Quotes about ozone, page 2

April Rain

The long awaited needed rain
finally came in gentle drops.
Thirsty daffodils greedily
quaffed the tepid precipitate
while their odoriferous scents
reluctantly merged with ozone
creating a pungent bouquet
that stimulated the nostrils.
Far afield from the daffodils
robins comb the newly wet grass
for ever emerging earthworms
that are coaxed above by the rain.
Soon the tugs of war begin
between the two adversaries.

Coupling

In the tiny truths behind the hidden
words and blood streaked cheeks, you
drink ozone in deep layers. I will count
all my sins and light the candles in a row.

On the pillow of moon, night slept in half-slumber.
I tendered an apology
and wrote a new poem. It was not a rebuke
of stars.

This was my ad lib before the sun rise
and roses opening the blood conversations
with the grand stings. The wrapped hunger
starts wailing.

Mockery of Ozone Depletion

Constituting committee
Fulfilling their duty
Seating in conference
Making statement, drawing inference
Giving deliberation
On ozone depletion
Experts do feel agony
On the harmful effects
OF ultraviolet rays
Global warming
Rising level of sea
But see the irony
All such conferences
And meetings
Held in air-conditioned hall
Main cause of CFC emission
Embedded in the wall
Giving sarcastic expression
Cooling inside
Warming and harming outside

A Thunderstorm

The rainclouds loom over the town
Like a cold, grayish wet blanket
That soon will unleash and rain down
its wrathful torrent in buckets.
I’ve seen this many times before-
This quietude before the storm-
A preface to what is in store:
An incredible thunderstorm.
Behold! The tempest has begun.
Wind is blowing from the northeast
Lightning bolts on the horizon
The odor of ozone increased
And as though it were timed, thunder
Brought rain as I watched in wonder.

Global Warning

GLOBAL WARNING
The earth rose out of chaos,
the earth was alone,
God provided man to earth
both of them started living harmoniously
man loved nature
nature provided man everything
man won the world through science
reached on moon
forgot the earth
engulfed in new materialistic pleasures
forgot ozone layer
done the nuclear explosion
increased pollution
filled the earth with dust and smoke
forgot nature
global warming is increasing
the survival of man is decreasing

Raging Kindness

Suckers of an octopus arm
entwine
like ziplocks
around a bleeding artifact,
for signature erase
on shared bed.

Few oily drops
simmer down
from the wheels,
the raging grief of the centuries.

Arrival had been delayed
of charred remains
of toxic news.
Repair of the ozone layer was garlanded
as a birthday gift.

I did not want the variety of answers.
Snakes and lizards have entered

That Moment...when the Button was Pressed Parody Ted HUGHES – Crow

When the button was pressed and the mushroom cloud
finally drifted away
like an ozone layer stripped from the stratosphere

And the only face left in the world
lay melted
between waxed hands sticky with weight,

and the genes were mated forever
and the greens mutated forever
and the shadow-doll lolled upon the gravel
of the abandoned world

Alongside the abandoned gavel
and the bell that tinkled never
God returned to Her drawing-board
to discover the decimal point of error.

South American Ghost Ride

Illuminating is what we are
When we will be on the stars

I will feel great
Without my weight
that I would feel
while on the ground

Who would have thought
that we could overcome
such a thing as
protruding the ozone layer
To find new species
on the stars

I will feel great
Without my weight
pulling me down
Would I still feel myself
when I hit the ground

An Acid Rain

This is it, I want to say.
An acid rain falling each evening
and you, reading a poem
surrounded by flame – attendants.

Nothing moves farther than activism.
Conversation centers around the flares
on the surface of an orange sun,
a big hole coming up in the ozone layer.

You are an ocean, needs penetration
of inquiry. Running a relay race in
a big cage to keep the torch
burning. Clouds in the sky

objecting to full moon, coming up,
nonchalantly. Landscape rips – off
the ideas from the thorn
in the heart.

God Of Thunder

The lakes blue ripples display their gleam
Sun rays reflecting upon them with ease
Small to minute current rolls
But with naked eye barely seen
The shoreline was edged uneven
With sand and rock making borderlines
Drawing the earths natural seperation's
Of the water and the sod-So Divine
The electricity arrived in thin air's ozone
And thunder claps-in the distance borne
Soon-the lightening flash could be seen
Striking the lakes blue gleam
Flashing zig-zags of lightening bolts
Echoing Thor's Thudding screams!

