Find Me A Butterfly...
Find Me A Butterfly,
On A Sweet, Summer Day
Find Me A Butterfly
So, I Can Play
Floating Here And There
Caressing Every Breeze
Flitting Near, Then Far Beyond
To Brightly Tease
Hovering For Awhile
Curiously O’er Crowds
Sitting On Our Windowsills
Then Dancing Up To Clouds
Find Me A Butterfly
In The Dead Of Winter
So, It Can Breach My Cocoon
In Metamorphosis Glimmer

You Wanted To Know....
the starving child you saw on your tv screen,
the one that made you turn the channel.
the old homeless man who tried to bum a dollar
when you were pumping gas...
whose hands were shaking,
who smelled like trash,
who you made fun of when you left...
the one you gave 50 cents to,
just to get away from...
the young painted up girl you called a whore,
the guy strung out on pills
buying groceries with food stamps...
the veteran who came home
to find his family gone....
no job, no home, he blew his brains out!
the gay boy who slit his wrists,
tired of being bullied.
the old couple evicted broke and sick....
the bodies of women and children killed by the drones,
the young man in prison who just got gang raped.

High
i feel high today
because mother came in a dream
with an airplane
evidently by her dress
and expert actuation she is also the
pilot
she says with authority that this is
a chartered flight
and i will be the only passenger
bound to a place where she presently lives,
i do not mind at first what she
is saying
because my first reaction has been
to hug her tightly
like the way loneliness
hugs a newly-found
lover.
i look at her face carefully
she is not as bright as the appearance

Sonnet: On Self-Confidence in Life
Never compare yourself with anyone;
You are a unique being upon earth;
Most things can be achieved under the sun;
Your self-confidence level is the dearth!
No success comes with fear of failure live;
It takes some time to climb and reach a peak;
Sometimes, you must be like a drone in hive;
Transforming magic in you lies, you seek!
Don’t be the problem in your life’s problems;
If faith is strong, achievement will soon smile;
’Tis upto us to choose life’s diadems;
Show off your full potential awhile!
Self-confidence is what we must boost up;
With mind made up, drink from life’s any cup!

Bluebirds and Love
A pair of sweet bluebirds with their gentle way
Describes our couple who married today.
Like bluebirds they'll nest and soar in life's sky
With views of the world from heights oh so high.
The male is strong, but at times will depend
On his beautiful mate and constant friend.
While she networks her way if problems approach,
He'll always be there to listen or coach.
When the season is right as the breezes go still,
Then there'll be young who strain for their fill.
These small ones with their fervent drone
Too soon depart to fly on their own.
As with bluebirds our lovers forever will sing.
Their song..... I love you. You're my everything!

Air Was Naked
After the putsch, through night he set himself alight
ensnared in flames of societal conflicts, for a
vision of tomorrow, in the birth of a bloody dawn.
The drone of history had failed on a loaded salt.
A solitary murder of truth was sufficient to unsettle
me for a downturn of unborn wounds of drowned
voice, of a requiem. The dead were coming back to life
in dark alleys of black skulls. The pink scarves
were still holding the snow flakes of standing
wheat for the thirsty children, of grieving mothers
who lost the homes to red hands, the white paper,
the hungry guns. The thieves were coming again.
I was never naked in my blood, my howling bones.

Honey, Just Allow Me One More Chance
Honey, just allow me one more chance
To get along with you.
Honey, just allow me one more chance,
Ahll do anything with you.
Well, Im a-walkin down the road
With my head in my hand,
Im lookin for a woman
Needs a worried man.
Just-a one kind favor I ask you,
low me just-a one more chance.
Honey, just allow me one more chance
To ride your aeroplane.
Honey, just allow me one more chance
To ride your passenger train.
Well, Ive been lookin all over
For a gal like you,
I cant find nobody
So youll have to do.
Just-a one kind favor I ask you,
low me just-a one more chance.

I seek my little Hometown
*['Sleep, little darlings, I watch while you slumber.Oh sun! Divine sun! Ripening the pumpkins everyone.']-'P'ere Goriot', Honor'e de Balzac
I peeped into the vast World map
and found my pearl like tiny island Sri Lanka
in the Indian Ocean!
And I marked my Hometown
'Katubedda', actually we had a house of our own there
Poor Mom built that from our loving Father's
Working compensation, who died
under an Aircraft hanger at the age of 32.
There's a famous University in Katubedda
and luckily I got an opportunity to jump there
for a brief course 'Radar Observation & Plotting'
It's a part of my seafarer career.
Now I observe my poor companions there
and plot their whereabouts in my inquisitive mind?
Their day to day greetings, smiles and cries
I see and hear on my heart screen
Black & White!

