Quotes about galaxy, page 3

Life

You breathe, and my lungs
rise and fall like winter trees
swaying, sure of spring,

like water-drops, cells
twisting, galaxies pulsing
with abundant life.

When you look at the stars and the galaxy, you feel that you are not just from any particular piece of land, but from the solar system.

What's My Reason For Picking Up A Pen (Italian Sonnet)

What's My Reason For Picking Up A Pen (Italian Sonnet)

What's my reason for picking up a pen
If all has been written throughout all time
There are only so many words that rhyme
Repeating the same themes over again
Much has been written of the life of men
Many of them ring out with the same chime
For they speak of mountains and mankind's climb
And the struggles to overcome our sin
The universe is a marvelous place
Filled with galaxies and more galaxies
There's many wonders in what we call space
I wonder if man will possess their keys
Will aliens accept the human race
Or will they see us as chaff in the breeze

John Travolta

I have to believe there's some other life force out there. I don't know in what form. But we can't have all these galaxies and universes without something going on.

Finale

The great star Eta Carinae reclines,
spine scarce inclined from the galactic plane.
Polar axis ominously aligns
along a Milky Way star-studded vein.
If predictions hold, the star will implode
and explode with rare hypernova force.
A black hole will dwell where the core once glowed.
Poles, a double-barrelled gamma-ray source.
Good luck to any civilization
which lies in their atmosphere-strafing path.
May they escape the first conflagration
and far-reaching pumped X-ray aftermath.
Our galaxy hums with fun, thrills and strife,
the arbitrary adventures of Life!

Eyes
Turn to
Argo's keel,
Carina's stars.

They've discovered that, where all the other galaxies are moving in one direction, ours is going in another. Now, the Big Bang theory says that we're all moving outward.

Unscripted Verses

The worlds of the universe unite and gather,
To view the spanking of the fools.
The socially unfit,
Are about to get a spiritual lift.
One that promises to have millions witness.
And millions more options to choose.
When those who are limited in consciousness...
Witness Galactic visitors begin to heal us,
With unscripted verses and revelations re-interpreted.

Men In Black

Hohh
Here come the men in black
Its the mibs uh here come the mibs
Here come the men in black men in black
They wont let you remember
Nah nah nah
The good guys dress in black remember that
Just in case we ever face to face and make contact
The title held by me mib
Means what you think you saw you did not see
So dont blink be what was there is now gone
The black suits with the black ray bans on
Walk in shadow move in silence
Guard against extra terrestrial violence
But yo we aint on no government list
We straight dont exist no names and no fingerprints
Saw somethin strange watch your back
Cause you never quite now where the mibs is at
Uh eh
Here come the men in black men in black

The Surface of the Sun (A Memory)

We were flailing in a pit of despair
Burnt alive, fighting for air
Doomed from the start, I swear
Losing consciousness, we fell into a cosmic haze

Looking back at the star miles away
How we had survived I could not say
A cosmic suicide squeeze play
We lost ourselves, floating star to star

Stuck in a void
Galactic abyss
Floating so long without purpose
‘Til I saw the princess

A Direct Plant

My dear queen as I sit here…
Reminiscing my love for you…
I've come to realize my love…
Like the speed of light…

Something moving fast in the universe…
As your love moves forth with in my heart…
To the black hole which bounds it…
Forever more…

You are for always within me…
Touching, moving keeping me alive…
No wonder…my love for you is so rare…

And that, I shall declare! …

Now and for…ever more…my wings…
Carry our love through galaxies and
Galaxies of untouched hearts…

Virtual Immortality

Virtual Immortality
Already mine
To the end of Internet Time
My name will be on line-

But when the Sun implodes
or certainly when Galaxies refine
Bacteria and dust
No longer will be Mind.

Relinquish

I delegate the Galaxy to you--
For happenstance has ignored me-
The Cosmos have shed no light this day...
And Infinity 'tis impossible to see;

Secure in your heated arms of no regret...
I give over my chain of command...
Weary-so weary and so very tired-
And in dire need of a helping hand;

You've never let me down in the past-
And the Moon has taken his leave-
The Sun and the Stars are all visiting Mars--
And today its just so hard to believe;

And so i delegate the Galaxy to you--
I know that you will take great care-
Between Earth and sky-its just you and i-
Mingling at last-in sweet serenitys air;

The Black Hole

First and foremost humans will disappear
(the blind ones being the last to leave),
then the other dumb creatures and everyday things
will be taken to pieces
and the emptiness will swallow
all this farrago together, explicitly
The black hole of the approaching galaxy.

We will meet again beyond the vortex
(and the blind ones being the last to appear),
where things will recover their symmetry,
and every man or creature
will be restored, like in a puzzle game,
but they will have no substance anymore
and be left forever with no funeration.

I Can See

I can see far galaxies,
count in each
the nebulae;

My finger swirls sunset colors
and paste them in my scrap-book portfolio,
bend these around Time itself,
high polish them to diamond glow;
sprinkle on dust from butter-fly wings,
warm this with angel breath
and fly
to the highest sky;
where I pluck the leafy blade
and make of it my feather brush;
and re-paint Van Gogh's landscapes.

I mix in Velvet Innocence
starry nights,
honey-colored moon-light;
kaleidoscopic butter skies,

A Great Wonder

It is no wonder
the grand Universe
does not go asunder
which is so diverse
as a spider-web grand
made up of Galaxies billions
with many a connecting strand
of Stars trillions and trillions.

It is no wonder
when our complete Solar system
in its motion performs no blunder
with its Planets, and Sub-system
being a part of Milky Way
along with asteroids and comets.
All the components with precision play
from their appointed posits.

It is no wonder
the Earth revolving around the Sun.

Expectations

Our fabulous flying wheel galaxy
plows head-first through intergalactic space.
Seven thousand mile per minute taxi
bound for the Virgo Cluster's misty trace.

Our Sun bounces on gravity's tether,
speck in a collective starry flower.
Astrophysicists predict fair weather
ahead, half a million miles per hour.

A quarter of a billion year trip
carries Earth once around the Milky Way.
We plummet through the thick and thin of it;
gas pockets, dust clouds, Spiral arms' melee.

Our present course is relatively clear
and beyond the Oort Cloud's icy comets
the solar wind of our heliosphere
expands to shield the inner planets.

I look up at the stars

(after Samuel Ha-Nagid)

I look up at the stars
and they sparkle like drops of hail,
but where they are shining, with awesome power
there existence had to be planned to the finest detail.

They burn as if their power will never be spent,
are scattered in galaxy upon galaxy
and are numerous, almost without end,
as beacons to the glory and power of God.

Yet He calls them by name,
constructs their disposition, the way
that they are set
like a omnipotent magician

or maybe He gathers and leads them
as His shining flock,
while He shepherds even every stray one
