I played from the time I was seven years old. My father was my first baseman coach. I had opportunities that I never really pursued - with some Miami teams and a few larger colleges, and then I ended up bailing and began cooking.

I think when you saw this year's playoffs, Miami and Detroit have a pretty fierce rivalry now. Also, the Suns and San Antonio look like they're starting to develop something there. I look forward to seeing those rivalries continue and develop.

Looking to snooze on AA922 to Miami today
Little monsters scream all the way for fun
Seat kicking for exercise and expression

Cuisine in the sky is now Armagnac-free coffee
Gilles conflicted by gourmetless veal burger

Flight Delays (Life Poem)

Sympathyless disbelief when I complain again,
Delays are the balance for the glamour of flying.
Nine hours in Sao Paulo while the ATC strike,
Eight hours in Vienna while new wheel flies in,
Seven sins would be justified by this purgatory,
Six times six hours from CBB to DUB last week,
Five hours sweating in Port au Prince plastic chair,
Four hours for rain in Miami seems not so bad,
Three hours in Shannon for bomb threat search,
Two hours sitting in Seattle with mad dash in Kennedy.
One would be happier walking, swimming or driving.

Another viewing's slowness: it looks as if the dead
Are on television,
And she is waking up, dressing in fireworks that will
Persimmon off her body in a two for one sale—
From the heavenly depths of
Miami—
She will look up into a sea of airplanes—and spin outside of
The tent,
And next to the trucks and the supermarkets and
The fast food chains:
And all of that traffic—long fuse rapping around her
