Flyer
(piano)
When you wish upon a star
Makes no difference who you are
Flyer fly me away
Higher til I cant see
Glider keeper of my dreams
Of whatever once was me
I was thinking of you
I was thinking all I was just thinking
Fly me away
Flyyyyyyyyyyyyyyer
You could make it last a long time
Well for all time
And for always
You could make it last forever
Was just thinking
Oh I was just thinking I was I was
Oh
Flyer dancing on the skylite
By play of my youth

Shadow Wars
While the tide of warfare seems to recede,
And while we contract our security,
Media reports once again misread
The flotsam of drifting impurity.
The perils of being unpopular
Drown out the worry, flush out the dissent.
Murkiness shades what appears regular
And silently begins to circumvent.
Drone strikes and electronic surveillance
Wallow in the depths of wading coverture.
We sink in obscured hypervigilance,
Halting waves of ‘terrorism' through torture.
There is no diplomacy yet pursued.
In the shadows, all are being subdued.

I travel fifty years back when I hear your melancholy song
'Though he's black very handsome and a strong character,
Really a loving father.'
Mom always says when she's alive.
Oh! Dear Father, you left us almost fifty years ago,
Under an Aircraft Hangar you met a tragic accident.
Yes! Mom is right and you struggled to die for three days
And how sad when you closed eyes forever?
You wanted to make your three sons famous Soccer players,
But the youngest already left and lives in your proximity,
The eldest idles on Motherland and I am here like a football.
They kick me here & there but not into the goal
And I wait till the referee whistles saying that the game is over.
*Who keeps a dollar under my sheet?
I dedicate this poem to Luther.Vandross for his magical song* 'To dance with my father again'.

Desecration of Idols of the Past Leaders
The idols of the past national leaders
are dumped into the sacks of their castes.
The boys fed with the dirt of castes
go in vans as pilgrims to worship the statues
with oodles of choppers, daggers and rods.
The cops stand in day and night to protect
the people of one caste from the the other.
At times they face the onslaughts of the mob
which takes law unto their hands
even to kill the guardians of law and order
and fill the land with fear and angst.
If they go on pilgrimage with kin and children
to offer their prayers to their idols,
not only on their days of birth and death
but also on all the days of the year
with goats and cocks to slit, cook and eat,
these idols will become gods in future
and all the castes will worship with piety.

The Second Wedding
No long white beaded dress and veil
No bridesmaids
No lovely old craggy church and vicar
No guests.
No embarrassing speeches and jokes
No best man
No sumptious reception and cake
No disco.
No worries about long lost relations
No hassle
No last minute catering snags
No problems.
Just a beautiful hot sunny day
and helicopter
Just a pilot, witnesses and
Las Vegas.

Fighting The Odds
It was a wet fall day.
Leaves falling off the trees as if they were helicopters landing on the ground.
I was on my way to me final soccer game of the season.
I was not sure if I would be playing or not because my temperature was 100 degrees.
My head felt like a 100 pound weight pushing me to the ground.
But I had to play because I had started every game in goal and I was just not able to let my team down on the undefeated season and the division title.
I was dizzy and felt like I was just been pushed around on a spinner at the local park. It was a feeling that I will never forget, it has been 5 years and I still remember this feeling.
The referee blew the whistle to show that the game was over after the 70 minutes of harsh play.
My team was as happy as winning a lottery!
After the game we took a team photo by the goal with everyone one holding up one finger to show that we are number one.
Everyone was as excited as can be because our team was not expected to do this well this season.
In the ending I had to have brain surgery because I had a rare sickness called encephalitis.
But it was worth playing in the rain playing a game I will never forget.

The Royal Air Force Hero and the Luftwaffe General
Britain fought for her life.
Hitler’s armies prepared
For an invasion of England.
Savage air battles took place
Over the skies of Albion.
Then a miracle happened:
In the summer and autumn of 1940
The Royal Air Force defeated
The numerically superior Luftwaffe.
This was a turning point in the war.
Lacking adequate air support,
The Fuehrer could not carry out
His invasion plans.
Deeply touched by the heroism
Of the pilots, Winston Churchill said:
“Never in the field of human conflict
Was so much owed by so many

VideoDrones
The drones, they keep on staring
at the television blaring
all the hate and lies
passing threw their eyes.
Propoganda in their brains
Violent acts in their viens
Muscles throbbing, hearts pounding
as the trumpets of war are sounding
The children, they cry
as the bombers pass by
dropping death at their feet
to that armmogedon beat
that drums on threw their lives
as they take to the skies
to deliver their rage
to other children their age.
At the moon, the dogs howl
as the world leaders scowl

I am happy to be alive
The African sun is white hot
in the bright blue sky
and the fresh wind
jerks on thorn branches
and blows the red dust up,
where dead enemy soldiers
lie on the battlefield
At places there are burned out tanks
and armoured cars
but so many people are reaped
that shock waves even hit Havana
where women and children
keep on crying.
Thorn bushes make fat round shades
and those of the higher trees
are stretched out longer,
while one of the officers
draws lines in a little black book

Son Of Detroit
I like to play Hank Williams Jr records
Just as loud as they will rock
I'm into Lynrd Skynrd, Run DMC
And DJ Scott la'rock
I like Willie, Waylon, George and Merle and alot of ZZ Top
I like country, soul, rock-n-roll
And I love me some hip hop
I'm a redneck rock-n-roll son of Detroit
I don't like no new wave
Techno bands around
I'm a drink a couple dozen beers
Go out and jam some gears
I'm a long haired rock-n-roll
Son of Detroit
I got bourget and west coast chopper
That sure makes them bitches stare
Got a dead flamingo wrapped around this cowboy hat I wear
I like 2 cuss, yell, scream. fight
And raise all kinds of hell
And if you ride to live like I live to ride