Aliens Have Come
Where is the place that I can disappear?
Who will take this nagging angst?
I am a mask, a sexual identity
I am a position in a lost world
She decorates her face like a mannequin
Gives herself away not of lust but doubt
Disconnected, schizoid, souls without life
Hollow empty winds blow over the land
Pleasure only lasts a short while
Run for the shadows of anti depressants
Kiss the dark night of starless mirrors
Orgasms without love, without heart
Chains rattle in Kafka's castle
Strangers in beds of Roman feasts
Vows amidst luxuriant shared despair
Dreams filled with gray Viagra drones

Lets Dance To The Tune Of Lust
The world says hush
It's not the time to rush
Forget the things which are must
Let's dance to the tune of lust
The common man may feel disgusted
Their manhood has got rusted
So ladies tighten your bust
Forget the things which are must
Let's dance to the tune of lust
Fill environment with moans and groans
Flush out every booming drone
Entice the world with bust, booty and curves
Burst every man's crust
Forget the things which are must
Lets dance to the tune of lust
Blast the society,
Blast the blasphemous rules

She Hears The Storm
There was a time in former years-
While my roof-tree was his-
When I should have been distressed by fears
At such a night as this!
I should have murmured anxiously,
'The prickling rain strikes cold;
His road is bare of hedge or tree,
And he is getting old.'
But now the fitful chimney-roar,
The drone of Thorncombe trees,
The Froom in flood upon the moor,
The mud of Mellstock Leaze,
The candle slanting sooty-wick'd,
The thuds upon the thatch,
The eaves drops on the window flicked,
The clanking garden-hatch,

A Breather
i know
no one reads this
attentively like
a boarding pass
of the plane
to know clearly
what gate
what seat
this is just a
memorandum of
a past experience
not really mine
but perhaps
of some other
passenger of this
life's aircraft
towards another
journey

The Fairy Bridal-Hymn
[This is the hymn to Eleanor, daughter of Mab and a golden drone, sung by the Locust choir when the fairy child marries her God, the yellow rose]
This is a song to the white-armed one
Cold in the breast as the frost-wrapped Spring,
Whose feet are slow on the hills of life,
Whose round mouth rules by whispering.
This is a song to the white-armed one
Whose breast shall burn as a Summer field,
Whose wings shall rise to the doors of gold,
Whose poppy lips to the God shall yield.
This is a song to the white-armed one
When the closing rose shall bind her fast,
And a song of the song their blood shall sing,
When the Rose-God drinks her soul at last.

The Anger Of Old Men...
who am i then?
is there nothing left?
the splintered leg
of the coffee table,
the doorknob broken,
the place on the edge of the yard
where the dog likes to piss?
do old men's bodies
crumble into the shadows
of all the things they've died for?
how many plates filled?
how many cups poured?
how many fires tended
against the night?
how many hands held?
how many dreams buried
beneath the tree that stands?
how many conversations
with pictures on the walls?

Mike On The Mic
I met this girl last night with a peculiar cackle
I laid the bait and then she took the tackle
Had too much to drink at the Red Lobster
Now the room is spinning around like the blades of a helicopter
I never met a girl that was too finicky
If the press has their way then they're going to finish me
You might know this but you've never been this see
If I ate spinach then I'd be called Spinach D
I shed light like cats shed fur
Ride around town like Raymond Burr
I'm so high that they call me Your Highness
If you don't know me then pardon my shyness
I live in the Village wherever I go I walk to
Keepin' my friends around so I have someone to talk to
I play my music loud because you know it's got clout to it
It's a trip it's got a funky beat and I can bug out to it

Boulder To Birmingham
(danoff / harris)
I dont wanna hear your love song
I got on this aeroplane just to fly
And I know theres life below me
But all that you can show me
Is the prairie and the sky
And I dont wanna hear a sad story
Full of heartbreak and desire
The last time I felt like this
I was in the wilderness
And the canyon was on fire
And I stood on the mountain
In the night and I watched it burn
I watched it burn, I watched it burn
I would rock my soul
In the bosom of abraham
I would hold my life
In his saving grace
I would walk all the way
From boulder to birmingham

Little Guns
Tiny people, with little guns
Little armies march, to little drums
What do they want?
What do they want?
Tiny soldiers, with little guns
Little tanks, no bigger than your thumb
They want you
Little people, with tiny brains
Little bullets flowing, in their veins
What do they want?
What do they want?
Tiny people with little guns
Little armies march, to little drums
They want you, you
You, you, you, you
Little airplanes, with tiny bombs
Little squadrons, dropping thimbles of napalm
They want you
What do they want?
What do they want?

My Excuses
I started on my homewor
but my pen ran out of ink.
My hamster ate my homework.
My computer's on the blink.
I accidentally dropped itin the soup my mom was cooking.
My brother flushed it down the toiletwhen I wasn't looking.
My mother ran my homeworkthrough the washer and the dryer.
An airplane crashed into our house.
My homework caught on fire.
Tornadoes blew my notes away.
Volcanoes struck our town.
My homework was taken
by an evil killer clown.
Some aliens abducted me.
I had a shark attack.
A pirate swiped my homework
and refused to give it back.
It took so long to make these upI realized, with dread,
it would have just been easier
to do the work instead.

The Temptation
We have many faces
but we are all the same:
the drudges of existence,
the drones in life's great game.
My best days are behind me,
my race is nearly run.
I get up for work each morning,
its been years since its been fun.
I am wedded to a woman
whose passion has grown cold.
I have worry lines around my eyes
to remind me I am old
* * * * *
I met this girl on Thursday,
The memory makes me hard:
Perhaps she was the Devil's snare,
Perhaps a gift from God.
Her perfume was alluring
Her hair brunette and long.
Her posture was inviting,