Paradise Lost The Tragedy Of Fallen Humanity

paradise found a precious birth miracle misty
paradise lost the tragedy of fallen humanity
we seek strive instinctively to find creatively
our way back to earth womb original sanctuary
an angel no longer stands guard prohibitively
denying entrance with sword drawn threateningly
industrialization allows us to waste mechanically
all ground before us in curse resource banditry
we destroy habitats life ozone layer simultaneously
we destroy our planet in degrees with impiety
we destroy ourselves in soulless dismal stupidity

The toronto sky is bue today because he is feeling much better today
Yesterday the Toronto sky wa sick due to carbon monoxide
And all the cars on the road sends their carbon monoxide to the sky
And the sky couldn't breathe and it is the same wy for those who have Asthma like the sky feeling that they are suffocanting
But me tell you that was exactly how the sky was feeling yesterday
Also I believe that the factorie releases a lot of dirty air into the air
Human neings use all kinds of sprays to clean their homes that affects The ozone layer also

Impure Mathematics

Let others consider pure mathematics,
I see a world
where reality leaves its mark
and the clockwork
gets shorter all the time
while time runs out.

Where no flowers remain
for the light brown bee
and everything pine away into a desert
and the greenhouse effect
covers the whole wide world,

the ozone layer burning away
and the sky full of grey clouds
shedding thunder and rain down

and waves
braking further over the horizon
in to the land

Global Warming

Wind bursts, orange fire curtains
Sweeping the land fueled blazes
There, in Arctic and Antartic a disintegrity
Cuts of ice, the size of a small country

Sodden wreckage continues hassling
Disasters continue bothering
Thrashing heat waves and fires
Threshing glacial melts and storms
Inflicting floods and climatic crashes
Massive attacks, why?
Something wrong, something warning
Greviously yes, global warming

Ozone layer depleting
Greenhouse emission repeating
Causes are we; Cautious we be
Circumambulating decay..
Speed of nature..can compete we?
Wish, they infer not 'Mother Earth is sick'

A sonnet on the wind's promises.

The wind brought me a present yesterday,
a scent it carried for three hundred miles.
It brought the ozone's hue from Sanna Bay
and stirred a pot of thought that so beguiles

and conjures up the past with abject ease,
as if time skipped upon the childhood rope.
Atlantic salt and sand so surely please
each blessed visitor they filled with hope.

The wind blew from the North in Summertime
and though it cooled the ardour on the ground,
It brought that thought that some would call sublime
a memory of love that few have found.

The wind brought me a present yesterday
a timeless beauty, trapped in its bouquet.

Small Comfort

Coffee and cigarettes in a clean cafe,
forsythia lit like a damp match against
a thundery sky drunk on its own ozone,

the laundry cool and crisp and folded away
again in the lavender closet-too late to find
comfort enough in such small daily moments

of beauty, renewal, calm, too late to imagine
people would rather be happy than suffering
and inflicting suffering. We're near the end,

but O before the end, as the sparrows wing
each night to their secret nests in the elm's green dome
O let the last bus bring

love to lover, let the starveling
dog turn the corner and lope suddenly
miraculously, down its own street, home.

Will Nature At A Time Be Really Lost? (Cavatina Sequence)

(after Archibald MacLeish)

Will nature at a time be really lost,
no snowflake fall
as the world becomes extremely hot,
while big and small
live in a man-made kind of sheer hot hell?
If man kills all;
the fish, each bird, each animal and tree,
what's living will at a time, no more be.

No bird will sing, or even be flying,
tranquility
will be gone in a world as stark as stone,
each thing lovely,
each leaping fish, diving crying great eagle
will die slowly,
when all of the ozone layer is gone
and the greenhouse effect just lingers on.

Sick Of You

I was up in the morning with the tv blarin
Brush my teeth sittin watchin the news
All the beaches were closed the ocean was a red sea
But there was no one there to part in two
There was no fresh salad because theres hypos in the cabbage
Staten island disappeared at noon
And they say the midwest is in great distress
And nasa blew up the moon
The ozone layer has no ozone anymore
And youre gonna leave me for the guy next door
Im sick of you
Im sick of you
They arrested the mayor for an illegal favor
Sold the empire state to japan
And oliver north married william secord
And gave birth to a little teheran
And the ayatollah bought a nuclear warship
If he dies he wants to go out in style
And theres nothing to eat that dont carry the stink
Of some human waste dumped in the nile

Unworded

The search was absolute,
truth was not.
The shades of impermanence
and flowing emotions merged.
I stood between the reality
and tilting shadows of time zones.
The distance had created
metaphors and I was weary of pretentions.

The deep sorrow nurtured
a grain of truth
an essence of time.
Earth shuddered in the
process of integumentation.
I trampled on the grass
as if to find the ozone.
Impatience scattered the wings.
I smelled the stone.

Take me not to gloom of death,

want to reach the sky