Angelus
A deep bell that links the downs
To the drowsy air;
Every loop of sound that swoons,
Finds a circle fair,
Whereon it doth rest and fade;
Every stroke that dins is laid
Like a node,
Spinning out the quivering, fine,
Vibrant tendrils of a vine:
(Bim - bim - bim.)
How they wreathe and run,
Silvern as a filmy light,
Filtered from the sun:
The god of sound is out of sight,
And the bell is like a cloud,
Humming to the outer rim,
Low and loud:
(Bim - bim - bim.)
Throwing down the tempered lull,
Fragile, beautiful:

P.O.W. (Prisoners Of War)
Locked up in a cell
The prisoners of war light the fuse to the dynamite
The door is blasted off the hinges
The prisoners of war escape through the opening where the door was
Enemy soldiers, one by one, are notified
And one by one
They try to take down the prisoners of war
War isn't pretty
War is hell
The enemy soldiers break out the guns and knives
Ready to take the prisoners of war down
But the prisoners of war do a wonderful job of fighting and staying alive
More enemy soldiers are dispatched
Some climb down or dropp off ladders
Some flip and somersault
Some continue walking and running on the ground

Love The Time
Love the time
Love the time
Love the time
You have for you
Love the time you spend outside
Because this nice weather won't last very long
Fall is on its way soon
Love the time
To listen for the song of the birds
This might be the last time
Love the time
You have to reflect on your life
Love the time
You are worshiping God
Love the time that you are discovering your feelings
Love the time that you are learning about yourself
Love the time
Your soul waits in silence for God only
He is your rock and your salvation
Love the time

Like Jewels Being Put To Sleep
Standing out in the beautiful Pygmalion
Wearing our purple
Baseball caps- and the atmosphere as blue
As an egg shell over
Where she does: across the student parking
Lot, the kaleidoscope of a truant’s
Memory dances,
And the children skip on home, laughing
With tongues cerulean:
And I swear amongst them: that I have seen
An airplane, like an angel,
But I am left with only so many words to
Describe her- and very soon even those few
Things will evaporate
And the yard will quiet like jewels being put
To sleep- but I have no memory of
What she does after that.

Sorrow and JD
I was looking to drown my sorrows
in a large bottle of JD.
After six fingers things looked better
as they became sunk in me.
Twelve fingers and my mind became blurry,
the JD was getting increasingly less.
I was losing all sense of reason
and becoming a mixed up mess.
The liquid was decidedly more ish,
as fingers became more like hands.
Bad memories faded into oblivion
as the JD took over command.
I lost my grip on everything
as my elbow slipped off the bar.
My glass passed through my fingers
and bounced as it hit the floor.

Finch & Frog
The finch trills in the apple tree
His: Tiriliree!
A frog climbs slowly up to him,
Up to the treetop's leafy rim
And puffs right up and croaks: "Hallooo,
Ol' chum: see, I c'n do it too!"
And as the bird his song of spring
So sweetly to the world doth sing,
The frog chimes in with sassy tones
And interjects his bassy drones.
The finch exclaims: "O Joy, hurray!
I'll fly away!"
And springs into the azure sky.
"Hah!" cries the frog, "Well so kin I!"
He makes a most ungainly bound
And splats onto the bare hard ground.

The Wet Lyre
Acoustics naturally set, the breeze drones on.
The wind gatheres the clouds upon
To check the thunder's pitch in tune.
The performance to be applauded high in tone.
Wind hissing to winnowing to blowing
The concert starts storming andthundering
With lightening effects the open auditorium darkening
To get drenched in heavenly drizzling.
The wind flags on and on and
The hydraulic drops get stringed
To pour into thick strands from up.
The wet lyre is fully tuned up
To sing and dance, God as the conductor,
Synchronising with wind, thunder
And ablazed lightning, stamina in full swing.
Though wet with variable pitch ongoing
Bliss the rainy lyre is so poetical
The finale makes the audience silent a while
But cheers is 'Come again another day'.

Pull The Trigger
Call up the guns
Beat on the drums
Join the hell
Grey magazines
Evil machines
Zero two ten
Eighty-eight millimetre mortal rounds
AK 47's make a hell of a sound
Rolling thunder's gonna get the better of you
If you wanna get ahead and win the hearts and minds
You gotta pull - pull - pull - pull the trigger
Fire your guns
You gotta pull - pull - pull - pull the trigger
Fire your guns
Pick up the phone
Start up the drones
Radio base
Head outta town
On enemy ground
Nothing to tell

Kabul Weather Forecast
Weather Forecast in Kabul.
Rain in Kabul, the weather woman on TV said.
and I wondered if that was a good or bad thing.
Slippery roads and confused drones, what do
I know? Perhaps the rain is just what the poppy
fields need right now. Weather forecast on T. V
is pure entertainment, all respectable channels
have a person with a map who looks confident
when trying to predict the tomorrow. Danish
bomber pilots listen to weather forecast too,
will there be sun over Libya? Kaddafi hasn’t any
more planes left, we are now bombing his tanks.
No-fly –zone? I didn’t know tanks could fly. Rain
in Chad, that’s sad, they like Kaddafi he has been
helpful to this poor country. Never mind all that
he’s a despot and so says all of us.
