Theodora Onken about life

~Science 101~

Some have said that Poetry-
'Tis a Science...
Where words are layered and connected-
Together-
Like our bones-
A comparative anatomy-
With embellishments-
Similar to marbalized stones...
Living close to the sod and moss-
Nary a word or even its loss-
Usually i am lead into the dale-
Where nature grows flower 's-
Underneath its green veil-
And live out their youth-
In the Spring-
With Summer in between-
With a science to it all-
Dying come the Fall...

Going Nowhere

Anxiety rides my coatails...
As i push ever onward ahead-
Afraid to live...
Afraid to die-afraid of the dead;
In this kalidescope of cornucopia...
Overwhelmed and overflowing...
Each breath...
Each heartbeat-growing;
In unison...
With the tic and the tock...
Wired and preprogrammed---
Inside of my bodies clock;
Cycling over and over again...
Another moment wasted...
Another second down the drain...
Oppurtunities pass me by-untasted;
Like traffic in this-my freeway of life...
But do i ever really reach out?
The answer is-no--
Oh, i push on-with nary a shout;

I'll Be Here

For everything you are
For everything you have been
For making my life whole
For awakening life in me again
For being that ray of hope
For giving me faith to carry on
For giving me the courage to fight
Thank you my beloved son!

Life

Our life is but a mist-
A fast runner in a breath of time-
'Tis a wisp of smoke only temporary...
As transient as yesterdays rhyme;

Our life is just a mere shadow-
For we are here for but a moment more...
We are all strangers-just pilgrims- on a brief journey-
An Earth traveler whos entered through Gods Door;

Its in this brief existance that we find our purpose-
At last-before our moment 'tis but done...
Living and doing Gods purpose for Him-
Successfully completed when final breath-is at last with The Son;

~Growing Old? ~

A Look Back To Now...

Basking in the New
Spring Sun
Knitting needles
Construct the weave
Drinking Cristal
Toast's de-jour
As this day prepares
It's leave
I lay my weary head
Down
And breathe in the
Elixir's of Spring
Enchantment decree's
In effervescent degree's
What a nature filled
Ambience it brings
For i have lived a life-

Conception

Unearthed-once buried-hopes lived...
Soon to be borne into the light...
A Gift of God was presented to us...
Bringing much joy into our hearts and sight;

A magical-perfectly timed moment--
When two-a man-a woman became one...
God was watching and was very pleased...
Leading to conception when the day was done;

A tiny miracle embraced in our arms---
A babe wrapped in gossemer and down-
A gift most supreme and a hope filled dream...
A son was borne in Seattle town;

Owen's Street~

Today, basking in the bright sunshine of Texas
Upon this late November day, i feel complete
Embracing hearth and home ever so deeply
Right here, in my home on Owen's Street;
I know, i know, i could have lived in Dallas
Or even in Dorothy's Kansas or Jesting Oklahoma
But, i choose Coolidge as my home sweet home
Although sometimes, i do long to be in Roma;
But all kidding aside, my friends and foe
I do digress, way, way too much
For it is so true, as i, was once without a clue
On this bright November day, i am at last completely in touch;

Deepest Cut

Deep downside of The River--
Near the cliffed ravine---
Lays a silver feather...
Left behind by the Graven Queen;
Her heart bloodied...
Sliced chambers-no longer whole...
Running free into the canyons of yesterday...
Taking all of her soul;
For it 'tis the deepest cut--
That slice of malicious mean...
That stormed the raging river of blood--
And took the life of the Graven Queen;
Once romanced and filled with lust...
She lived in desires hand...
Courted by her King of Disaster--
In a long dying land;
Fate would be their witness...
As Providence most always has its way...
The deepest cut has at last surrendered...
Itself- into the Earthen Clay;

Flower Basket

Bring to me the flowers of Spring
In a woven straw basket brown
Pretty Little Maids all in a row
Petal's strewn 'cross the town
Oh so delightful in the Springtime
Resplendent in the Summer air
A garden basket of sweet scented blooms
Of The Maiden's Fair
Most beautiful to all breath-taking
Their aroma's splash the breeze
Velvet soft-like petals abloom
In The Secret Garden With Ease
They living out their complete prime
Beautifying Others Life
Their fragrance emulating upon a zephr
Numbing all of this worlds strife
Long before the rustic fall comes calling
With It's Oft' Northern Breeze
Chasing away the flowers and the green
Ending the blooms sweet life

Show Me

Consequential vigilence IS aptly applied...

Upon the *cruise* down my very lane...

Emergency responders of Arkansas and Missouri...

Announced the Black lived in Dodge RamPickup 'tis to blame...

With manicured yards of no more (Growed-Up)

No name-No address...Geese! ! ! !

Grown-up jungled yard at YOUR green house door! ! !

Getting too personal perhaps? ? ? Goosey? ? ?

As Doug and Chris have already done said

Reward of: 'Three-Thousand-Dollars' (ARN)

~Soul's Quest~

I do believe that i have waited
All of my life-
For words so tantilizing sweet-
The sound of hearts beating
So close
To one another-
'Tis a life complete!
And wide open Soul's-
Beneath the Love-
Expressed-
A million years-
In one second-
That passes-
And stills the sound-
And radiates heavenly-
The aroma-pheromones!
And knowing-
But not really knowing-
For sure-
We're bound...

