Contrails
With my Navajo friend Johnny,
Sitting on a dune of red sand
In Monument Valley, Utah,
And partaking in a little cotraband
Whiskey, we gazed up high,
Squinting in the air toward the sun
Where there was the vapor trail
Of a jumbo jet.
'Where are all those people
'Havin' to go? ' he asked.
'Packed up like those fishies,
Those, um, sardines in a can.'
Told him I did not know.
We rolled cigarettes
And enjoyed being landbound,
Down in the dumps,
Not double-daring gravity
And the jackrabbit horizon.

Too Sparsely The Light Falls
Too sparsely the light falls through the window on that day,
in splashes here and there, with the park invisible,
with light fading away and suddenly the dark night comes
with stars shining blue-white.
Away into the naught the light of an aeroplane flashes,
when the night bends far over the horizon
and it feels as if God Himself is here,
stretching Him out over the earthly events.

Lament For A Cop
Helicopters hover, searching
for the one who shot
the man who served,
who held a thin shield
between us and the chaos
of violent minds, reckless desires
born of poverty,
ignorance,
greed.
He coached our kids
showed them how
to hit three-pointers,
be safe,
live
without fear.
Fearlessly, he pursued the robbers,
slammed them to a firm

Surf And/or Die
Earthbound to johnny boy just picked up your message
bout those balinese ikats you thought I might buy
Now your voice on my machine is more alive than what you are
Since your daredevil hang glider fell out of the sky
Now armands looked all over but he cant find your car keys
Were they under the tire? were they under the seat?
Because as it stands now your beloved white aires
Is fair game for the vandals up on makapuu street
And your grandmothers number, we know its here somewhere
But suze cant seem to find it, now shes losing control
And so what about her, and little eldon and layla
And that hypothetical spectre, your gilt-edged soul
Which defied many perils, in the face of all reason
And in so many settings and for all your young years
Insisting on pure freedom for its too-short season
Riding high on its ration of enchantment and fear
Over the hill and into the next meadow and on and on and on
In a near random universe there are still certain combinations
Picked out from all other possible ones
Which, when given some time and the just-right circumstances

Let it breathe long.
What is ‘in your mind?
Be frank to tell me.
Silence or ignorance will sure to kill me.
Brooding over failures will break up your strong heart.
Brimming with tears in eyes won’t bolster your morale.
Beaming smiles to foes will make you to stand tall.
Drunken ramblers won’t nod and cheer us
and our ship should sail on sea so violent.
God will save us from the chasing mob of dissent.
Crowds are wielding the banned choppers of caste
and at times the religion also has its evil part.
Love in this barren landscape has a life so short.

How A Mom IS
A mom to love,
A mom to care,
A mom to roam with you everywhere!
A mom to dance,
A mom to sing,
A mom to paint an aeroplane and king!
A mom to kiss,
A mom to hug,
A mom who never scolds
If you break a jug!
A mom who runs,
A mom who plays,
A mom who bakes hot cross buns!
A mom to call you darling,
A mom to call you pearl,
A mom to call you diamond,

Old generation vs new generation
Old generation teaches the rules as they have experienced life and saw whats right and wrong. New generation claims rights are well made and forget responsibilities. Whose to blame when things fall apart?
Two stands on 1 road with different visions one decides to walk on the narrow road and the other one the wide road takes an aeroplane. Whose more likely to survive?
And who knows better?

Flights Of Impossibility
bumble bees fly upon wings impossible
black yellow fuzzy bodies heavy rise up
helicopters rise up hover off in buzz flight
bumble bees body mind looms large shiny
heavy thought cannot confined be earth bound
wings of hope lift weight impossible to soar
scientists proclaimed your flights impossible
faith was no word transformative to bare load

I wanted it not to be true. I wanted it not to be her plane. I wanted it - I wanted, if it was her plane, to have somehow survived because she was in the back of the airplane. But we know that doesn't happen, not with those sorts of things.

