Mistakes and Changes
Dreading day after day
Slowly trudging through
People pass by a blur
Of faces and clothes
Sitting in the back
Listening to the drones
Of supposed authority
Doing what your told
Feeling inadequate
Feeling bored
Feeling alone and separate
So different from what was the norm
Only a few days ago
Looking so forward
To the end of the week
When things will change
When I can go home

Touring is tough. You're almost in a haze because you don't really know where you are half the time: You're in a hotel room one moment, and the next thing you know, you're onstage performing for 60,000 people, then you're back on an airplane. It's very hectic and I couldn't do it without my family.

In the Mountains of Madness
In the Mountains of Madness
There is one, and only one, large outdoor cafeteria.
It lies between frozen lava lakes and soft sandy peaks.
From the patio
One may glimpse the desert far below,
And the distant sea.
The desert is wrought with black outlines of giant monkeys, runways and cosmonauts.
It never rains there,
So the patterns remain distinct,
As they were for viewing from the aeroplanes of the Second Century.
If one sits at the cafe in the Mountains of Madness,
Sipping espresso after espresso,
The wild fury of H.P. Lovecraft invades the mind,
As it begins to snow.
The snow gathers in the small cups,
Being only the dandruff of the fallen gods.

Pity, We Were A Good Invention
They amputated
Your thighs from my waist.
For me they are always
Surgeons. All of them.
They dismantled us
One from another. For me they are engineers.
Pity, We were a good and loving
Invention: an airplane made of man and woman,
Wings and all:
We soared a bit from the earth,
We flew a bit.

Arrival
With a tingle that rushes in my blood
you run up to me with a great smile
when I arrive from the aeroplane
and again I am astonished by your beauty
when a crowd of people move around us
and we embrace and are lost in each other.
Moments stretch out almost eternally
when we disrupt the movement of other passengers,
when pairs of eyes stare deeply into each others
as if we see each other for the first time,
when time keeps lingers as if it does not exist
and we embrace and are lost in each other.

I don't Like You
I, my, fly, die, shy, sigh, guy, bye
gone, flown, cone, drone, blown, away
hay, hey, neigh
Cry, my, guy, yigh, goodbye
wait, hate, gate, crate, weight
even some debate
Watch out! or you'll trip over escape
While I poke you with debate
And escalate mole hills
Into mountain ranges
'equate'

Rip Van Ruben
Rip van ruben
Youve been asleep for a hundred seconds
Now the whole world has changed
Theres no home on the range
For rip van ruben
Youve been asleep for a hundred minutes
Now youve woke and shes gone
All alone in a dark new dawn
Sits rip van ruben
Dont let it get you down
Hop on a tram and go up town
Watch a silent film
See the biplanes fly bye bye
Everything new and upside down
Pinching yourself through your dressing gown
Wont bring her back
But your bruise is real and black
Jump into bed and dream her back where she was
Dream youre frank l. richards and this is the great land of oz
When your alarm clock goes off

On A Birthday Cake For Dying Rabbits
Storm clouds laughing over bowling alleys where
No one spends any real time in-
And the jaundice east blowing out the sick
Candles on a birthday cake for
Dying rabbits:
And this is my toy sent spinning out onto
The concrete field,
Covered with so much graffiti, like tattoos
Around your neck,
And the airplanes coming across you
Carelessly every night, but never having the mind
To look down and see.

Taking The Risks
I never heard the question,
Why am I to blame?
I cannot yield and answer
That would end the game,
The repeating, repeating
Drone, take my name! take my name!
The bail is set at marriage
Or independence
I must pay with my freedom
Or be penniless,
The prisoner of either
For a single chance

Smoke Up
Stone was in me when I was rougher
Now my power has suffered in this hour
Of my oversleep alone with the beast and my skull choppers
Now Im just a name dropper
And Im bust in these deep slumberweeds
Stone was in me
Its so damn late
Its so damn dark
Pull up those drapes
Hey, lets see just where we are here it comes
I finally woke up
Thats right
cause Ive got to make something work out
I sent some smoke up
Thats right
cause Ive got to make something work out
Thats right
Ive got to make something work out
Thats right
Ive got to make something work out