~*~ Joie de Vive ~*~

...Such an utter engagement to joy -
It is sometimes contagious, you know -
The symptoms of: 'Happy Go Lucky'
Reward you, the older you grow -

They say that sheer optimism -
In mid-life, even increases, life span -
By as much as seven and a half years -
Now that is, no flash in the pan!

Of course, diet and exercise, they matter -
Throwing away the bad habbits, we share -
Loving our bodies and minds, a little more -
Might just give us, more time, to spare -

So go ahead, and spread your joy -
You know, the fact, ' you awoke again, today' -
And sprinkle it, with much loving care -
Allow 'Joie de Vive, ' to live, in your heart this way!

Nineteen-Ninety One

Your inspirations to write fertile
Comes from your darkened ground corridors
Much as a mad chef with his dominating seasonings
Using Basil and Garlic more and more;
Your Over The Rainbow verses
And Rescue Missions shine today ever CLEAR
Your private hidden life-now out in the open
Your security now lost-living in fear?
Years and years of poisoning plans and words
Fresh out of: The D.O.C.-
Turning our: 'Precious Gift' against us eventually
With your: One To Seek Him Talk! ;
Introducing him to your poison-
Does your wickedness have no end?
You are totally shameless-thats the truth
Oh, how all of your actions egregiously offend! ;

Haute Couture

The newest craze in the World
The very latest in High Fashion
Has been introduced by New Designers
Who go by the names of: Forgiving
And Compassion

Brought before the eyes of the Nouveau Riche
And all the style Fashionista's
The stir is catching on
Across all past opined vista's

This is but the latest trend
Compassion and his friend Forgiving
They are giving Donatella Versace a run
For her money
As many lean towards this new way of living

So watch out Dolce and Gabanna and
Giorgio Armani
Rumor has it it Victoria Beckham and

Too Many

To many broken promises...
Too many hearts heavy with care--
Too many fires of un-requited love--
Too many bleeding wounds of utter despair;

Too many doors that have closed forever...
Too many bridges burned behind...
Too many left with questions and no answers...
Too many good Souls lost over time;

Oh-the woes and the sorrows...
How they do suffer ones aching heart--
Un-neccesary travails and endless miseries...
Too many lives-shattered apart;

Twenty Four Years Today

The cold hard past called on me today-
It came beating down my door-
Bent on destruction and living in the past...
Beating its drums of vengeful war;
Conclusion 'tis that sleeping dawgs always bark-
And they never forget a mistake...
Coming with the verity of a deep saber bite-
Digging up the Earth at a grave fully awake;
Why do these dawgs want to hold on and not forgive?
Are they indeed more rightous than God?
Who has forgiven all-who confessed and repented...
From their life of sins upon this sod;
Twenty four years have come and gone-
And He found me along my wrong way...
No longer lost in what alchohol caused...
New reality has been mine twenty fours years today;

Summer Of My Life

It was early summer
... Before the full green set in
When the lawns de-winterizing
Awoke
To a Yellowish Brown
New floor had not been formed
Not yet ready for
The Tropical Palm;
The white cloud days
Pushed at the Baby-Blue constantly
While the circular Tangerine Sun,
Peeked out surreptitously;
Back in the Era -
When days grew long -
Where the light shown -
The Mud and The Flower -
Yesteryear in the Summer -
Of my Okay and ugly ways -
I remember the good and bad -
Of my many, Summer hours;

West Twenty-Fifth Street

My address 'tis 41 West 25th Street-
I am living my dream in New York State...
'Tis my very own: 'Show Place'...
My 'Gracious Home'-my fate;

In my younger years i shopped-
For baby furniture and teen as well-
I would go next door to: 'Scneiders'
And i only bought the best that they had to sell;

Life in New York City can be quite hectic...
'Tis so easy to get caught in the fray...
In the Hub-Bub of this busy city...
But 'tis a city where: 'Samuel French Plays';

They say that the Big Apple 'tis so huge...
But really if you know where you're going- i disagree-
Actually we are closer than you think- darlin'-
Why even Newark 'tis close to me;

Full Circle

Beginning 'neath the late Summer moonlight-
Embraced in the leaves of Fall...
Awed by Winter time and icy places...
But reponding to the Springs south wind call;

Lips tempting more to come...
Over the past months of weathered time...
Verging on passions filled Summer fire once again-
Ending in loves most perfect rhyme;

Dedicated to: The Passage of Seasons and Times In Our Lives;
To remembrance and Debbie Harry -Blondie and her songs-Call Me, One Way Or Another, Heart Of Glass and to her amazing performance on The T.V. Land Awards this evening.
April 25,2010. Thank you all for taking us on a walk down memory lane.

Book Of Days

'Tis written in my book 'O days
In this season 'O living and sweet blooming love
Your gentle hands shall guide me on my journey
Into our promised land- so high above;
A golden leading on the path to our heaven
I am at home in a spectrum of blue
Divine and blessed beyond any question
Consecrated in a love-so true;
'Tis written in my book of days
Remembrance O' the tender warmth O' your kiss
Engraved in a promise of evermore-my darling
Aglow in true loves everlasting bliss;
