Quotes about comic strips, page 2
Imagine my surprise when, after a lifetime of teaching me to keep personal things to myself, Mom insisted my drawings were the start of a comic strip for millions of people to enjoy.

Writing this book feels like a completely different activity from writing my comic strip because it's about real life. I feel like I'm using a part of my brain that's been dormant until now.

I remember back when I was a kid there was a comic strip called Plastic Man. His body was elastic and he could make his extremities as long as he wanted. As a youngster I didn't fully appreciate. But I'm now thinking Plastic Man was probably pretty popular with the ladies.

Lung
To me and to you
Theres no difference for us
Again, avail
Your hearts some trust
Lets open it
Be strong
Cut out
Its lung
Be gentle
Get on
Theres no spanish comic strip
Give up, for real
May sure youve got your gun
Lets open it
Be strong
Cut out
Its lung
Lets open it
Be strong
Cut out

Turning Pages
Naiveté in younger years
And meager sense between my ears
What interested me the most
Were comic strips within the Post.
“Deep in Bengalla
Woods within the famed Skull Cave
The masked Phantom waits...”
Throughout advancing teenage years
My interest turned to social spheres
Again the Post is what I read
To see the people who were wed.
“Maryann Fulmer
And Nolan Zane Fullerton
Were married March 3rd….”
Turning the pages to sixty
I sport a silver-white goatee.

Little Things
Me and you and the sunday paper
Spread all over the bed
A rose colored morning light
All to ourselves
Hot coffee and the comic strips
Pillow talk and your fingertips
Laying down and loving
til theres nothing left
Chorus:
Ill take the little things
The simple pleasures that your sweet love brings
Ill take the little things with you
Open the windows, leave that old fan on
Lay here with me til the sun is gone
Dont say nothin just let the time
Pass right on by
I want to hear you breathe
I want to brush your hair
I dont care if we go anywhere
Weve got everything we need

Stories For Boys
Theres a place I go,
And it is far away.
Theres a tv show,
And I can grow.
Sometimes the hero takes me,
Sometimes I dont let go.
Theres a picture book
With more than moans and groans.
Theres a comic strip
That makes me laugh.
Sometimes I let it take me.
Sometimes I dont let go,
I wont let go.
Stories for boys.
Stories for boys.
Theres a place I go,
And it is far away.
Theres a radio,
And I will crawl.
Sometimes the hero takes me.

Vegas 2000
Year 2000 early spring,
I was staying in
the “City of Sin”.
Staying in hotel
called the “Stratosphere”,
I went to the top,
and looked down with fear.
Now I heard Tom Cruise
took the sky jump down,
I’m afraid of heights,

Dark Chocolate
Wrapped in shinny wrappers,
golden, red, silver and brown,
chocolate, the king of sweets,
everyone's favorite treat,
dropp it in your mouth,
it slips and melts,
bitter sweet with nuts,
lover's gift, chocolate kiss!
Born in West Africa
bred by little hands,
little feet walked three days,
on stale porridge and water,
sweets they have heard not,
schools they know not,
only cocoa farms.
With machetes in their hands,
they chop the pods,
often, when they swing too high,

Cross-Eyed And Overwhelmed (Revised)
The story unfolds in one thin line, only sarcasm
of teen characters interesting; without philosophy,
great similes or striking passages requiring notes,
focus unilaterally on being a young protagonist
and her Barbie-doll stream of consciousness
Oee, she felt so angry and oh, her heart beating
and ooooh, her breath racing and he looked liked
that and did something brave; after reading this by
order of my daughter to intensify her joy & showing
willingness to support her in her latest undertaking
I felt like a wet rag, brain reduced to a pulp
Eyes out of focus, the image of screen heroines
flashing in front of my eyes with the leading lady's
lipstick immaculate, her lips fluttering like butterfly
wings - see what I mean, this style has gotten to
me - my daughter runs about with stars in her
eyes, already bringing me volume 2 since

Zoe Reno Is Not A Car?
Hey Reno! Get the name right!
Hey Reno! Zoe is not a common noun!
Zoe is a first name! A Christian name!
In Greek Zoe means life, abundant life!
Zoe Reno is a young girl, your car stole her name!
Oh Zoe is not a name you do not believe me?
Your paid judge has ruled Zoe is not a first name!
Ever heard of St. Zoe, a Roman noble woman?
Several notable Christian women were named Zoe!
Two were empresses ruling in the Byzantine empire!
Their recorded rule kinda out rules your judge!
St. Zoe the Roman noble woman was martyred!
Why? For her Christian faith in Emperor Diocletian’s
famous severest last persecution of the Christian church!
What it is not a living word? Ok you do not buy it fine!
