An Inspiring Officer in Indian Administration
I bow my head to Iraianbu
the honest officer with a lot of nerve
and a wonderful descendent
of a glorious galaxy of writers
like Maraimalaiar and Pavanar.
He thinks deep and wide
and speaks in Chaste Tamil
and in fluent, flexible English.
He creates works of eternity
to offer at the feet of our Mother Tamil.
Losing touch with our Mother tongue
we struggle to go deep in other tongue
and sommer try to come out with some pearls
which would tell the world
a circle of novices in Chennai
are knitting sweet-smelling flowers
into colourful garlands
for the world-tongue to wear
with sheer pleasure in abundant measure.

Mother Tongue
A secretive being provides safety for the individual,
My cancers grow and multiply for every one acceptable.
Let hardness be attached to the so many words
In this high and mighty language, the one of hazards.
Must we seek caves and crevices for our illness
To disappear finally and successfully in stillness?
The being inside is like an island of woes,
I have hidden all these grand avocados.
Let secrets spoil the words so plentiful in this tongue,
The tongue is the mother tongue, and it is hung.

A Swedish physicist can not discuss his work with fifty people unless he goes abroad. A Swedish economist can get opinions and instructions in his native language from thousands upon thousands of his fellow citizens.

bare maple tree
standing on the front lawn…
with no one around
I speak to it
in my mother tongue

Dear friend
What you asked
My dear friend
May be it false
But I welcome.
What you asked
My dear friend
It is not necessary
To tell always
In mother tongue.
My dear friend
Foreign tongue
Only can take us
To measure space
As we know
Knowledge is power
Anf knowldge is
Not confined
Within the room

This universe can very well be expressed in words and syllables which are not those of one's mother tongue.

Emotion has no eyes
A mother has all the right
To pamper her child
So does each, his mother tongue
Or anything that is his.
Truth has no place.
Wisdom has no right to value the
emotion.

Another fool
One fool should not ask to another fool
As it may then look unique and wonderful
Fool may laugh at wise man for his foolish observance
Wise may then keep quiet for availing golden chance
We may fair little in native language
As it may then be easy to interpret and manage
Many great statesmen may intervene and challenge
Question your authentic presentation in dark page
So poets avoid their mother tongue language
Seek global exposure and try to engage
Induct new philosophy and try to woe
Drag in near acceptance and prove true
I am no exception and fall in same category
But what to do except to feel sorry!
Here if I speak in local language
They answer with foreign ascent and score leverage

Culture Diffuses By Osmosis.
Tamils settled in Kerala
Feel shy to speak Tamil
And want to hide their race
From their tongue and looks.
.
Tamil Brahmins proudly use it.
They keep it as their mother tongue.
They speak, sing and dance in Tamil,
Generation after generation.
Tamils, save Brahmins, are held as black.
In a culture, inferior dissolves in the superior.

Our language is the reflection of ourselves. A language is an exact reflection of the character and growth of its speakers.

This is America: Better know English
America was once the magnificent place
Where all immigrants wanted to escape
So they illegally come here, as illegal aliens
Hiding in the back of our American vans
Now our schools and jobs require multiple languages
When we’re the Americans, we’re supposed to speak English!
And we do and just because they don’t
Doesn’t mean their language is a demand we should know
Don’t come to America if you don’t know the language
I’m just being realistic, I’m not being racist
Don’t put up store signs if they’re not readable
You’re in America; English is the main language you should know
Then they’re pissed because people won’t help out their business
But their forgetting us Americans don’t speak their language
We don’t go to Mexico demanding English classes
So why should they own the right to demand us Spanish?
I love the language, and everything BUT
THIS IS AMERICA look our history up!
Then tell me if French should be required
Where in the hell in the time line is that desired?

To identify…
Forget not the mother tongue.
Abandon not cults and rites.
Avoid cross breed and retain pattern names.
You must be identified.

Sense In Valuing
Which language is sweet?
Mother tongue;
Which woman is reliable?
Mother;
Which child is lovely?
Mine to me;
Which God is assuring?
Mine to me;
Which is most valuable?
My life;
Is there any sense in valuing?

Portugal Manoel Da Assumpcam Missionary.
'Portugal Manoel Da Assumpcam
Amar Sonar Moyna Pakki Amigo,
I never seen you in my live ever before
Which Country are you from?
My dear amigo Manoel Da Assumpcam.
Your colour of heritage in unknown Land l fear to bear your name in word.
I can't bear to missed you my amigo, Oh yes it can't be forgot either
You have contributed your nameless name in the nation without name
To influence other and to form the crowd in unknown Land,
Where are you from Sir?
And to shape not my nationalities in Language in Culture but yours!
The present Language in Bangla o' my dear amigo never was counted by.
You may be nothing To Government of Portugal than but today.
Priceless name in the heart of people's in the unknown Land.
I have nothing to say in Language Portuguese other than to say thank you.
For teaching and advocating me in Language in Bangla
That nation today celebrates every year.

Language lost
My language lost
My identity lost.
Excuse me
I could not save my language.
I am forced to use foreign tongue
I am forced to shun all that are mine.
Excuse me
I could not save my language
I could not save my life
And I am not fine.
I want to talk in my mother tongue
I want to live in my home
I want to tell my Father to come and rescue.
My language lost
My identity lost.

Welcome Back
welcome back brother
now back to this place
you must change the clothes you are wearing
you must talk in our language
you must now feel what we are
with our longings
for peace
with our common vision
for our future
you must sing our songs and learn the kind of march we do
you must listen to our poetry
you must learn the prayers of our ancestors
and our heroes
now, this is the cup of blood
you must now drink it in one shot

In the Same Cell
(They are Tamils. I am a Sinhalese in same country called Sri Lanka.)
They murmur and exchange
In their own mother tongue
I was a dumb person
Because of the language
I talk
In my tongue
He reacts and learns
As he knows little bit
In the same cell of same act
Between the death and life
We passed time without a meaning.
Looks at me
Makes change and
Closes with loyalty
Clearing face with smiles
Thereafter