The Majestic Tree
They bow to the winds that pass
The beautiful majestic trees, Â
With arms up toward the skies
They laugh in the summer breeze.Â
They provide shade and shelter for the bee, Â
He plants history, who plants a tree.
They provide lumber for houses, and barns
For a roof to cover our heads, Â
Lumber for aeroplanes, ships and cars
And for caskets, to bury our dead.Â
This is only a few uses you see
He plants history, who plants a tree.
They provide rest for the weary man
Food and protection, for many wild things, Â
Home and sanctuary, for millions of birds
And rock their babies to sleep in swings.Â
Their magestic grace so wild and free
He plants history, who plants a tree.

As i lay asleep......
Soft cushion
Flavoured incense
I lay asleep
Night
Day
All the same
I lay asleep
Hurted deep
Women weep
I lay asleep
I lay asleep
Amidst the noise
Mortal body
Left with no choice
Drones of people
Flock around

I will love you forever
I will love you forever
Whether you love me or not
If my life is an airplane
Will you be my co-pilot?
Baby I feel so cool and
You look totally red hot!
You can make me happy and
Keep me warm like a teapot!
Baby I need you so much
You keep coming in my thought!
If I don’t see you one day
Baby I miss you a lot!

Yesterday NPR fired me for telling the truth. The truth is that I worry when I am getting on an airplane and see people dressed in garb that identifies them first and foremost as Muslims. This is not a bigoted statement. It is a statement of my feelings, my fears after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 by radical Muslims.

So Much To Do
The face of the world is a homely face,
And the look of the world unkind,
When harsh on your arm a hand it lays
And bids you into the grind,
That 's little to your mind, my dear,
That 's little to your mind.
But it 's work that counts in the world, you see;
Not what we dream, but do:
For the dreamer of dreams, whatever he be,
If he 'd have his dreams come true,
Must be a workman, too, my dear,
Must be a workman, too.
So much to do; so much to know;
So much that life would shirk!
But each is one of a hive below,
The world's great Hive of Irk,
Where each must do his work, my dear,
Each one must do his work.

Above a enemy camp
A mirage fighter jet flies past
like a angel going in advance
on the crusade.
There’s an enemy camp
going up in flames
and clouds of smoke
hanging ominous
over the place
while our aeroplane
flies to the right height.
With the sun
showing its head
over the horizon,
I fall like a bat
breaking through the airspace
and right around me
the sky is full

To Be Awakened
Write in a cradle of luxury:
And wait for the traffic to pass by like
Beautiful lures
And housewives in their mouths:
Now I do not know which way I am going—
The concrete is so singular—
Airplanes touch-down maybe fifty feet
Away from me—
It is the year of the dragon, and she is my wife
As the angels fly into her,
Burning themselves—wishing to be freed,
As her hair darkens
Until it is finally time to be awakened.

Vermin's Hive
A drone in my ears
Stinging, nibbling creeping
A spectroscopic existence
Do not press,
I will sink.
But if I jump
Let me sink.
Intrusive creepers
Extemporizing pain
Imbecilic brains
Why are you breathing my air?
Why am I amongst the vermin?
I feel squalid
Devoured by pity
Abort existence
Cringe. Fade away.

My Brightly Singapore
The deafening roars
Promising faces chanting ‘Singapore, Singapore, Singapore'
Was the acute scene
At the National Stadium where matches to be seen
Is to crown the soccer kingpin
Of South East Asia sovereign
Singapore has done it two times in a row
And three times ever since
A great success for a small nation though
Driving through Pan Island Expressway
Passing by the awesome Marina Bay
Where the bright sun shines on the skyway
Where the airliners flying pass all the way
Right to the world renowned Changi Airport
Crossing above world’s busiest seaport
From the sea
You could see
The brightly surprising skylines
