of numbers span between,
The field in which they stand, a complex plane,
Which maths equations set this tragic scene?

Not twenty-one, a headstrong youth in vain,
Would rather give his life than bear a stain,
A thwarted love and challenge made in haste,
A brilliant, yet impulse blighted brain.

Diverse mishaps of fortune interlaced;
Political conspiracy is traced,
Rejections academic, mental blot,
A father who could never be replaced.

Equations may be solvable or not,
Republicans may fall in twisted plot
Solutions may be simple or obscure,
A genius may die by pistol shot.

Let this pilgrim's sin, inaugurate

Unnerve! Mine-eye
That I might, see!
That hand that stirs...
Upon an unequivocal sky and sea;
Lead me through that lowly pastoral gate.
Let this nomad's world abate.
His pagan heart that still incurs
A nonetheless same fate;
He who's nightfall is far from dark
He that a brims the stars black golden art
In his ordnance of grace
Show thy non illusory, immaculate,
Stonemasonairy, despotic, face!
Unleash thy duel forked lightning.
Scythe mine nomads world, abate:
Let this pilgrim's sin, inaugurate.

Where One Is

It was another night
In places where many people shared common abodes
Only in the darkness of the night

Upon us now, is daylight
In places where many more people, share spaces
No one can escape the passing hours, of daylight

Be it round, or flat, the earth
Is shared by millions, in places and in spaces
Because it was designed that way, this beautiful earth

It is perhaps of great significance, the place where on is
So focus on which is needed in that space
To help improve conditions for all, wherever on is
SIGNS OF AUTUMN Signs of Autumn create beautiful scenes
That can be seen by human being
The air emits its aromatic blends
Of delicate fragrance that the environment lends
And that which other nature's blends send

The Chosen People

where i live
race issue is
bantered about
like a pop song

it is their eyes
in their acts
even more clear
when situation warrants
it in words

they sound
like two sharpened
swords clinking
in a duel

the sound is
so ominuous
one is left with
sleepless nights

My Dark Nights

At the distant verge of the horizon
Slowly submerging is the weary Sun
With reddened face
Bidding grudging adieus
To his day long drudging
Brooding over mandatory next come

I stood there staring at Him
I wanted to say “don’t depart”
In an automatic reflex
I lifted my right hand aloft!
Nay! He didn’t stop! I wept!

As feared reemerging are my
Horror-ogres, with creepy insurgence
A dirge from distant mountain range
Barged inside my fragile core
With harrowing clangour

Oozing out acid-reminiscenses