When I got on the airplane in Indonesia coming to Japan, my intentions was to turn myself in to the military for the simple reason I would like to put my daughters with their mother, one thing. Another thing, I'd like to clear my conscience.

Wings of destiny
I
Ask any parabat that jumped at Cassinga
and he would tell you
that destiny has wings.
While facing a battalion of
Cuban tanks and armoured cars,
out of the blue and as if by magic
a Buccaneer appeared.
There was nothing more beautiful
than to see that jet
making self-sacrificing dives,
before it flew off to disappear
into the blue sky,
but let me tell that heroic story
as I know it.

To the Teacher.
To The Teacher.
Teach my child the formation of the letters
Love and affection, science maths, chemistry and physics
With some short stories, songs and poems
Not only the theoriticals, practicals of massive productions
But also the outcomes of harmful by productions
Not to make a genious to produce automic bombs
But to rescue living beings from those welthier mines
Gold, silver and copper to illuminate ornaments and aeroplanes.

Perception!
When I say what that flies in the sky is a joyful bird,
Someone says that it is a kite with glass and glue thread,
Another one says that it is an airplane with ambitious loads,
But the last one says that it is his dreams, not yet down loaded.

Cutting the deficit by gutting our investments in innovation and education is like lightening an overloaded airplane by removing its engine. It may make you feel like you're flying high at first, but it won't take long before you feel the impact.

No Oil (Limerick)
As the Yanks conquer foreign soil
all the tension rise up to a boil.
Let democracy reign
in Andorra and Spain,
and the Arabs can drink all their oil.
We are now on the brink, mark my words,
to fly airplanes and cars just like birds.
An old Kraut has unveiled
that the oilmen have failed,
we can run all our engines on turds.

One night I dream
One night I dream
about ratel armoured cars
that looks different
and are almost as impenetrable
as American tanks
and can shoot accurately further
than G-6 howitzers while moving
and can drive right through
landmine fields
and we are fighting
in a enemy territory
There are enemy weapons
burning everywhere
and their aeroplanes
are grounded in rows
and when we win
I have already for a time

Runaway Train
Baby our love is our love is like a runaway train
Baby it won't stop, won't stop, won't slow down for anything
Baby it's big, so strong, love is a powerful thing
Baby our love is our love is like a runaway train
Baby our love reminds me, reminds me of a runaway train
Baby our love is our love is like a hurricane
Baby it won't stop, won't stop, won't slow down for anything
Baby it's big, so strong, love is a powerful thing
Baby our love is our love is like a hurricane
Baby our love reminds me, reminds me of a hurricane
Our love is red hot, non-stop all the way to the top
Now that I been in the middle of this thing
Ain't no way I'm ever gonna go back
Seen everything, I been everywhere, I didn't leave nothin' that I want back
there
Come on, baby lets move this thing a little farther down the track
Baby our love is our love is like a jet airplane
Flying so high above all the pouring rain
Baby it's big, so strong, love is a powerful thing
Baby our love is our love is like a jet airplane

But if you really want to get involved in making a difference, you can stay at home with your family and have a job and make a reasonable living without having to be on an airplane all of the time, then you ought to go back home and run for School Board.

Deportee
The crops are all in, the peaches are rotting
The oranges are piled in their creosote dumps
Theyre flying you back to the mexico border
To pay all your money to wade back again
My fathers own father, he waded that river
They took all the money he made in his life
My brothers and sisters they work in the fruit trees
They rode the truck till they took down and died
Good-bye to my juan, good-bye rosalita
Adios mes amigos, jesus e maria
You wont have a name when you ride the big airplane
And all they will call you will be deportee
Some of us are illegal, and some are not wanted
Our work contracts out and we have to move on
Six hundred miles to the mexican border
They chase us like rustlers, like outlaws, like thieves.
We died in your hills. we died on your deserts.
Weve died in your mountains, and died on your plains.
Weve died neath your trees, and weve died in your bushes.
Both sides of the river, weve died just the same.
